Was it ever elaborated on why Xehanort was looking for Ven, especially when Xehanort himself said that the plan for Ventus and Vanitas, was a Rush job, what are your thoughts?

I thought that too, but Ven's heart was sleeping inside Sora at the time, so Xehanort couldn't get the info from Ven even if he wanted to, unless he tried targeting Sora, because let's face it, he very well knew Where Ven's heart was the whole time in DDD and KH3, probably the main reason why he wanted Sora as a vessel in the first place.Well, as it was revealed in UnionX, Ven wasn't just a means to create the Xblade, Ven is someone from the past yeeted into the present day. Although he didn't appear to remember anything, there could still be secrets locked up in that brain of his. If given enough time, maybe Xehanort would've found a way to crack it.
That is true. Ven's heart might've been with Sora, but his body (and mind?) were still sleeping in Castle Oblivion. Ven's empty vessel could have been useful either for possession, or again, to try and crack that brain of his for information. Ven's heart is not the only valuable thing about him.I thought that too, but Ven's heart was sleeping inside Sora at the time, so Xehanort couldn't get the info from Ven even if he wanted to, unless he tried targeting Sora, because let's face it, he very well knew Where Ven's heart was the whole time in DDD and KH3, probably the main reason why he wanted Sora as a vessel in the first place.
Well, that's horrifying, (Don't think I spelled that right), if Xehanort had found Ven's body it would have been the perfect vessel for him, there would have been no heart occupying the body, so there would have been no will to fight back against him, Xehanort would have been able to place a piece of his heart there, and just make it his completely, but that's not to say Ven wouldn't have had options for a body, there was always the replicas, but Xehanort from that point, could have just looked through his mind anyway, and gotten both, talk about having your cake and eating it too. That is true.
