Well the newly announced DQ3HD2D probably also works as a stepping on point.

Honestly more excited about that one than I should be, given I haven't touched a DQ or Octopath. Aesthetically, it was giving me all the nostalgic feels of playing Star Ocean 2.

The guy was known for having some terrible viewpoints, but created some iconic music and many say his work is why people began taking video game music more seriously.

I'm not going to lie, I've never played a Dragon Quest game. So I have no real attachment to the music. But that guy was a piece of work outside of the music he made, so I sincerely hope his successor is less... whatever that was.
