The problem was really overhype, not theorizing. Sure, the two can go hand in hand, but they're not exactly the same.

Ya know I have a better idea instead of Sora falling to darkness..what if Sora falls asleep in the ROS but managed to wake up Ven as a trade off and Ven is in sora's body.
anything but sora falling to darkness. I love the idea of how the cover mirrors the tagline of the game, but hate the apparent implication something bad might happen to sora. What im thinking is MX/YX/too many xehanorts now plan on using sora to reforge the X blade, and the realm of sleep would be the best place to do it seeing as how it seems to be a place rooted in the past, which could explain vanitas who would play some pivotal part. The only thing discounting this though is the fact sora has darkness inside him, he just choses not to use it because light is his forte.
Yes I just realized this two. His eyes are closed, but Riku's are open. I'm just glad people are using the thread, so when the game does come out, and we see the ending, we can see if any of our theories were correct!
Or maybe it could mean that they both have different takes on the realm of sleep, while sora is falling into dream land, Riku is starting to see the reality of it, and isn't giving into the dreams sora might be gullible enough to believe.
i think it should be riku who has to step up and save sora at the beginning of 3. he should have to find a way to the RoD, and i guess mickey can help, because he has gotten there before and we really dont know how.
You know, I personally like that take on it way better than all that "Sora going evil"-crap which would just be KH1-Riku with a character-swap all over again.
Or watch sora goes into a coma upon waking up Ventus and in the next game we have to work on seperating the two somehow

Nope, the MoM is 1st not a competition and 2nd not really that important, it serves only as the background setting for exploring stuff.

So is Nomura just trying to re-create Roxas now by putting Sora into darkness again? I think we've gone through this plot....
I'm not sure about Sora becoming evil; it's just not in his character. That is a lot of character development really quickly for one game, especially since he has been so static since the start. However as previously stated that would be a "shocking" ending, but please Nomura let the characters drive the story instead of the converse.

but arent riku's dream eaters sora's enemies and vice versa?
or did that change?
No... They both fight and have the same Dream Eaters. What gave you that idea?

Just think of the Dream Eaters as the most commonly used reference for them ever: Pokemon. All Dream Eaters start out "wild", and if you manage to "tame" them, they'll join your party and fight alongside you. What you just suggested was never the case.

I can bet you that was the ending Nomura wanted but had to be changed, so Toriyama used it rofl.
But seeing as how XIII-2 used it, anything is up in the air.
If they drastically altered the ending, then the box art would have been done before that surely and then the box art might be exaggerating the events. Seriously, anything is possible at this point.
Frankly, my second ideal ending is the hippos from Deep Jungle finally eating Sora for jumping on their backs.

Every Dream Eater has a nightmare and a spirit version. Both Sora and Riku can gain every spirit version and which two are used in your party is up to the player.
yea, thats where i got my theory. sora, going evil just isnt sora. thats why i like my theory. that... and its MY theory!
i do believe sora will fall in darkness, but not too it. something can happen related to sora and darkness that doesnt involve him becoming KH1 riku. i DO think that something bad can happen to sora. why are u against this? i see know reason why it wouldnt be both fitting and shocking to see him trapped in the RoD. this can tie into the whole "light (sora) falls into darkness (RoD)" and it could tie into BBS and he could meet Aqua and AtW
Though Sors just getting trapped in the RoD doesnt seem that "shocking" or serious to me. I mean yea, he could meet aqua and ansem and start his journey, but Im hoping for something more serious.

Considering its a Disney related game, no deaths actually happen, and no mild language; I'd be sorta shocked to see Square Enix make Sora, the main protagonist, fall at the end. It would make the story a bit more interesting, but I hope he triumphs in the end.
