ok this is a question from a long time ago. when you become a keyblade master you get to use keychains (correct me if iim wrong) and you can take on apprentices in an area right? these areas, are they like whole worlds? and is sora a master cuz he can use keychains?

I have no idea when keychains become available. I also dont know where you are limited to train an apprentice ,though I would assume anywhere.

Probably not. I doubt him being a master is a direct consequence of him using keychains. It may just be a coincedence that he does both.

We know nothing about the master-apprentice process, save that there is an exam to become a master.

And this is why we say that Sora isn't technically a master...or at least some of us I think, even though there is no master to teach him.

You can choose to govern a world or journey through worlds when you become a keyblade master and Sora(and Riku) accidentally chose the second one since they ahd no choice but to save other worlds.

Sora got the keychain because the worlds were in danger. It was also confirmed that a master either take an apprentice or rule a world( or go to other worlds). But sora/riku had no idea they could do that, also they were 10 years to young to have a keyblade anyways (showing that the keyblade was desperate).
the 10 year to young thing is here... YouTube - *VOICES* KH2 Final Mix: The Plans (English Subs) at 23 sec

Some think that the whole training bit at the start was all it took to make Sora a master because he wasnt given enough time before it was too late to be properly taught.
