There are way too many portable filler games in the series.

By "way too many" you mean 2? Really, there aren't as many side games as people claim there to be. COM is a bridge game so it doesn't count... BBS has been said a million times that it's a main game... KH1 and KH2 are obviously main games. The Final mixes don't count as "side games" because they're just remakes. So it just leaves 358/2 Days and Coded. That's really only 2 side games.

Why isn't Chain of Memories considered a main game? If you think about it, it really is a main game. It involves 5 or 6 deaths of the organization, how Riku defeated what was basically left of AnsemSoD, Why Sora entered the pod in the first place, etc. I could be wrong though...

I call it a bridge game because it doesn't feel too much like a main game but it's necessary to play if you'll play KH2 so it's not a side game. I guess you can call it a main game but it isn't a side game.

Yeah not to mention it's the only other game where the actual Sora is the main playable character aside from Riku.

I think this is it though... I doubt we'll see anymore rehashes of old worlds. We may see them again, but with different layouts that make them feel fresh. (Like Agrabah in KH2)

We kind of have to see rehashes of old worlds, cause Sora has made 'important friendships' with everyone and it would be kind of weird for a guy like Sora to just forget about that. Wouldn't it?

Though, it still could be possible for them to put new worlds like somebody secretly putting another page or writing on a page in Jiminy's Journal.

That would be a good idea. We barely see Mulan, The Lion King, Tron, and Christmas Town's world as opposed to the other worlds. Oh well. The sequence has already commenced. It's too late now. >.<

Exactly, KH1 Rehashes are starting to annoy me, (though I would like going to new parts of tranverse town and Destiny Islands but that's it,) even a KH2 rehash would be awesome,

Thats my biggest complaint! I really like the looks of coded but I would have preferred mickey being the protagonist instead of a data sora and that the message was written in the second journal for kh2.

No, there are four. I said portable games, not side games. The fact that you had to get three different consoles besides the PS2 to know what happened next in the storyline is absurd.

They go into the data world because of a message NAMINÉ put in the journal due to memories she found while repairing Sora's memories and the Data Ansem hid inside of him. The only Journal she'd have to affect/leave such a message in would be the KH1/CoM one as that was the only journal she had access to. Her doing it to the KH2 Journal would make no sense at all, and would actually just eff up the story beyond belief....

That's how the world works, friend. Making everything over and over. Besides, what's the point of making everything into a single console? What if you don't have that? Will you cry over only making in a single console? You can't do that. Also new consoles bound to move games into it. So the number of games in different consoles are bound to increase.

But still, the fact of the matter is that nearly every new KH game that has been released, nowadays, has also been held on different consoles. It's a bit tiring in my eyes just thinking about having to pay for all of them if in fact I really wanted to play these new games. Differentiation can be good, but there is a limit. And, in my mind, Nomura has reached it.

What bugs me is that all these handheld titles are canon. With Final Fantasy, there's almost always a brand new story for each game. With Kingdom Hearts, the main story has been divided between several different consoles. How can you not think this is a bad thing?

A lot of franchises have switched around consoles. Yes it does suck for people who want to get all the games, but there were reasons to get a GBA other than CoM, there are reasons to get a DS other than Days, there are reasons to get a PSP other than BBS, and there are reasons to get a 3DS other than KH3D. So just think of it as an investment.

Not really. I only own a GBA, PS2 and a PSP and I managed to play all the games that have been released so far (minus the final mixes)
I don't think it's been released to "many" consoles. Plus that's what youtube playthroughs are for. And it's not like KH is the only franchise to switch to multiple consoles, a LOT of franchises do that.

I agree. And speaking of other franchises, a certain little Japanese game called Pokemon comes to mind....

More on topic however, I also think that all the different platforms give each game a more unique feel and make them different from the original console ones in a good way. Sure sometimes graphics may suffer, but as many have said, graphics don't make a game.
