Okay, I know this post is probably supposed to go into coming soon but I just wanted to express my overall excitement for both of these movies:

First:

Iron Man 2

Okay, now, I haven't seen the first Iron Man and this is always how it goes with me and sequels. I saw a preview of the second one whilst going to see Robert Downey Jr. in Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man 2 looked so good that I really want to see it now. For some very different reasons: First, the effects seemed so amazing in the preview, second, because it looked funny while being suspenseful, action packed and intense, and thirdly, finally, I'll have a movie to see with my brother. And that's a big thing with me. I've never been to a movie that me and my brother had really wanted to see. Course, now, he's into downloading movies illegally and that's gets me a little down, but I'm sure I can manage.

Another thing about it is that I've gotten accustomed to Robert Downey Jr. Ever since I've seen Sherlock Holmes, I've seen what a great, fun actor he really is and that is a big thing with me as well. I look forward to seeing the first one as well. And it's good too because I've lately got into many superhero movies as well: Watchmen, Batman, Fantastic Four and many others. So, I'm in line to see this movie.

Then there's A Nightmare on Elm Street and you'll see exactly why I wanna see this one as it is the biggest freaking movie of my life. Alright, maybe I'm exaggerating just a little but I just CANNOT wait for this movie to come out! And for those of you who don't know already (and for those of you who do, let me refresh your memory), Jackie Earle Haley, the actor who played Rorshach in Watchmen is playing the infamous Freddy Krueger and that's exciting enough but to see what they do with the remake, is fascinating in itself.

Now, I've been into horror movies practically all my life and my whole dream in life is to become a special makeup effects artist for horror films and it's even more exciting to see what they do with the burns and scars and other special makeup effects in this movie. I just cannot fully express my excitement or else this post would get extra long so I think I might stop there.

Oh, no, the deaths, the killings, seeing how Jackie and the director handles all of that stuff, it just even more exciting for me.

These two movies aren't the only ones I'm waiting for, there's also Alice in Wonderland but for now, they're the ones that I'm actually really really, really, REALLY excited about.

So, anyone who is just dying to see them, make your voices heard!!! hehee

I'm not really into super hero movies. Or horror movies lol.
I hate it when they remake horror films -.- even if the original was really good, the remakes always turn into gorey pornos that are just gore-ingly disgusting and not even scarey. That's just my opinion though, there are plenty of people that love the remakes lol.

I do want to see Alice in Wonderland though. Tim Burton always does an interesting job with his movies lol

Iron Man 2 seems interesting. Apparently there are more machines that are identical to Iron man. And that guy that played Master Windu in Star Wars is gonna be in it so, yea. As for Nightmare on Elm St, well, lets just say I'm not a big fan of Horror movies. I thought that they where merging these two movies when I saw the title of your thread.

Well, hey, isn't that what horror movies have become nowadays?

And to voice my opinion on the scariness, no horror movie is scary so why even expect the scariness??? And yeah, so what if it's not scary? All horror is nowadays is gore mixed in with sex and if you want the scary element, just go look for suspense and thrillers....that's why they have those genres.

And a question for you: if you don't like horror films, why even see the original or the remake? Why waste the time????

And apparently, I seem to be the only one here at the time that's really excited to see A Nightmare on Elm Street... :(

And to say something else: the Halloween remake wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. I honestly think Rob Zombie did a good job. He made the movie more raw and delved into the mind of Michael himself and his past a lot better than John Carpenter did.

And by the way, have you seen that movie The Thing? That movie is filled with violence and disgusting gore and that was made my John Carpenter too so there kind of has been gore and a lot more violence in the older ones as well.

You guys must have an open mind about things even if it's just movies.

Have respect, man!

But then, if horror or superhero movies aren't your thing, just don't see them.

Hooooly crap.

First of all, I watched those movies because I've had Halloween parties the last few years. Halloween and scary movies tend to go well. I enjoyed the original Halloween. Yes, I thought it was scary.
I didnt even say that I hate scary movies, said I wasn't into them. Do I like them? No. Why? Because I don't. Does that mean I'm not allowed to watch them? I've never heard that as a rule.

Second, the fact that all horror movies today are gorey and porn-ish is the point I'm trying to make. That's not horror; that's unnecessary. Gore's just dusgusting. And why do they put sex in horror movies? Do some people find sex scary?

Third, that's all fine and good if you like the remake of Halloween. That's your opinion. MY opinion is that they made some unnecessary changes that lowered the quality. Graphic rape scenes are just disturbing. They're scary, sure, but that's a little too much in my opinion.

Fourth, no, I haven't seen The Thing. But because I don't like horror movies, I guess I shouldn't waste time to see it.

And last of all, not liking horror movie remakes isn't having a closed mind. If I don't like them, I don't like them.

I wasn't trying to rip you out or put you off, I was just voicing my opinion about it.

Honestly, I don't really approve of sex in horror films. Horror's not supposed to be about horror. But then, sex to me is a little horrifying to me so maybe it is a part of horror.

And FYI, and to set things straight, no one was raped in the Halloween remake. That's all I'm gonna say about that. Just to clear things up for you.

And I'm sorry but I'm still really excited about both these movies and I feel that maybe we shouldn't opinionate anymore about the horror genre in general. I'm sorry if I've made it come to that.

I may have over reacted a bit too. I've had my opinion put down so many times on this site that I'm a little bit paranoid now o_O

Actually, there is a rape scene in the uncut version of Halloween. It's either the uncut version or like the 'special director's cut' or something like that

I guess you're right, sex could be strung in with that categorey for some. Some people do find it disturbing watching things like that. I don't like watching graphic sex scenes either lol. They're inapropriate and a little disturbing. But I don't think they should be put in horror movies like that just because I don't really see why they're neseccary. At all. I know there're a lot of sex scenes in older horror movies too, like Halloween and Friday the 13th, but at least those weren't as graphic. They were still a little bit graphic, but not as bad lol.

And I wasn't trying to tell you not to be excited for these movies. By all means, be very excited if they're the type of movies you're into d_(^.^)_b

Iron Man 2 will probably be pretty good. I never saw the first one, but I heard it was really good.
And I'll wait until Nightmare on Elm Street come sout to make an official statement about that
