So my computer is hooked up to a wireless Belkin G router. I've set the wireless network up but when I try to connect to it with the Wii, this is what happens:
I'll see my SSID on the Wii, but when I connect to it and do a connection test, it says unable to connect to the Internet.
What's wrong?

Are you able to connect with any other wireless devices?

I'm assuming his router does work with other devices, obviously since he is able to get on the internet while setting up the network in his wii.

Nintendo Wii: Choosing a Wireless Router

Read in an earlier thread in wiichat forum that a mixed connection (B+G) is required, but that was in '07.

Also, sometimes the connection suddenly disconnects, so try turning the router off for 20 seconds, back on, and see if your wii can get a connection.

Make sure you have your wireless set to output in modes B, and G. If you have it set to only output in G the Wii won't be able to connect, because the wireless card inside the Wii is a B type card, not G.

Thanks guys I'd rep you but im out for the day.
How to i make sure i's output is in B mode? Is this the same with the ps3?

Ps3 outputs its wireless card in G mode, which runs off of B and G, and if you have a wireless N router then you'd need to put it to output G also. Most wireless routers will have a site that you can go to, and type in your username and password that you setup on you router and then you can mess around with the technical specs (setting the output)
