I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that! (=rereads roleplays in general, not just "Night of Fate") And yes, the quality of writing in that roleplay really did impress me. I think the early mechanics (deadlines, competition, plot progression) helped a little bit, but we also had some kick-ass roleplayers. I don't have any plans to repeat the experiment, but I thought it went swimmingly, at least for the first stage.

It does give me some ideas for a future Spurius project, however; perhaps Jim Barnham's Last Will? Let's talk about it on skype sometime.

It does indeed! Which reminds me (in a roundabout way) of something I've been meaning to share with you.

I don't recall if I ever mentioned the webcomic A Lesson is Learned, but the Damage is Irreversible, but it is often beautiful and surreal and wonderful. They basically don't update anymore, but I've gone back and revisited individual comics many, many times and have yet to become bored.

Anyway, that's not what I was going to share with you. The writer of the comics, Dale Beran, has a tumblr where he is slightly more active and occasionally posts essays on popular media, such as this one on The Dark Knight Rises that I enjoy very much, and this one on Interstellar that I have mixed feelings about. The second one is troublesome to me because it employs a lot of Freudian psycho-sexual analysis that it has always been my instinct to avoid like the plague. At the same time, I find the writing coherent, interesting, and often compelling.

Anywho, enjoy those at your leisure.

I feel the section itself will ultimately be fine, it's just that most of the "hardcore" original rpers have either left or are fairly busy with real life. I'll probably start the R.E.M. reboot soon, if you want to sneak your template in beforehand, but I'm honestly limiting my roleplays to 1-2.

Also, by any chance, have you gotten around to reading the pms I sent you?

All I got from the Internet's opinion of it is that Billy Zane kills everything he touches. It's imo a piece of garbage (as I agree with you, most underhanded by Douche Bird Douchertaintment) Hoping a really good studio with a good budget picks up the WoT franchise in a manner similar to how HBO works with GoT, albeit with less butchering of the main arcs - the irony of the books being so thick with descriptions and etc makes putting them into film/television almost simple, as long as they literally filmed everything at the same time, and cut/release it over a period of years, etc, and call back actors incase they need to reshoot. The Shadow Rising through A Memory of Light is literally one giant arc with smaller arcs in between, the first three books themselves being their own arc due to Jordan's original trilogy idea thing thing.
