If they told you to choose one between these episodes, what would you choose?

episode aranea
episode luna
episode noctis
episode ravus
episode nyx
episode regis
episode cor
Episode Aranea. The story we got from the novel about her episode is the one that best develops the Gralean Empire. And we kinda got Episode Nyx with Kingsglaive, and Episode Regis with that side-scroller FFXV spinoff.

Was it ever confirmed why Nyx heard his dead sister whenever he warped strikes?

I honestly feel like this was some kind of Versus XIII leftover. From the very explicit reaper worship in the Versus XIII trailers, it seems like warping was a power bestowed by Etro which allows people to tunnel through the Unseen Realm to get to a different point in the physical world.

Most certainly. You can pretty much tell that media over the video game itself utilized more the Versus bits than the game itself.

Honestly, a lot of things make more sense with either the FNC or Versus XIII in mind. The lyrics of Somnus and Omnis Lacrima make more sense since they refer to Bhunivelze, Etro, Lindzei, and Pulse. Hearing the voices of the dead makes more sense with the Unseen Realm in mind. Noctis being rather nonchalant in comparison to everyone else who has ever taken a suicide mission makes more sense when your nation worships the goddess of death. Notics dreaming he's in a more interesting game when the theme of "sleep and death touch" comes into play. Why the Fal'cie, I'm sorry, Astrals are mostly jerks makes way more sense.

Feels like the rating issue with reaper worship and Square-Enix repeating the mistakes with Crystal Tools on the Luminous Engine were the root of 99.9% of the game's problems.

Luminious only became a problem when they started to port the game from the computers it was being develop on, to the actual consoles. Two months prior to the game's release, the game couldn't run on current gen tech. Which is why FFXV was delayed from September, to November. It also didn't help that SE's management pushed for the game to be open-world, with a dev team that had never worked on an open-world game, and a director that only had experience with portable video game titles (Hajime Tabata).

Do you think their next game will be better?

Maybe, if they don’t have insane overhead pressure, a deadline of under 3 years using a difficult engine that they don’t really have experience with, and they aren’t condensing a three game story into one.

Pretty much this.

Even a hypothetical FINAL FANTASY XV "Remake" could be better. 20 years from now of course.

The Steam version has now sold over 1m copies, being the second FF game to ever do so (not counting FFXIV, which is harder to track due to Free Trial users).

Hopefully they unify all versions of future FF games to be released the same day.

Morbid curiosity has me asking how many copies has Pocket sold? Especially per-system.

Although VGChartz isn't a good source, even they don't have data. I hope Pocket Edition made satisfying numbers. I think it's a format that could work for bigger video game projects on mobile.

I do not look forward to KH3 Pocket Edition on the Switch 3 years from now.

FINAL FANTASY XV is competing against FINAL FANTASY IV on being the FF title with most console presence. FFIV was on SNES, PSX, GBA, NDS, Wii, PSP and Mobile. FFXV is on PS4, XBone, PC, Mobile and now the Stadia.

---

Edit:
The Stadia version has additional content, actually:

Reddit said:
Enjoy the “Crazy Challenge” content in FINAL FANTASY XV.
The "Crazy Challenge" content includes:

  • Challenge Rally: additional Regalia Type-D races.
  • Expert Duel: additional fights with enemies such as the Deathgaze that were previously only available within Comrades.
  • Endless Magitek Armour (Exosuits).
  • Magna Flight: challenge quests involving the Regalia Type-F.
