Personally, I imagine him like this:
Sora and Kairi become king and queen of Kingdom hearts, Riku will continue to follow the path of "true owner of keyblade" and become Sora's right hand, like Sasuke Uchiha in Naruto / Boruto.
Ventus, Lauriam, Alrena doing their duty in the present will return to the past from where they belonged.
Yenzo will become the ruler of the Radiant Garden and I can also introduce a timeskip 10 years later.
An adult Roxas writes memoirs about his life as nobody, it would also be fun to see Lea as a teacher who would teach a new generation of children and give them the basics in owning a keyblade and more. (Maybe one of the children would be one of children of heroes we know, well, or I want to see Max Goof in this canon.Lol)
Xion would open a shelter for all nobody, where they would be taken care of and helped find a heart.
Terra and Aqua think I would train a new generation of keyblade wielders.
And how could you imagine him?

First off very cool Avatar

I agree that the series is building up to Sora becoming a king. Whether it is King of Kingdom Hearts or something else, Sora will wear that crown on his head at the end of it all. I'd be fine with Kairi as his Queen if Nomura can handle it properly. I could see Riku taking on his own apprentices as an adult. Most likely the standard two boy one girl trio in Destiny Islands.

As for Ventus I'm sure he would want to stay in the present with Terra and Aqua once the Foreteller conflict is resolved. A fun idea for Namine would be for her to become a professional painter once she got older.

I would've had Sora, Riku and Kairi have a Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz realization, that nothing beats home. I see them having had their fill of thrills and adventure and quietly retire on their island. No more doors, no more keys, no more separation.

I would have the Wayfinders continuing the legacy and teachings of the Keyblade, with a new batch of keybearers.

I see Roxas, Axel and Xion living a calm and rewarding life. Situated in the Old Mansion, they dedicate themselves to helping Twilight Town and its community.

Ideally I would bring back Repliku and have him alongside Namine doing whatever.

Donald and Goofy would escort King Mickeys on missions, finally solidifying that Disney trio. Of course everyone meets up for the yearly celebration at Destiny Islands.

This art from @/fishee made me sad about Sora and Vanitas demises in 3. The art pretty much is what I hoped for Vanitas, if he was redeemed and had his heart fixed by Ansem the wise or Ienzo. Having a good time with Sora, Ventus, Roxas etc etc etc.

I’m not sure how I would end the series.

Let them have a tea party at the end lol

If I were to end it at KH3, I'd have Sora reach the true KH when he died, ultimately bringing ALL the worlds back as one.

I've had some of these ideas for awhile now. Most of these sound like a sappy fanfic, lol.

Roxas: He becomes the Twilight Town undisputed struggle champion with his signature dual wielding struggle bats, which the judges cannot find a reason to band them as a unfair advantage.

Lea: It depends on what they are going to do with this whole Subject X thing. But one thing I could see him doing is helping Isa become the mayor of Twilight Town. Rise in the polls like they did in the Organization XD

Xion: A young Twilight Town scientist and seashell shop owner. She's also a role model figure to help guide anyone or anything with artificial life that fears they don't have a place in the world. She'll show them they don't have to born with a heart to grow one.

Namine: I can see Namine using her powers to help people who have lost parts of their memory reconnect the chains and bring those precious memories back. Since I believe everyone in the KH universe will be connected to Sora in one way or another, that means Namine's powers can be used to help everyone in everyworld. She'll also be a famous artist in her spare time.

Aqua: Keyblade Master, keeping the tradition alive and training new wielders. She eventually takes over Yen Sid's role as the Master Keyblade leader to call everyone to action should they need it.

Terra: I see Terra having a Cecil Harvey Paladin moment. He goes to face his darkside that Xehanort exploited, maybe not win the first time, but with the support of his loved ones he comes on top in the end and becomes a balanced Keyblade Master. Riku, the boy he named his successor, could even help him.

Ventus: Regains his memories and much like Roxas, he connects his two lives together. His Union X buddies and his current day buddies. Possibly make real peace with his darkness Vanitas.

Riku: A mentor figure to anyone who gets lost in the dark. His life experience helps him guide even the most lost of souls. Hum

Kairi: Masters her Princess of Heart powers and uses them to spread light, a anti-Maleficent if you will. She's also the one who organizes the KH cast reunions and get-togethers.

