Okay so ... I decided to make a topic because I'm kind of really ... stunned by something that's being made from my country Spain. Spanish Fans of Kingdom Hearts are making this petition that has reached over 3000 people !

I'm really surprised how this reached this much of people since most of the fans really prefer the english dub or japanese dub.

I think some of the KH fanbase kind of got used to the dub that was available in KH II that got multilanguage dub and everyone wants this feature since this is a main installment that has more resources and it's way more important that any portable title that we've gotten in the last years.

Do you think Square Enix could consider this ?

Well, speaking as an American fan of the series, I prefer an English cas. But I'm all for multi language dub. Give others a chance to shine in these roles. Besides, tvtropes always mentions the non-english dubs under their "Hey it's that voice" trope.

Since my native language is german, I wouldn't mind it. But I do think, that Square could consider it, since KHs Fanbase is spread all over the world.

They could just make an option, so that you could choose between japanese, english, german, spanish, french, etc.

As an American it doesn't really effect me, but I feel like if there is a demand for it than it should happen. It's only fair, and it doesn't seem like it'd be that difficult since the disney movies are already multilingual right?

It'd definitely be nice for the younger fans or those who would prefer listening to the dialogue in their native language rather than reading the subtitles, but unfortunately it's not something that will easily happen. These days, multilanguage dubs are becoming less and less common for games, and the overwhelming demand for English/Japanese dual audio may overshadow that.

Disney (not just SE) could very well consider it if they find it worth their while though, so it wouldn't hurt to try :)

In a general sense, I think it'd be wonderful for there to be a multi-language dub for Kingdom Hearts 3. Disney dubs in many different languages all of the time for their films and this would be beneficial for those who may want to have the comfort of hearing the characters speak in their own language.

Realistically, I think it might cost a lot of money to do that and like Sign said, there is a strong demand for dual audio these days. If that is already a tricky thing to have on disk since it requires not only a massive amount of audio files for both languages, but also a completely different set of video files that will be rendered in real time as well, I can't even begin to imagine the difficulties that would arise from a multi-language dub.

If I had to choose between getting the chance to watch get English and Japanese worldwide over just English in NA and English/German/French/Spanish/Italian in Europe (and honestly, I don't think that data will realistically fit on a bluray if KH3 ends up being a massive game), I'm going to pick English & Japanese.

They could just make an option, so that you could choose between japanese, english, german, spanish, french, etc.

The problem with that is it seems that KH3's cutscenes will be rendered in real-time, and the audio/video data that will be required for such a thing will be rather massive. Who knows if it would all fit on disk.

Some sacrifice would have to be made somewhere, either by limiting dubs per country (Germany only gets English/Japanese/German, France only gets English/Japanese/French, etc.), only having English and Japanese, or no Japanese.

It would be nice, though it's definitely not ideal. As long as the lip synching is 100% locked to the English audio I'll be more than satisfied.

More or less sums up my thoughts. On one hand, there are the obvious issues to consider: Voice actors, marketing and distribution, etc. As far as I'm concerned, though, I'd say it could do more good than bad. If the demand is there, then it's at least worth considering.

Æ(I) would love for KHIII to be multilingual! Especially if the option would be available to all regions, and more than just 5 languages, that way it would be easier to learn languages from playing one of our favourite video games! Because Æ personally am trying to learn Norwegian, but trying to find Norwegian dub+sub, where the subs correspond word for word with the dub, is a huge pain in the ass, and just finding dubbed versions of other things that Æ like.... Æ'm only looking for subs, 'cause Æ am partially deaf, and the fact that foreign languages are machine-gunned(spoken rapid-fire), Æ've found it easier to understand with them on....

I feel ill just thinking about this. The amount of wasted resources and the amount of wasted time. It's already so complex to get the lips to match the English words spoken, imagine spending so much time doing that for several other languages? Just focus on the game, don't waste time on things like this.

Can we ban EeL? Is there just like, an easy way?

Can say the same about you hon.

I voiced my opinion. I don't like the idea of multi-dubbing the game. It's a waste of time and resources. Maybe after the English/Japanese versions get released, then they can dub it in whatever language they want, but there's no way in hell am I going to wait another year just to dub in 10 other languages.
