Goofy the Philosopher

Something strange has been perplexing me since I started playing as Sora in Kingdom Hearts 2, and it pertains to Goofy. Is it just me, or has he gotten smarter? In all the movies, cartoons, and video games he has starred in, his character has always been a loveable, but completely clueless comic relief, even in Kingdom Hearts 1.

For example, in Land of the Dragons, while Sora and Donald rush to fight a "Heartless", only Goofy suggests that they "look before they leap". Wouldn't Sora be more likely to suggest this? Also, in Beast's castle, Goofy figured out that the Organization member wanted to turn Beast into a Heartless so he could control Beast's Nobody form. Seriously, I was like, "Whoa, Goofy! Where did THAT come from?"

Anyone else notice this? Could this mean something, or is it just a pleasant surprise?

He's always been semi-smart. He's always insightful in the first game, noticing silly things. It just seems he does it more often now.

I read in the little game booklet that Goofy sometimes notices things that the others don't. It's a nice change, actually.

I saw him as a bit of a Shakespearean fool in the first game... Perhaps for once I wasnt THAT far off the mark.

i think its interesting and pretty funny, sora got dumber and goofy got smarter lol just kidding, goofy is still goofy though

Goofy is cool. And you know what, that whole he sees things others don't may be a good plot thing. You never know.

Maybe my theory was true. Maybe Goofy IS an Evil Mastermind bent on controlling the worlds... *play corny scary music here*

well, i dont think that goofy is as slow as we think...i get the feeling that he actually is not slow...just plain ol' silly!

Well, two episodes of Disney's House of Mouse state that Goofy himself may be Goofy, but he's no idiot - He's just clumsy, A-hyuck! One example would be in the episode "Super Goof," where in the end, Clarabelle picks up a peanut, and thinks that DUMBO is Super Goof! Goofy just says "Aw, come on! I may be Goofy, but even I'M not that stupid!"
