Cosplay and costume thread!

[Annoyance]

A bit of an update: Got my shoes to replace my Aranea shoes and to use for my Jade cosplay along with many others including Rao from Okami, Asuka, Vriska, etcetcetc. Red flats are apparently very common. I'm hoping they fit, and if not, I have a backup on my Amazon wishlist. I also got a new pair of fake glasses for Jade since Vriska's are slightly different.
Plus I backordered my Vriska and Mindfang wig which I'm very excited to get. There's no rush but I believe they're restocking it soon.


Also I doubt anyone's really interested but I'm currently working on my cosplay checklist for future projects. This is my personal system for organizing cosplays and I use it to keep track of items I can recycle for other costumes as well [like those shoes.]

Currently planning out wigs using Epic Cosplay and Arda Wigs. I sincerely recommend Arda wigs if you're looking for wigs. They're very good with customer service and know exactly what you're using these for. They're cosplayers themselves. They also have amazing tutorials and products on their site for styling and general care.

I would fucking LOVE to go to Anime Expo, but I can't even go to the con here in Chicago that weekend. :c

I'm going to Geek Kon in mid August in Madison, WI, though. It's not too big but I hear it's great. If anyone's going let me knooooow. uwu

Well, one time I cosplayed as a white mage. Nobody except like one person commented and said, "hey, that person's a white mage!" Though there was this one guy that said he thought I was a moogle since I included a moogle hat on my costume, and he said something weird like "you're in my pocket" and pointed to a moogle stuffed animal in his pocket. I plan on someday making keyblades and a Keaton Mask with it so I'd be some sort of fusion character of different series that I like. XD When I cosplay, I always want it to be a character that I came up with based on things like jobs from Final Fantasy. Though honestly, it would be nice to cosplay as one particular KH character someday...

If you expect people to take your picture and recognize what you are going for, it's best to stay with one focus but that's just my 2 cents. You don't really have a caption at a con to explain it like you just have, ya know?

But if you're just doing it for you, yourself, then ye. Do what you want. owo

Who would you like to dress up as from Kingdom Hearts by the way? I suggest that you style the wig yourself rather than buying them "pre-styled"... I only say this because... KH pre-styled wigs look awful...

Unfortunately no. Closest for me is white mage really, thinking of just not cosplaying this year. Or any other year. It's just not fun when you're not fully into it...

Yeah, I agree. It's much more fun when you're passionate about it.
I have a con next month, myself, in Wisconsin. I'm just doing one cosplay this time to make things easier. I do need to finish my dog ears soon though so I don't rush them...

Well, what I meant hopefully by the time I could dress as Kairi, I'd acquire the confidence to post pictures too. As of now I don't have any confidence to post them, and kinda paranoid.

Personally, I feel like it doesn't matter whether or not you look like a certain character when you cosplay. If you enjoy that character and want to express it then go for it!

And don't ever worry about embarrassing yourself! The fact that you even decided to take the time to create a cosplay gives you so much respect points and I think encountering cosplayers is one of the better parts of a con.

So lately I've been thinking that I really want to cosplay! I've never done it before and I've hadn't had the time to in the past, but I'm starting a new chapter in my life so why the hell not? I love it when I see people put their own perspective on a character and that's what I wanna do too. You see, I've always wanted to cosplay as Kairi from Kh2, the thing is though, I don't like her hair in that one :/. I want to make her more into a bombshell! With long burgundy hair, hourglass body (she already has that), and cute sneaker high heels. I've asked this before on the KH facebook group page and most say it was a good idea. So how about it, should I try to attempt to make kh2 kairi more of a bombshell?

doing alternative versions of well-known characters is actually quite common. there's no guarantee that you'll be recognizable as Kairi (it all depends on how close to her original design you're going to stay) but it'd be a lot of fun to do i'm sure. i'd say if you're comfortable and have a good plan, absolutely go for it.

Thanks . I do plan to keep most of the original elements such as the dress and such. But just having like longer hair and maybe sexier makeup
