Today I was playing Castle Crashers on PSN. (Okay that little bit didn't matter so much.) I met a player who seemed pretty nice, so I decided to continue playing in his game. He learned that I lived in New York, at which point he proceeded to ask me pretty disturbing questions; however, the worst one was "So do you think 9/11 was caused by terrorists or Bush did it?"

I was dumbfounded. I couldn't believe somebody could still think that way or talk about it as if he really believed we attacked ourselves and killed our own people, our own families. I'm about an hour away from the city; I was in elementary school when 9/11 happened. It was the most terrifying experience I've ever had, thinking somebody out there was coming and wanted to kill us - my home could have been next. There is no way my own country could strike that fear in my eyes.

Pretty much through the whole conversation I kept quiet because I didn't want to start a nonsense argument with him. He was from Canada and moved to California - but he still referred to Canada as "my country" and how America is stupid for allowing 9/11 to happen to them.

I really couldn't believe my ears. :/ Ended up leaving the game.

Just curious, what kinds of other questions did he ask?

Just curious, what kinds of other questions did he ask?

First was "Do you know 9/11?" Er...

"Don't you hate the US?"
"I mean c'mon, 9/11 sounds so fishy to me. You have to agree something is fishy, right?"
"When I went to ground zero they didn't let me in and were keeping it all hush hush. Strange."
"I thought the fact that it happened on 9/11 (911) was pretty ingenious!"

Of course, I'm fixing his poor English.

This would have never happened if you didn't talk to strangers.

There are stupid people everywhere. That guy sounds just as stupid as the people who say Obama isn't a citizen and that he is a Muslim.

Huh, and I thought Americans were the bigots. Stupidity exists everywhere especially within kids.

I wouldn't say kids are stupid. :/ Older people are bound to have more knowledge anyway.

Anyway, alot of people believe in these type of conspiracies such as the Illuminati.

...crazy. Sounds a bit like my friend? Except he probably have the art of tact.

I don't like researching up on 9/11 myself, because it's a subject I dislike because it seems to attack me at every corner if I want to look at the other side of the pond. My friend talks to me about 9/11 and he just say that 'it does not add up'. He does not believe the current information that's been reported and he believes there are way too many holes for it to be justified. His latest information he shares with me is that "Al-Qaeda' is a 'network of some sort invented by America [I heard network from him] and that they just trained these group of people, because there was something of interest to America in maybe Iraq or Afghanistan that they wanted, but couldn't because it could be considered as an illegal war.

I dunno. I'm with him on the boat that the information presented just does not add up. But other than that, I'm a bit dubious on theories either.

I didn't say that they were, take a hundred random kids and a hundred random adults and ask them all the same question, my bet is the latter would yield more mature and educated responses

Well yeah that is a given. They have lived longer, so they should have more knowledge than kids.

Could still?
It isnt like it has been proven without a doubt that it was muslim extremist.

I dont really think the US did it to themselves, but I am not alone in thinking they had some prior knowledge of it.

as of 2004,
30% of germans think The US govenment had a hand in it. They have seen it happen to them.
63% of Canadians think that people within the Gov + White house had prior knowledge of the events and failed to take proper action to stop them.

According to a documentary I watched, which I can link you to if you want.

The Germans have done it before. Hitler and co burnt their own parliment building on feb 27 1933, blamed it on a communist and then used that as a foot hold to come into power (this was a week before elections). It is similar to the mosque thing now. Because it is election time, people can use something to better their view in the public, by using a scapegoat (communists). Hitler used this to make the people think Germany was under attack and get people wanting him in power eventually.

Apparently, the US has also done it before. I am not familiar with what caused US to attack Vietnam but apparently is was because Vietnamese torpedos took out 2 US ships, despite no proof of it and not one injury. There were even reports by the two pilots who were flying support for the military ships that said they never saw any destruction. The media took it as a reason for war and they passed some congress-y thing that meant they had enough support from the public and could attack Vietnam.

I am open minded but I do think there are things we are not told about it, which is pretty obvious.
