I'd probably play part 1 before crisis core reunion anyway. Because it will be cheaper to purchase.

I would've preffered a remake with Genesis adapted out. He always just felt like a Sephiroth stand-in which I didn't feel Zack needed. He would've been better off with a rotating cast of villians. Have him fight against Raven before Crisis or ninjas from Wutai.

It would be cool if there was a co-op segment where Zack and Cloud have to work together to escape Hojo's lab. It's a Way Out meets Andor.

Hopefully Genesis gets a better role in future parts of the remake.

Yes, there are some portions in crisis core that seems to have been shortened due to limit constraints so it would be nice if the reunion could adapt it a bit, but from what I heard, it is mostly unchanged.

I'd played the demo but I didn't get around to it yet. My backlog is immense lol. I was gonna wait to buy a ps5 and play intergrade. If the Yuffie content was sold as a DLC I would've bought the PS4 version sooner.

I would indeed recommend intergrade as it is definitely much better in term of quality. The ps4 version has some rough edges that breaks the immersion in my opinion (textures mostly). And the yuffie dlc is worth the try. But crisis core will probably identical on ps4/ps5 in term of graphics.

Ill probably wait a while then. I'm not able to get a ps5 anytime soon. I'll end up playing Crisis Core Reunion first...lol.

I'm curious how they would deal with Zack being alive in Remake part 2. It would be cool if he was forced to work for Raven. Or maybe he meets up with Yuffie and Sonom?

I am still wondering if he is in the present, in the future (after advent children or something like that) or in an alternate world. What I like about Crisis Core first is that at least newcomers understand who sephiroth is, because in Remake he is present as a nemesis but we know nothing about him which feels a bit off in my opinion.
Also I am curious about Genesis. They will definitely have a chance to conclude his story now.

I prefer him in the present than the future. Crisis core ruins the reveal about Cloud's memory issues. So having Zack in the present allows you to compensate for it.

So apparently, Nomura, Kitase and Sato did a interview for a Korean site about CC Reunion. While there wasn't really anything new, the comment about CC's ending not being a contradiction, and that we have to play to the end of the Remake trilogy to understand is interesting. I do wonder where they're going with Zack's story.

Interesting to hear them talk about Dirge of Cerberus. I thought with the change of timeline, it couldn't be a remaster but part of remake. Let's see what they are doing.
As to the ending of crisis core, I think I finally cracked it. Zack is dead. And he is in a limbo afterlife thing. When he enters the church at the end of intergrade, he sees children crying, people in distress. These could be the dead people from the fall of the plate. Maybe he still has a role to play before being able to move on.

It's so great. The graphics are great. It's insane to be able to remaster a game like this.
Zacks's voice is fine. Genesis is great. The game will be solid.

Yeah, this game is looking great. While I still am not really digging Zack's voice, everyone else is great, though maybe a bit stiff in spots.

And I gotta say, Cody absolutely nailed Cloud's scream at the end. That was much more on par with the original Japanese voice than the original English version was.

A. Consistency with Remake.
B. All dialogue that was previously text only are now voiced & getting the entire original cast back for that was likely a no go.

Yes it's tricky to label. A remake takes what exists and improve it. A remaster starts from scratch. But in this case, the graphics are started from scratch in a new engine while the core events animations remain. It's a remakster really.

You have that backwards. Remakes are brand new while remasters clean up the original. That's how it is in movies anyway.

There's a fan theory that Vincent might be Sephiroth's birth father instead of Hojo. I wonder if they might do something with that.
