Q. The person wearing the full-faced helmet, have they appeared in the previous games?
A. Have they appeared... Have they not appeared... I can't yet reveal their true character.

Hah, that's probably the first time he's ever been asked about DS, and not surprisingly, we don't really get anything.

Makes me more curious to find out who he is.

I bet we might know who DS is, but who knows, probably not. Oh well, at least the game should be coming out some time this year.

Just based on his answer, my first guess would be that we have seen the DS before. If he was new, then what would be the point of hiding him rather than for Nomura to admit to it? It wouldn't spoil anything that way. But, I don't blame him; he wanted to give a very ambiguous answer and he did just that.

Or he really could be new and he just wants to keep the speculation going as to who he is instead of just a discussion-killer such as "oh yeah, he is new".

Good point. But it's hard to imagine that he would think of that on spur of the moment. Though, I hope that's the case; it would make it more interesting.

"Xion: I remember, Sora and Kairi"

Is it only me who thinks that this line makes it seem like Xion is Riku's Nobody? Which is obviously absolutely absurd, and impossible. But for some reason, i get that feeling.

I'm not sure the third-person reference is the important thing here...

The important thing is, she remembers Sora. No one else remember Sora at this point, except for Namine. Even Riku doesn't remember Sora (he's just acting on what DiZ and Namine told him). There's got to be something interesting going on here. ;)

ooh. Good point.

Since it appears as Xion is connected to Sora, she should forget him.

Or maybe not. Namine needed to rearrange the links in their HEARTS, which nobodies lack

DiZ asked Riku if the holes in his memory were filling in.
He must have forgotten something.

Riku definitely forgot, probably some time after they captured Roxas, because during the fight he declares, "You really are his Nobody." I'm more inclined now to believe the speculation that something went wrong with Namine trying to restore Sora's memory, and she needed to make everyone forget in order for it to work. But she would still remember him, because she's the one calling the shots. And DiZ had never personally met Sora, so he wasn't a part of Sora's chain of memories.

I think they put that line in there to make us think along those lines. My guess is that she's telling Riku that she remembers the names of the friends he told her about previously. For example:

Riku: I'm doing this so I can be back with my friends. You know, So-
Xion: I remember, Sora and Kairi.

Maybe not exactly those lines, but you get the idea. Only they cut out Riku, so we're left thinking that she remembers them from a previous life.

I think the conversation is probably part of the scene shown in these scans:

Or the conversation we see them have in this trailer:

I'm not denying that he didn't. I'm just saying that we don't know when Nami made them all forget Sora. It could have been that she didn't until they retrieved Roxas, or directly before, or months before. The problem is that we don't know for sure.
