And it's not like KH is the only franchise to switch to multiple consoles, a LOT of franchises do that.

Mind naming a few franchises with a solid, connected, linear, unfinished story that have gone through at least 5 different consoles?

Metal Gear comes to mind.

It's been on MSX2, PSX, PS2, Gamecube, PSP, PS3, and it's going to the 360 with Rising.

At least all major MGS games are available on Sony's consoles. The same can be said for RE, bar the Zero game. I've never played AC (I know, shame on me), but if the storylines of those games are all as connected to one another as the Sora saga I think that'd be a valid example of another franchise sharing the same problem as KH. Still, I fail to see how "a LOT" of other series are being raped like this.

Anyway, the decision to develop the storyline further by going back to the first adventure in more than one game certainly had more to do with being lazy than being creative. I think that's pretty obvious.

Silent Hill is on PS1, PS2, PS3, Wii, and PSP, you gotta have all of those to play the main games in the series so far, or switch the PS3 with a X-Box 360 and it's the same diff, anyway, so many games do this, it's annoying, but it works, and an iTouch to play a few of the spinoff games but they aren't cannon to the series,

Having a game grow with a particular console is very different than trying to release a KH game on every console imaginable.

But that's not what they're doing. It's only been on Nintendo and Sony consoles.

The series isn't being "raped" you're just one of those people who think that if it's on a console they hate, then it sucks. Which is incredibally stupid judgement. Just because it goes multi-console doesn't mean it's "raping the series" I swear you guys are as bad as the people who hated Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (That movie was NOT bad okay!)

for kingdom hearts I had to get

first a playstation 2
then a gameboy SP
then a nentendo DS
and a PSP
and it looks like if we ever get a KHIII
ill be getting a PS3- witch im already working on saving for....
and if I were playing KH3DS id be buying a 3DS [but im not because im done buying handhelds for inconsequential side games]

thats a crap load of money I could have saved if Kingdom hearts never dabbled in Nintendo
Series' should just stay with one damn company or go miltiplat
its fcuked up to make fans buy multiple systems just so they can keep up with the series, and know whats going on

I don't mind. Having it on different platforms allows multiple games to be made at once, meaning we get them sooner.

Doesn't work that way. Multiple teams working on multiple games means multiple games are made at once, what platform they are on is irrelevant. If all the teams (Osaka, h.a.n.d) etc. were working on games for PS2 right now, they'd take about the same time.

If only one team was working on games for multiple platforms, then it would take just as long as it used to.

That scene was hilarious! Of COURSE you can't survive a nuclear explosion, that's the point! Only Indie can. I mean, Indiana Jone's escapes have ALWAYS been unreleastic. I mean, you can't jump off a plane while riding a sled and expect to survive after hitting hard snow without atleast breaking their bodies either (Temple of Doom).

Back on topic: You really don't need to buy all the consoles, it's you're own choice. I mean, I never bought a Nintendo DS but did that mean I had to miss out on 358/2 Days? No. I would just play on one of my friend's DS when he doesn't use it. And even if I didn't have that, I'd just watch a playthrough since 50% of my love for Kingdom Hearts is the story.

That is what I was speaking of.

what platform they are on is irrelevant.
That's not necessarily true. Some teams specialize in certain platforms/are more familiar with it than others. The Osaka Team could do good work on BBS because they had already come to know a lot about the PSP's limitations/whatnot by making Crisis Core. So yes, the platform is relevant. It's why Days and Re:Coded are being worked on by h.a.n.d. who have worked well with the DS, instead of giving it to straight to the Osaka team or something similar.

This is also the reason they're waiting for Versus to be done because then the Versus team will have had much experience with the PS3. This formula is used to prevent overly long production and glitchy gameplay. Basically to make it so that each KH game works perfectly with each console they are on.

Most teams can do multiplatforming anyway.

Osaka team is working on Re: Coded. Not h.a.n.d

No, Osaka Team is working on KH3D. Re: Coded is being developed by h.a.n.d. though, some members of the Osaka Team are overseeing certain aspects, such as the battle planning (due to the gameplay borrowing heavily from BBS)

Hold your horses, mate. First of all, I don't hate any console. I'm not a fanboy. Insulting me just because you don't like my opinion won't do any good.
