Ankoku’s whole body shook with every beat that echoed out above him. The lights were low, with lasers and strobes in a million different colors and intensities. The forms of a hundred different people could be seen, the lights turned just low enough to make faces indiscernible. On one side of the room was a stage, with a large screen taking up most of the wall. There was a man with a large DJ table, and a pair of exotic dancers in clothes that left little to the imagination. Above Ankoku’s head, and that of the other patrons, were four cages, each holding another scantily clad woman. Opposite the stage, a bar was jutting out from the wall. The lights were black lights, making the drinks shine in neon colors. There was only one person there however, a normal customer probably. This was a place to forget the world. The moment you walk in the door, it doesn’t matter if you’re married, if your mother just died, or if you’re the ugliest man in the world. Here you are just another body, another animal giving into primal needs.

Ankoku ran a hand through his hair. He came here, hoping to find something. Lately, he’s just been needing something… To complete him. He felt empty. Like there was a hole in his very being. He’d tried to change his looks, but found he couldn’t. He still wore a white trench coat that covered his entire body, breaking off into two points at the bottom. His undershirt was blue, and he wore black pants. He still had a hat that came to a point at the top, and a point that jutted forward, usually covering most of his face. He tried dying his hair, yet it retained it’s color, as black as his eyes.

And once more, Ankoku’s attention was refocused. He stopped thinking about himself, and began thinking about what he saw on the farthest wall. A bright red sign that read “Exit.” He was done here. It was a mere experiment, trying to find fulfillment. A failed experiment at that. He began pushing his way through the thronging crowd, the beat only driving them further into a mindless state. However, as he began moving, he seemed to notice that the man at the bar had disappeared as well. Happiness can’t be found in a bottle either, I suppose.

Tick tock

Existance could be quite the bane.

Overlooking the city from the clocik tower, that consideration stabbed within what could be contemplated as the thoughts of Gabriel. The breeze was a comfort on this night for the Grand Marshall. What an evening for the musing of his own existance. His closed eyes were shaded by the hood of his blood red capuche. Tonight was one of those moments to be at ease.

The chains he adorned his capuche with jingled in the rising wind. Obsidian boots with alabaster soles dangled along the edge. A hand wrapped in bindings was held up reaching for the harvest moon. They were also reinforced by chains, though not of the same kind as what was established upon the earlier cloak. The hood completely shadowed Gabriel's face to the point that it could not be seen with normal vision.

Tick tock

Especially when fighting consistently against fools tends to dominate one's schedule.

Slowly, lids disclosed blue orbs of a different sort.A mutated variation of heterochromia revealed different shades of cerulean. On one ocular, blue the color of the heavens shined. The other reflected the darker ocean on the earth below. Both betrayed his age in a manner his appearance deceived others who clearly saw his true face. Deception was a wonderful tool, but truth was much more effective and binding. In the end, it did not matter how he appeared but what actions he took. For him, not even that mattered that seriously.

I believe now is the time.

Though the wind continued it's blowing, the chains no longer clinked and clanged to the breeze. The capuche stopped it's flutter. Gabriel's hand went downward to face straight ahead loosely. His eyes also faced the same angle as his hand. If one could see Gabriel at that time, he would seem like stone. A blink later, and he had vanished.

The lights only seemed to get brighter with each passing moments, yet even the bright strobes seemed dull to Ankoku. This place was so full of energy, and people, yet was emptier then a graveyard. He found no fulfillment at all within any person there, within any form of liquid or food. It was all like a mirage. Like his entire life was a blur. He stood there, in the middle of the crowd that was dancing the night away.

At this moment of depression, a smell caught his nose. It was subtle, yet intoxicating. It wrapped around him, and squeezed. The smell was almost unnatural. The scent was sweeter then honey, yet as noticeable as a flea. As soon as it had captured him, it left. For but a brief moment, Ankoku had found something new, and exciting. He had to find it again. He began pushing his way through the sea of moving bodies.

As he swam through the endless ocean of people, he found the enchanting smell once more. There was a woman it emanated from, but this wasn’t some perfume. He wasn’t sure of what it was, but it wasn’t from this earth. And he loved everything about it. She herself held a sort of otherworldly beauty. Her face was angled, and she wore a long flowing dress, rather then the fashion of the day. Ankoku moved faster as their eyes met. She simply walked forward, the people seeming to part.

