[FONT=&quot]Angels and demons in Western cultures have been described as creatures of supernatural properties. The classical term would be divinely creations. Angels would be of the most beautiful woman surrounded by light and goodness with a halo atop their heads while demons would be concoctions of the damned, dark, evil creatures with pointed tails and horns. To be honest, it isn’t anything like that. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]Angels are the manifestation of light and goodness; they are divinely messengers that are created from our own existence. While demons are the manifestation of negative emotions and dark deeds. Greed, hatred, spite, jealousy and many more are the very things that compose a demon. Humility, kindness, love, and other “good” qualities compose the angels. It has been that way for a very long time actually until more recently. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]The old ways of Heaven and Hell have been foregone when they ushered in the New Age. They stepped out of the boundaries of more classical and conventional methods of using angels and demons and they had decided on a truce. This long conflict of good and evil had become tiresome and in all honesty, cumbersome. In essence the two factions are trying to accomplish the same goal, preserving the balance between their planes of existence and the human world. To accomplish this they both settled their differences and tied their source of existence – Heaven and Hell respectively – to Earth. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]The result being that both the angels and demons literally became bond to Earth. The angels took more human qualities and their appearance, not based on the old methods, became based on human culture. The demons as well. As a result, the appearances of the angels and demons remains rather ambiguous. They take on human appearances and they shed their old cloaks. And because they are tied to human culture they lost all memory of their past existence and can only remember their “human” lives. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]It is said that after the fall of the Roman Empire angels and demons have taken up residence on Earth. And because of their bond to humanity they hide in plain sight, taking on their humanly facades and living amongst the mortals. They don’t interfere directly in human affairs but they influence everything. The rise and falls of great empires, the start of wars, the advancement of technology, all of this has been influenced by our supernatural creatures. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]However, do not misunderstand. It isn’t like the demons have been influencing war while the angels have been influencing all of the good things. Both factions believe in the sense of balance, so they both have a part in worldly events. Still, even immortals can screw up sometimes. They are slow to change so instead of coming up with original events they tend to replay past events over and over again to get a different result. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]Some don’t take the New Age lightly. They find this Age disgusting and revolting, they feel that the humans should deal with their own affairs where both angels and demons should deal with themselves as well. They find mortals unsightly and unbecoming of such perfect creatures, so as a result they did the unthinkable. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]The gate between Heaven and Earth has been severed. Angels can no longer come to Earth or go back to Heaven. But that isn’t the worst part: Hell has been shattered. The gate to Hell has been split open and all of the creatures of the damned, even those that existed before the New Age, have been pouring out to Earth. Congestion has been created at the gate of Hell and it has swollen up so greatly that any demon cannot go back into Hell. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]The Angels blame the demons for their gate being severed, and the Demons blame the angels for destroying their gate to Hell. So, what to do?[/FONT]​

Angels ​

[FONT=&quot]The Angels have been living on Earth since the fall of the Roman Empire, but they have “reset” their existence to match the humans. As a result the oldest angel may look as youthful as twenty. But that doesn’t matter at this point. The angels were previously seen as divinely messengers of God, they are beautiful, untarnished, and perfect in every shape or form. However when the New Age started the angels became adhesive to human culture. Meaning that angels always follow humanity’s apex. Or, to put it simply, the angels will represent what humanity is at that point of existence. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]Back in the 1950s when angels overwhelmed the United States of America they influenced a huge spike in music and rebellion. So the angels back then looked like your average rebellious teenager speaking about freedom and lovey-dovey hipster stuff. At the start of the 20th century angels took on a more technological savvy role, as a result they were the more brilliant, albeit annoying, geniuses. But, in this time period there is so many things influencing the world that there is no more default angel. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]Basically, angels can now look, act, and literally be anything they want to be in this world thanks to overpopulating states and technology advances. How the mighty have fallen. [/FONT]​

[FONT=&quot]Demons [/FONT]​

They were the manifestation of evil and darkness. Their only purpose was to wreck havoc and as an agent of chaos, everything was fair game. Quite literally a complete opposite of the more saintly angel. But in this New Age, the demons have become a bit more docile. They take on the appearances of those reckless people, the ones with the clever glint in their eyes that make you question if this man is a genius or a madman. Ironically enough, it isn’t the angel that is the human muse but the demon.​

