So be it. Less money for Square.
If this 3D sells less than it should, it's Square fault.
Believe me, as hard as that may sound, Square won't really give a damn about that in terms of business logic.
As far as it looks the Game is going to rock in the US and Canada, and in Japan it already does, UK, France and Germany are the EU countries with the biggest populations so they will also get a decent slice from there, not to mention most likely some fans of Spain and Italy who really want to continue with the story and are fluent in English (and please don't tell me the majority of younger Italians and Spaniards between 12 and 30 don't know English today, lol) will buy the game regardless.
The petition has now like what? Nearly 3.000 sign ups?
While for us that might be a high number, I doubt that a company as big as Square will deal with numbers below 10.000
at best if not even higher.
It is undebatable that this is a somewhat cruel and "mean" decision in regards to our fellow fans in Italy and Spain, especially when there really were already trailers out subbed in those languages and Europe at a whole gets left out on the 10th Anniversary, but looking at it objectively I doubt that they will change anything, not so close to the actual release date.
It's the finer details that ruined the localisation. They did not stick with the translation of (catch-)phrases and certain pieces of dialogue that were already established in the series. And when they started translating English idioms literally into German... -___-"
Re:coded was a bit better on that terms and the localisation of BbS was simply outstanding.
Hmh, I know what you mean. I found it a pity that the latest titles had no German dub, but I can see why they just cannot afford it for every game. The dub is luxury and I regard it as such. And while I hope that we will see the German dub returning in one of the future, I am still glad that we can play the games at all...
Probably taking part in the petition out of solidarity...
To be honest I haven't yet paid attention to such details, as I'm busy deciphering how exactly I can make the panel system effectively work.
The Analog-Stick of the 3DS really helps much with the control scheme though. Moving Roxas around with the Analog-Stick is way easier than with the D-pad.
Only the big console titles had a German dub anyways, and frankly, while I like most of the German voices I am by now so used to the English ones, especially HJO, David Callagher and Jesse McCartney that I don't really miss the German ones that much.
Furthermore, having KH 1 dubbed in German apparently also robbed us of the supposedly "glorious" performance of Billy Zane as Ansem, rofl.
That's true, it's good we do get the game at all (looks at Re: CoM...).
That sucks for people who don't know English. I don't see whats so hard about translating some scripts (Unless it was Russian or something)
Don't ask us, ask SE Europe, lol.
Although I do wonder how the Russians will play the title...will they get the UK version?
