I would like to play as Sora, personally. The main Kingdom Hearts series covers Sora, and there's not really a reason that he can't make an appearance besides in cutscenes... :)

If they did make BBS co-op, would'nt it make sense for it to be 3-player? Anyway, I hope there are other unlockable characters besides Donald and Goofy. (If I remember correctly, Donald and Goofy are unlocked after you beat the game. I'm not 100% sure, though.)
