Yeah, I dont know those animes, but even Back to the Future has it's logic problems.
Virtue's Last Reward is a video game that has a promotional OVA and Steins;Gate is a video game that has an anime made from it.

So I downloaded the game's DEMO and, I must say, I really like it more than FF13, I think it's better, too. Character interaction is interesting, the cast is fascinating, Noel has an ordinary design and personality, not a stock-up, pretty-boy nor dandy guy and the gameplay, even though the same, feels different. I'm literally going to buy this when I get the chance, PSN has it for $19.99, which is a good deal.

It's my fifth favourite game in the whole series. The story is not very good, but Noel, Yeul and especially Caius are great characters, the music is pretty good and the gameplay is the most fun in the entire series. It's a bit on the ugly side though (just like Lightning Returns... lots of ugly colour palettes and cheesy metallic effects during loading screens and time warping).

I'm starting to consider it one of my top give FF games, too!

Yeah, this doesn't seem as story-oriented as FF13, more like character-centered, seeing as how there's a lot more of interactions between player-to-character. And yeah, Noel's pretty much my favorite because of his personality and design. Up until now (the two hours and a half I've put into the game), Yeul doesn't attract me much, but Caius seems interesting, a sort of vengeful.

the music is pretty good
Mmhmm, I concur (but I'm not lovin' the Metallica cover and lyrics they did for the boss theme). :v

and the gameplay is the most fun in the entire series.
I agree with you here, too. It's a polished version of the original's gameplay, and they've done it great.

It's a bit on the ugly side though (just like Lightning Returns... lots of ugly colour palettes and cheesy metallic effects during loading screens and time warping).
Uh... I like this game's colors better than XIII's and LR's.

But yeah, I'm pretty satisfied with the game I've purchased. Keeps me more entertained than XIII did.

I'm trying to plat this game and it makes me wanna lay down and cry .. a lot. 12 trophies left .. 2 or 3 might be easy to get, the rest not. I need 6 more fragments and it feels like they'll take forever.
How do people do this? _ノ乙(、ン、)_

I used to not care that much about trophies and now I just wanna try to get all of them (if possible).

Also, I hate Yomi.
With burning passion.

I don't want to sound harsh, but I'm guessing you're not that good with the XIII/XIII-2 battle system? The game is far from hard to platinum. It just takes time. Some people have called the entire game ridiculously easy, but I have to disagree. I think it's perfect. It puts up some challenge, but it never makes you feel like you cannot overcome the obstacles.

Also, Chichu.

I agree. The game's difficulty was perfect (except the Caius fights, they were easy once you get his blatantly obvious pattern).

Nah you don't. FF13 and 13-2 were my first FF games and I didn't play the game for a looong time when I decided to pick it up and I'm always stuck at the same battles (it was Yomi a few months ago and now again). I don't mind if something is time confusing but for someone (like me) who usually just plays (or played) through the story this is kinda hard now. I'm making baby steps with the game cause I used to pause it with 133 fragments and I'm slowly moving foward but for me it's kinda hard (not constantly though) because I'm not used to it but I'm trying to get better at it.

Dear people who completed XIII-2,

Please teach me how to defeat Jet Bahamut before I toss my copy of the game out of a window. So my usual setup is:

Noel/Serah/Monster
RAV/MED/COM
MED/MED/SEN
COM/RAV/RAV
COM/RAV/COM
MED/MED/COM
SEN/SEN/SEN

Noel & Serah are lvl 99 COM & RAV. Noel has level 99 SAB, 70 SEN, 35 MED...I don't remember the rest. Serah has level 99 MED, 69 SAB...I think 50 SYN...

Noel has 7700+ HP, Serah is 5400+ (this is with one HP boosting accessory on each of them). I have Gold Chocobo for COM, Silver Chocobo for SEN, and one of those little robot guys for a RAV all with good HP.

I can off the other Caius forms very easy and always under the target time, but I get stuck with Jet Bahamut. So, do I just suck at playing or should I go level up more and get some better gear?

Any strategies I should adopt? I usually go after the Garnet Bahamut but I'm thinking I should do the Amber one first because of the Wound damage it can do. Also I'm not dealing enough damage to Jet B.

I don't get stuck because I don't get the battle, but usually because I end up taking too much Wound damage and can't survive a Gigaflare with the little HP I have left. Maybe I need to put a Behemoth in my party for its Feral Link ability?

Well, I thought you would have not still have either of the trilogy, but I'll help. Well for most part, make sue both Serah and Noel are at least have most if not all their abilities, so all MED/SEN or SAB/SYN, also, have a monster or two that has the best role in COM, RAV, or SEN, you're going to need those the most, weather it's building up the chain gauge or protection from Mega Flare. I'm going all this from memory and not from my guide that's in my closet, so bear with me.

