I don't know the exact number, but I'm sure there are a lot of them. Perhaps at least 15 for each character, though I'm sure it's higher...

I think it's more around 20... I never really gotten around to counting them. And that's not even counting the finishing moves that come from the different style changes.

You can name them all? Well, you can only choose one though...right?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean...Choose only one as in to give a custom name for D-Link purposes, or as in for standard battle use? If the Former, I assume only one can be used in a D-Link at one time.

Yes you can use them offline. Once you forge a D-Link, it is saved in your game. Friend D-Links can also be deleted if you want to. As for how many characters... I think it's as many as you want.