Angels advocate advancement and prosperity whereas the demons, most of the time, advocate innovation and curiosity. They are that reckless teenage spirit that makes you think “What if?!” But with this new group of mortals they think the demons are the bad guys here. They think demons are responsible for the wars and for the bad things in the world when really they aren’t, heck even the angels aren’t to praise for the good things. These two factions are merely a whisper in your ear on good ideas, both of them want what’s best for humanity, but the people they whisper to often misinterpret their ideas.​

Point is, the demons in this age are those suspicious teenagers you see in the street. The ones that are often misunderstood and pegged as troublemakers. But, let ye heed this warning. In the past there were bad demons, since the gate of hell have been broken those “bad demons” have been released into the human world. Watch your step.​

Oh, one last note.​

These two groups had amazing powers right? Well ever since both of the outerworldly gates have been broken they can no longer retain their powers. Some still can but since they are grounded on Earth the longer they stay on Earth and the longer they stay around humans the more human they become and in turn the faster they lose their powers and become mortal.​

If you are getting this letter, then that means you have been specifically invited to a very special estate. Why you? Well, simply because you possess a unique 'talent.' From golf prodigies to those with a photographic memory, any and all with that special 'it' are invited. You'll be staying in a contained and safe environment as you study and nurture your talent to your heart's content. All of your needs will be taken care of by our staff, which will be on your call at all times. Traveling expenses will be taken care of so don't worry about that. We hope to hear from you soon!

Name: Asahina Mayo
Age: 17
Race: Human

Appearance:

Her hair is a light blue; she tends to not take too much care of it, letting it grow down to her lower back. Her eyes match the shade of her hair, and always have a look of fatigue in them, as if she never gets enough sleep. Her gentle face is hardly seen with a smile; instead her default look is one of someone who is not always exactly 'down to earth.' She is rather short, standing at five feet four inches tall. Her skin is near flawless, however since she hardly ever goes outside she is very pale, and her body is weak.

Personality:
Too darn timid and nice for her own good, Asahina can't stand it if someone thinks of her with negativity. She tends to break down in high pressure situations, because of this; she can be a bit of a pushover and has self-confidence issues. Regardless of this, she still has her own values and sense of mind. When talking with others she does so in a soft voice, and measures each and every word, being careful to not say anything stupid. It wouldn't be too far-fetched to say that Asahina has a bit of growing up to do, because of her self-esteem problems she tends to rely on others, not wanting to put pressure on herself.

Talent: Asahina is a musical prodigy. She can play any instrument you can think of and all the ones you can't think of. She can easily write a song in no time and sing it perfectly to boot. Music is the only thing that comes natural to her and she takes great pride in it.

Fatal flaw: Asahina is socially inept. She has difficulty just engaging in normal conversations and will often stumble on her words. Because of this she has trouble making friends, or even doing basic things such as public shopping. She wishes she could be more outgoing, but she just doesn't know how.

Bio: Born into a middle class family as a single child, Asahina grew up kind of awkwardly. She never fit in with any other kids and would usually do embarrassing things to be 'accepted.' She knew she was simply being used, but to her any kind of attention was enough for her. One day this habit cost her dearly. Her 'friends' were bored so they decided to pull a prank on Asahina. They told her to break into the office of their school's principle and loosen the bolts on his chair, which should result in a great fall. However things turned sour when they locked her in the office. She spent the entire weekend in the office sulking and wondering what she'd done wrong. When she finally got out, she became a social outcast, she avoided people and they avoided her. Now entering this 'estate', she is beyond nervous about the new setting.

the coat he's wearing is usually black with white fluff around the edges of the bottom of the jacket and sleeves. He wears gray or black pants.

Personality: Michael is very laid back and causal around people, almost to the point where he can easily befriend someone just by talking to them with for a few minutes. Though Michael does have bad traits, such as being a sadist and putting people in situations that cause them distress. A typical sadist, though one that you wouldn’t be able to tell unless he shows his true colors, which he rarely does when in front of other people.

Michael tends to be, besides being a sadist, very caring about people. He has a soft spot for certain types of people, such as women and people who are bullied by people who think of themselves too highly, (example jocks, bullies, rich snobbish people, etc).

