While this is not official word from Square Enix themselves, EB Games Australia and EB Games New Zealand have updated their websites with the release date of Kingdom Heats 3D [Dream Drop Distance]! Australia is listed for a July 26th release, and New Zealand for a July 27th release!

Kingdom Hearts 3D in Australia will retail for $68 AUD, and in New Zealand it will be $93 NZD.

Director Nomura was deadset on choosing Utada Hikaru to compose the series' theme songs from the very beginning, despite the beliefs of failure from the other staff. In fact, persuading them otherwise took more time than to negotiate with Utada.

As we've reported just a few days ago on Wednesday, the upcoming issue of Famitsu Weekly, releasing on April 19th, will contain a brand new, exclusive Dream Eater AR Card, allowing players to receive the lovable Fruit Cat! Famiweb has updated with information regarding the issue, confirming the presence of the exclusive Dream Eater, as well as advertising for titles such as Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

As you probably know, Monstro from Disney's Pinocchiowas used as an entire world in the original Kingdom Hearts. Well did you know that Monstro was also going to be a boss Sora, Donald and Goofy fought while traversing on the Gummi Ship? The development team ran into some difficulties programming the massive whale though, and it was eventually cut from the game.

Remember how earlier this week IGN asked their readers to vote for the game they were most anticipating for the Summer season? Well, the votes are in and Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] won! It came in at top with 45% of the vote, Mario Tennis Open trailing behind with 19%, and Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy was at the bottom with 4%.

Kairi's name was originally going to be left as "Kai," but Nomura didn't think it was feminine enough for her character. In order to find a way to make her name sound more feminine, Nomura went through and added each Japanese syllable to the end of her name (starting with "a") until he found the one he liked.
