Quick question what's with the bot accounts? Don't remember this happening before.

Bots were always an issue in the past. If you've ever looked at the "View members" list at any point in the past, it would identify a large population of bots as "guests" just viewing the forum. Technology has advanced to the point they're now programming bots to create accounts with the soul purpose of advertising a product to as many people as possible.

Listen, its annoying as all hell to see like 5-6 threads asking you to buy some dumbass vitamins or gummies, but trust as soon as a moderator, staff member, or administrator is online, their perma'd.

Thank you Dari and the other mods/admins/staff members for what you do! Oh and for the rest of us, if you wanna help, report those bots's butts. I would think that'd help you guys find them in a hurry. Especially when a bot necro's a thread. I've seen THAT one.

It's always been a problem and it's the worst it's ever been and we have no way of really stopping it.
For every one or two you guys see there are literally dozens you don't.

Ernest: I can tell you from the RPGamer forum, they're like ROACHES. They are everywhere and I had to deal with a lot of them over there (I was one of the member mods, btw.); just on some forums you don't see them b/c they have really good filters, so the trash goes straight to moderation. So you might not SEE it as a member, but the spammers might still be there. You never know unless you mod the forum.

Some forum software makes it easier for the spammers to get in than others, but keep in mind the roach comparison. They are REALLY hard to get rid of once they get into a forum. Think swat 30 and there's like 200 million more hiding in the kitchen/sofa where you can't see.

All I can say as a former mod, report their butts. There may be MORE spam that went to moderation, and I hope for you mods's sake it isn't porno/gross; I could burn your ears what I saw from time to time at RPGamer before the forums got shut down. All I'll say is there was a instance or two that I really wanted eye-bleach..

I’m positive this is the only forum I've ever seen that has this problem. What makes this place so vulnerable?
Other forums have screened registration. We allow all people to register and post immediately compared to other sites that require approval. It’s something I want to implement but that isn’t my decision to make.

That too Spockanort. I think one software RPGamer used didn't have that or was HORRIBLE at keeping them out (Forget what it was..I think it was Ikonboard but wouldn't swear to that) so we were getting spammers on top of spammers. I still say I hope you and the other mods do not have to have a supply of eye-bleach around b/c of the gross ones. ><

I also hope you can add the screened registration to hopefully be able to filter them, tho I don't think that method is perfect either.

That place. The place with the thing.
This is something I've been meaning to ask for a while, but, does text with a link embedded in it just not show up as such for some people or something?

A few times I've responded to something with a link embedded into a comment, only for it to go completely unnoticed by subsequent responders.

Case in point:

Switch to Dark Margin theme and see how it looks like with that...

Is it possible to post a thread with a link promoting my kingdom hearts cutscene edits? Is that allowed? If so where would that post be most appropriate?

This is more of a question for administration. In the foreseeable future could we potentially see a re-implementation of username color pallets reflecting breaking a certain post-threshold?

This crossed my mind seeing AegisXIII recently crack 1k posts for the first time and no color pallet swap occurred.

(my memory is terrible but it looked something like this)
0-999 normal
1000 - 2999 bronze
3000 - 5999 silver
6000 - 9999 gold
10000 - ???? platinum

Staff colors were varied.