Sora: Spends his days with all his friends and loved ones, Also goes out to travel and make new friends and connect everyone's hearts together. Much like Kairi is the anti-Maleficent, Sora is the anti-Xehanort. He doesn't view his other selves as pawns, they are his friends. Still not a true Keyblade Master, Sora is Sora.

Mickey, Donald and Goofy: Remain the same. Loyal allies to Sora and friends on all their adventures. Mickey still rules Disney Castle, and sometimes uses it as a place to host parties with the other keyblade heroes.

It’s very rare that a series which has had so much build up with both characters and story to end with a satisfying conclusion. There are too many examples to list.

And no matter how the KH series will eventually end, there will inevitably be fans who are left disappointed.

There'll always be more Disney films to adapt, & people would continually imagine what a new KH game with those worlds would be like.

Sora and Kairi marry and have three kids and they each resemble Sora, Kairi and Riku.

Riku and Mickey are practically the overseers of the universe under Yen Sid.

Donald and Goofy return to Disney Castle, with some frequent escapes to Destiny Islands.

Roxas lives the rest of his life with Hayner and the gang. Lea and Xion accompany them.

Isa becomes an apprentice to Ienzo, who is now the lord of Radiant Garden after Ansem the Wise decided to retire.

Ansem the Wise and Uncle Scrooge casually go on expeditions together.

Aqua observes the Mark of Mastery for both Ventus and Terra and declares them both Masters; Aqua stays in the Land of Departure training three apprentices, while Terra has under his tutelage a single apprentice he plans on teaching as they travel different worlds and Ventus decides to not take any apprentices and just travel the worlds alongside Chirity.

Lauriam dies and is reunited with Streritzia

Arlene becomes a nomad: lives for some time in a world and then moves to another.

Luxord creates his own world that's centered around gambling.

Demyx becomes a regular citizen of Radiant Garden.

Squall and the gang literally become a parliament for Radiant Garden.

After spending his Saturday night sleepover binging on old FF games & older Disney VHS tapes, Sora wakes up the next morning & remarks to his sleepover guests Riku & Pence how he had "just the weirdest dream ever" involving cartoon & video game characters. They tell him he needs to cut back on the sea salt ice cream because it's messing with his mind & then Sora's mom calls them all down for breakfest.

THE END.

Personally I'd end the series with a "and the adventure continues" vibe and a book ending. So this is kinda how I'd imagine it.

Mickey would return to his duties as a King, with Donald and Goofy taking on their old duties. When Minnie show's up handing them a letter write by Kairi.

It'd cut away to Sora, Riku and Kairi packing their bags to finally go on that trip to see other worlds together they were planning on in KH1. This time without having to worry about the fate of the worlds.
Maybe have Naminé join them? Her illustrations of the adventure showing up in the final credits of the game.

There'd be a voice over by Kairi telling of them meeting up with their old friends and how they're doing.

Roxas, Xion and Axel would have settled into normal lives in Twilight Town, attending school and doing odd jobs. Hanging out with HPO and Isa (after he redeems himself a bit more) every now and then.

Aqua would have become the Master of the Land of Departure in charge of training the next generation of Keyblade wielders. With Ven and Terra as her fellow Masters and mentors of the new generation.
The time displaced Keyblade wielders having managed to settle there as well. Or maybe instead of Land Of Departure they all are in Scala Ad Calumn?

She'd also talk about any other new friends that they'd make between now and the end of the series also old friends like the restoration comity.

It'd end with Namine's more skilled illustrations of SRK(N) in various places not featured in the series yet.

The last image being of all the main characters having another party on the beach smiling.

Sora, Riku, and Kairi “sacrifice” themselves to completely save the worlds and unite them into one world. Everybody else lives happy lives.

Sora, Riku, and Kairi then exist as three eternal god-like beings that sleep/watch over the World until the day that they are needed again. They get to be with each other and go on adventures as they dream or whatever.

The end.

"And as the prophecy foretold, darkness prevailed and light expired."

But, seriously. I got the impression that the universe in Kingdom Hearts follows a cycle of death and rebirth. Since apparently Kingdom Hearts has the ability to "reset" the universe, it's not hard to imagine that it has been done before. Maybe it could have an ambiguous ending where the universe may or may not appear to reach that point? I don't imagine many people would be satisfied with that, but it would leave the future up to our imaginations.

Oh, God. I hope in high hell that, if KINGDOM HEARTS ever concludes, it doesn't end like Lightning Returns' ending.
