People should probably stop saying "It is ___", because the truth is--we don't know.
I'm pretty sure it is. Wiki said it, and it makes sense seeing as his keyblade is squared

Maybe is EERACKOOS XDDDD kinda like marroooosha
AND FOR GOD SAKING WIKI IS NOT TRUSTABLE... IF I WANT I CAN WRITE THAT HIS NAME IS MASTER POOPIENORT
Ignorance is bliss.I'm sticking with Erauqs even if it's confirmed that it's spelled Eraqus.
Wiki only goes by it because they have two sources, scans of vjump and famitsuI'm pretty sure it is. Wiki said it, and it makes sense seeing as his keyblade is squared
yes it is. and yes you can edit on there. but knowing how popular birth by sleep, your edit will probably be reverted the day you post it in.Maybe is EERACKOOS XDDDD kinda like marroooosha

they wont write that unless inteded to vandalize the article or confirmed. That was random : ) Maybe Baldinort or Grampinort would better but anyway, serious, many people would put random weird facts on it since wiki is free to edit stuff inside. They might even write Braig is actually Eraqus. -_-"
I think that's going way too far.ansem the wise could have jsut mis named it and the real name is actually the one in the new scans

I think that's going way too far.
It's just a typo in the scans.
It's going too far because you're taking a English spelling typo from a Japanese Magazine and going as far to create practically a conspiracy theory around it.i meant mis spelled. and why is it going "too far"? let's look at Xion. someone could spell it shion or someone else could spell it "Xion"
i tihnk it's too big of a typo to be a coincidence.

It's just a typo. A mistake made by the staff of a Japanese Magazine, whose first language isn't English. It happens.
I still think it's Eraqus, because in the interview where Nomura explained the name, he said it was an anagram. Yes, his name backwards is still an anagram, but I would think that he would have specifically said "Erauqs is Square backwards" instead.
Actually, Xion is spelt Xion. >.>actually xion is spelled XEE-ON bcuz xion will be like XAION Or I dunno XD
It's just a stylistic choice. Some Japanese fans like to know the English even if it has no point to them. Kind of like how some English fans like to know the Japanese spellings of their characters names.when does it happen? if english isnt there first language than they still would have left it with the japanese name without the english. it makes no sense for them to be romanizing it if they dont even know the official name.
Why would they bother researching competing magazine to learn how they spelt it? All that matters is that they have a story, with some exclusive tidbits from Nomura. They work with that.plus theres plenty of research they should do. there are already two scans of his name with romanization.
Uh, yes it is. I could see Eraqus' scar and go "too far" by saying that maybe as a child his mother attacked him with a bread knife. Just because I'm basing something that's in front of me (his scars) doesn't mean I'm not going "too far" with my ridiculous theory.plus it's not going "too far" if i'm basing something thats in front of me.
It IS a typo. It's always been Xehanort. The spelling in the magazine is just a typo. v.vit may not be likely if it a typo, but we dont really know 100%.
Actually, Xion is spelt Xion. >.>

It's not "confirming" if you don't know if it's true or not.what i meant by 'what's in front of me" is a magazine confirming the name (whether it's true or not)
that's what's in front of me.
My example was meant to be horrible to showcase how ridiculous you're being by making a theory based off of one typo, in one magazine, where English isn't their first language.the example you did was horrible because there was no base onto it. the scar wouldnt be what i meant y "what in front of you" there could be a video of Eraqus (or erauqs) being attacked by a woman when he was a child (hypothetically) that is what i would call "in front of you"
In KH2, KH2:FM+, Nomura interviews for the past three-four years, and every single shred of BBS information we had said his name was Xehanort up until this one scan. How can you POSSIBLY think that his name could be anything else other than Xehanort? Honestly, why are you even entertaining the thought when it is obvious it was just a mistake on the magazine writer's part.it's only been Xehanort in kh2. we dont know if it always "been" xehanort.

People make mistakes. Need I remind you of Nintendo Power claiming Traverse Town and Pinochhio were in Days? Magazines can make mistakes, and honestly, that's all this is.
His name is Xehanort. Always has been.
-sigh-also i dont remeber these scans giving romanization on every single page that mentioned Master xehanort as the main theme.
-sigh-
How do you not fall down more?
If someone were to translate the Japanese under the English spelling on that scan, it would come out as Xehanort. Just like every other piece of BBS news and information we have. I don't see why it is so impossible for you to just accept it as a typo. We've seen footage of BBS, we've seen characters refer to him as Xehanort. Why, oh why, do you think there's going to be some big conspiracy with his name actually being spelt differently? What bearing would that ever have on the plot? None.
I'm turning down a theory because it's based on a fucking typo. -sigh-sigh...it's not that i'm saying it will happen, but you cant turn down a theory simply because you assume something.
Ugh, don't even start with shit like that. Or you could start questioning a lot more about the series beyond him knowing how to spell a name.how is ansem suppose to know how to spell "xehanort" ? he just randomly knew how to spell it (which is likely to be a plot hole)
It is going too far because you're taking a typo, and then going so far as to make a theory that his name is ACTUALLY spelt the way it is in the typo, and everything we learned up until now was just his "fake name" when -gasp- his real name is the typo. It holds no effect on the plot. Why would you even theorize such a thing? It's ridiculous and it IS taking a single typo too far. Making a theory out of any typo is going too far.i dont see how you are possibly proving a point now. my point is it's not going too far. it's a few inches off normal thinking, but it's not too far to be the most strangest thing ever.