For the most part, focus on each Bahumut when you can, if you are going for the beat final boss in set time trophy, then wait until Serah and Noel are maxed out. Have a lot of Potions and your best equipment, and if you have any of the DLC monsters like Lightning, Snow, or Sazh, they'll help for a little bit, but don't rely on them for long. Your set up seems fine, so just don't go for the middle one off the bat, the left and right ones will keep causing more trouble for you then the middle, Take out the left or right ones, then switch to the middle, heal when needed or debuff/buff when needed. And keep a eye out for their Mega Flare, even one along can wreak you. Rinse and repeat and you might just win the fight.

I hope that helps, like I said, this is without the guide and I haven't played 13-2 in a while, Tales and 1.5 have kept me busy. Plus limited access to my TV, long story.

Don't bother very often with MED. What works better is to use potions so you need to equip an accessory with Improved Potions if you have it (Grimoire Hat or Double Grimoire Hat), if not then go get one. Doesn't matter who has it equipped, but I would probably go with Serah for this.

With that accessory Potions (as well as Wound Potions iirc, also buy lots of WPs) become retardedly effective to use.

As for who to defeat first, I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure to at least kill one of them before Gigaflare is used. Also, I don't know if you know this (I didn't until this fight) but just switching to SEN increases your defense ridiculously. With potions, and an all-SEN party, it should be fairly easy to recover from that attack.

Other than that I'd say make sure to use accessories and weapons that specifically increase Noel's attack, and Serah's magic. Besides the Improved Potions accessory, of course. But since Serah's HP is lower than Noel's, I probably would still keep the HP accessory with her.

From where I have failed in the battle and 2/3 of Jet Bahamut's HP down, I'm around 6 min in and I'm not maxed in everything so I'm perfectly good there.

Your set up seems fine, so just don't go for the middle one off the bat, the left and right ones will keep causing more trouble for you then the middle, Take out the left or right ones, then switch to the middle, heal when needed or debuff/buff when needed. It is virtually impossible to fight Jet Bahamut until you defeat the other two Bahamuts so lol there isn't a problem there.

Well, I can survive his mega/tetra/giga flare fine for 2/3 of the battle. It is literally when I take too much wound damage that it becomes dicy to survive them and it has now become apparent to me that I should probably use some potions to fix that problem xD

Plus limited access to my TV, long story.

Okay.

I have one of those hats. I'll equip it, then. (I barely look at my inventory so I rarely use items in battle but I suppose it's not too late to start now)

Yeah, I know! SEN has been my best friend for a very long time now xD I usually start Mediguard x4 at Count: 1.

Got it~

Thanks OKR, Zen!

Hmmm whay monsters are you using?

Gold Chocobo for COM, Silver Chocobo for SEN, and some robot or something as a RAV.

I'm thinking of using a Flanitor for MED and one of those bomb-like things for RAV. Flanitor has an emergency healing ability that can keep my HP up in a pinch, and one of the bomb-y things has good stats and another healing Feral Link ability.

Yeah Flans a boss ass medic. Try picking up Odin for a Com instead. Also try incorporating Noels Sab class into your paradigm set up.

Thanks for the tips, gentlemen! I finished XIII-2 and laughed my way through the ending. (It never stops being funny)

... I don't even wanna know what you thought was funny of watching you-know-who die, everything going literally to hell, and I know the waifu jokes a thing plus the saga's rep, but you-know-who's death didn't set well with most (to which meme reactions are used, as I shake my head)

Maybe laughing at the implications of unsaid characters death. The fact that this more than likely would lead to a completely unessecary 3rd game. Hell XIII-2 Was 130% unessecary & this is coming from someone who enjoys the 1st 2 XIII games!

Arielle where you alone playing/laughing at unsaid characters death. It's kinda unsettling to think about. Probably more unsettling for anyone with you watching unsaid character die in Noels arms...

Hah, no way. I had company of my friends via text and in a chat lol.

Whoo, chillax man. Don't take me so seriously.

Since I watched the ending ages ago, it's not like it was a sad, shocking moment. I'm laughing at the fact that the devs honestly decided to end the game with a depressing cliffhanger while this hopeful song about seeing the "new world" plays in the background. "New World" Yeah right.

It's funny because it's ironic, and it's even more hilarious because this game was utterly pointless when you get right down to it.

Don't get me wrong I like Noel and Serah and XIII-2 is a fun game that I enjoyed playing a lot and I feel terrible over what happened to the characters, but the story deconstructs itself and knowing what follows is an even bigger destruction of an entire lore and world...It frustrates me and I have to laugh at how this is what we got for the XIII saga.