Michael also has a strange set of traits, including: Eating sweets almost any time people see him, always wearing the same clothes though with different color schemes, keeping up to date on who people are via magazines and the internet, and the color pink. The color thing will be explained in the bio.

Talent: Michael is an amazing writer. He can take a pen, a typewriter, or even a simple pencil and write a story that could make J.K. Rowling think that Harry Potter was something that a child wrote. Though to put it in a non-bragging type of tone, he can write amazingly well horror and adventure stories.

Fatal flaw: Because Michael is such a well-spoken person; he tends to insult people easily and makes enemies quite easily.

Bio: Michael grew up in downtown Brooklyn, New York. There his parents, who weren’t the wealthiest of people, raised their son. Though it was a rough existence, Michael had adapted to his lifestyle of being poor, and even developed ways of cooping with it. He began to develop his sadistic tendencies in middle school where he got his classmates into trouble for cheating, doing rude gestures at teachers, and other things.

But growing up in downtown Brooklyn, Michael was also a target for bullying, which only made him more and more sadistic, even causing one of his former bullies to go into the hospital due to a terrible broken arm form a terrible bicycle “accident”, where the brakes were cut on the bike.

Even with all this, Michael discovered his obsession with writing, by creating stories towards the end of his middle school years and into his high school years. He even became the editor of his High School newspaper, where his sadistic tendencies could be shown to the world. But enough about that. Michael eventually moved out during his sophomore year of high school, being able to afford his own small apartment from a majority of his stories, which he turned into a novel. Because of this, Michael began to develop his craving for sweets as he could now afford as much as he wanted as well as his hatred for the color pink. His hatred for the color pink was due to his ex-girlfriend trying to paint the walls of his apartment a new color.

But simply because of the hue that she had chosen, it made him want to burn the entire apartment complex, which thank god he didn’t do. After high school, Michael continued writing, though he never went to college, he began researching topics that interested him and became well rounded by being invited to dinner parties that his editor had set up. Appearance: Victoire has very fine, dark red hair with natural brown tints that is always falling in her face. She is 5'5, 123 pounds, olive skin, dark dark brown eyes. She tends to dress in dark blues and grays or dark reds.

Personality: Victoire values rationality and reality. She goes to great lengths to dedicate herself to the truth, bleak or beautiful, and her greatest fear is to discover one day that she has indeed lied to herself about something significant; she doesn't want a twist ending. Aware of all of this, Victoire also tends to assess others based on their rationality and sometimes fails to understand those around her who tend towards irrationality. Her strive towards reality often leads to her assuming and preparing for the worst or constantly questioning the world around her, including the opinions of those she holds friendships or relationships with. She can tend to be a loner but values a fierce friendship over all else.

Victoire is not quiet, nor does she talk too much. Though she is beautiful, she does not act particularly feminine, but she does have a certain grace that can both strike unexpectedly and elude her when she needs it.

Talent: Victoire is a master of languages. Though she is only fluent in two or three, she has an unbelievable ability to understand what is being said in almost any language. She is also very well-read and quite talented at poetry, which she writes for the Cauldron, an impossible-to-locate, hole-in-the-wall tavern that local writers frequent.

Fatal flaw: Victoire often lets the flaws of others, especially their failure to be rational, overwhelm her. She has very little or no patience for those she deems less rational than she and can lose her temper.

Bio: Victoire and her older brother Zander were young when a street riot claimed the lives of her parents who were returning home late one night. Victoire's life from there, however, was no sob story. She accepted the loss easier than most and needed surprisingly little support from her older brother as they grew up and maintained their late parents' small apartment. Zander did not raise her, his many flaws and lasting addictions kept him from ever becoming her father-figure. Although he tended to disappoint Victoire he remained most important to her and was her closest friend.

The riot that killed their parents was part of a string of riots that continued for two to three months. Since then the district that their apartment was located in began to disintegrate and grow more and more dangerous. Lacking the funds to move anywhere else, Victoire and Zander resided there ever since.

When Victoire was about 19, her brother did not come home one night. He had been gone for days on end before, probably shooting up wherever he could find a hit. However, week after week, Zander did not come home. Victoire continued to work and support herself through.. "various" means. The states of her neighborhood and her apartment continue to decay, but she will not leave, subconsciously putting her life on hold til her brother returns.