The two met in the middle, their arms were instantly locked around each other. They spun in a dance unbefitting the music that blared. The crowd was moved back by an invisible force. The two danced like a prince and his princess, in the middle of some shady club. They spun around twice more, he dipped her, and brought her back up. Their lips were close, yet there was no tension between the two. Their eyes were locked. Her green eyes reflected in his brown. There was something missing, in both of their eyes. He didn’t realize how much they needed each other. He’d just met her, not even spoke a word, yet knew so much about her.

A tear welled up in her right eye, matched by one in his left. Ankoku snapped back to reality. He let go of the woman, and his jaw fell slack for a moment. The people began rushing back in from all sides. As they closed in, the woman smiled sweetly. Her voice, as beautiful as she was, came out clearly, regardless of the club’s noise. “You’ve changed.”

The people surrounded Ankoku once more. He was pushed to the ground. He yelled out both in pain, and frustration. A flash of green was the last he saw of the woman, before it was replaced by the sweaty bodies of empty people. He closed his eyes. His anger was rising. His confusion was clouding his better judgment. He yelled out once more, in anger of the empty crowd. In response, his hidden weapon was unleashed. His weapon was known as the Silver Widow. It was a device attached to his spine, yet connected through his nervous system, allowing him to control it as he would an arm. It was pressed flat into his coat, as not to arouse suspicion, but unfolded, and rose quickly. It was four, long, metal blades, that could be used as weapons, or legs. Whatever the need was. As they shot out, two women were sliced. The first had her leg cut open, the other lost a hand. The music didn’t stop as their screams rang out. Ankoku stood absolutely still, shaking slightly from his mixed feelings.

What peace had once existed upon the streets descended into anarchy with the escape of the patrons from the club. Screams of terror alerted passerbyes who watched the clients flee to their cars or on foot from the establishment. The bouncers, unable to control the crowd, also ran from their positions when they watched Ankoku's rage. Unfortunate customers were run down by other automobiles; others fell to the stampede trampled in the rush to vacate themselves. Across the street, the Marshall observed with a lack of curiosity the chaos unleashed by that one event.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It had been earlier when Gabriel arrived atop the edge of the neighboring building's exterior. His senses had led him to his new position watching the structure. Chelsea had become a temporary refuge since the Hell invasion instituted by Makyu. Even now, the location where the Gate to Hell had opened had been left abandoned by the inhabitants. Chelsea and this Earth had been saved miraculously by the shattering of the Gate.

Others have not been as fortunate...

His thoughts trailed off as something else had appeared within the confines. The detected energies were already familiar to him having felt such manipulations in the past, though they were further apart from Chelsea and its home realm.

Dimensional manipulation.

It was when that presence ended when all had unfolded.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This requires a closer look.

From his position, Gabriel could observe nothing from the situation except the now lessenig turmoil. There would be fewer lives taken with less people in the way.

Let us see what has disturbed my peace then.

With that, Gabriel had vanished once again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What first to catch his eye was the blood. As rich as the red of his own cloak, it poured from the slashed appendages of two women. The first was holding where a hand was once attached. She registered nothing while only staring in shock where it had been severed clean. The other was having success with sealing her wound to the best of her ability; it was only a cut on the leg. That victim was slowly trying to crawl away from her unaware attacker.

Despite the change in attire, recognition spawned upon the features of Gabriel.Hat and hair made him unmistakable, unless this was an impersonator. To Gabriel, he was unimportant. What needed to be done at the moment was to rescue the damsels in distress.

Illumination suddenly engulfed the chamber blinding nearly all that remained within. With the dimming light and the regaining of his senses, Ankoku would notice the women were no longer near him.

Must you cause such pointless terror due to your immature emotions? Or will you continue to give these people cause to fear us?

This was not a physical voice, but mental projection directly into Ankoku's mind. Utterly toneless, Gabriel had moved and sat upon a stool at the bar facing him with hand raised. Nothing seemed to effect his presence in the least. His face was staring intently at Ankoku, though the everpresent hood shielded his features from Ankoku's sight.
