Name: Marcus Wallace IV
Alias: Honestly, he hasn't decided on one yet. Kinesis was a suggestion, but he found that to be too plain.
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Nationality/Ethnicity: African-American
Appearance: If he were described in three words, the age old cliché of tall, dark and handsome would be accurate. Marcus stands at 6'2 and bears a physique comparable to that of a comic book character, while he isn't Superman buff, he is far from skinny, an ex of his once likened his build to Scott Summers (she had an almost obsessive interest in comics). He keeps the hair on his head cut short and precisely lined, it's actually quite wavy. This provides a stark contrast to his beard (referred to as the face-fro at times) which is also precisely manicured to keep from appearing "wild". In terms of attire, he basically wears whatever he fancies wearing without concern to what others may think. They are after all, his clothes. Also, while he may have superpowers, he still considers the idea of wearing a costume to be quite silly. He finds it to be unrealistic.
Alliance: Neutral
City of Operations: None, he does however, reside in Los Angeles.
Powers/Abilities:
Molecular Acceleration: Marcus has the power to take the potential energy stored in an object and convert it to kinetic energy thus charging that item with explosive results. The only real limitation to this ability is the time required to charge the object. The larger it is, the more time it takes. Most charging takes place through direct skin contact. The power of his explosions is dependent on the mass of the object he is charging, for example, a charged card explodes with the force of a grenade. Marcus can also use his powers to accelerate an object's kinetic energy instead of converting its potential energy, for example, he can charge a ring or a set of brass knuckles with enough power to level a house.
Enhanced Athleticism: Marcus' ability to tap energy also allowed him to endure an extensively rigorous training regimen. This allowed him to hone himself to the peak of human development and conditioning. Marcus is as intelligent, strong, fast, agile, and durable as it is possible for a human being to be without being considered superhuman.
Static Interference: Ability to create static, because of the charged potential energy always in his body, that shields his mind from detection and intrusion by even the most powerful telepaths.
Weaknesses:
Durability: While Marcus can take a licking, he isn't invincible. He's not impervious to bullets either. Although it is possible that with his control over kinetic energy, he could rob the bullet of it's momentum as it strikes him. He however, hasn't tested it due to the catastrophic results that failure could pose.
Time: As was previously mentioned, the time it takes to fully charge an object varies depend on the size of the object. While a card may be charged in what seems to be an instant, a larger object, for example, a car would take a few tens of seconds. This produces an opportunity for foes quick enough, to attack him.
Weapon(s): He currently carries a pair of brass knuckles in his back pockets. Also, anything in his pockets that he would be willing to part with.
Personality: The charismatic young man known as Marcus Wallace is calm in demeanor. Positive in outlook, Marcus finds that focusing on negativity brings upon unnecessary stress. He is a reciprocal person, giving respect to those that show it to him and is very curt with those that do not. He is not very quick to judge others, as it is nearly impossible to assess a person's character based solely on appearance. He tends to employ a fair bit of wit and sarcasm in his humor.
Biography: To put it simply, Marcus is freaking LOADED. Hell, Marcus' money may very well be a power in and of itself (his net worth ranges well into the billions by the way). So now, I bet you're wondering how a 22 year old that had graduated from college only months ago has amassed such a massive fortune. Well, to summarize a very long and boring story jam packed to the brim with business-speak, he inherited it from his father, who inherited it from his father, who inherited it from his father before that. What was once a simple merchant house had over four generations expanded into a huge multinational conglomerate. Wanna know the best part? Marcus doesn't have to do shit to make his money, it just grows and grows. So just what is a 22 year old with a 10 figures burning a chasm in his wallet to do? Whatever he damn well pleases...and charity too, can't forget about that.
Marcus was brought up in wealthy splendor in the family mansion built in the hills of Oakland, California. Marcus had access any and everything he could have ever wanted. So long as he earned it that is. His parents were very quick to nip any semblance of "holier than thou" type thinking in the bud as Marcus grew up. Nothing less than his best effort was expected in any endeavor that he took part in, especially his academics. This expectance of excellence had turned Marcus into quite the athlete as this was one of the things he took a strong interest in as a child. He excelled in a wide range of sports from football to the martial arts to dance. (Yes. Dance is a sport)
After graduating from UC Berkeley at the ripe old age of 22 with Degrees in Architecture and Industrial Design, Marcus had in his father's words, "deserved a break" after which he was told that he was in possession of an astronomically large sum of money. (If you want an idea of what he did, refer to the final sentence of the first paragraph.) Marcus was enjoying his break quite much too. There was absolutely nothing that he had to worry about, no classes, no coaches, nothing but him and his impulse...and his money.
That was until one fateful thursday. Marcus was on his way to Wilson golf course which was right next to Griffith Park. He was to meet his parents for a family charity tournament. He was a little about a mile out from the park, then there was a flash. He immediately slammed on the brakes of his BMW and ducked down into the car with his eyes closed, three second later BOOM! Then the shockwave hit the car, the windows shattered as the car slid back several feet, glass flying everywhere. Marcus had felt as though he were just hit in the solar plexus with a sledgehammer, after being punched in the nose by an angry Mike Tyson. Disoriented and off-balance, Marcus stumbled out of his car, taking a deep gasp at the most horrifying thing he has ever laid eyes upon. The sky was dark, save for that terrible orange reddish glow that emanated from the now forming mushroom cloud. Marcus' eyes widened in shock as he realized where that cloud was coming from, his head felt lighter, his vision blurred, his legs weakened and with that, he lost consciousness.
He screamed his way back into consciousness the following day. Once coming to his senses he realized he wasn't in his own bed, but that of the California Pacific Medical Center. His memory of the events that transgressed the day prior were clear and vivid. It was impossible to forget something like that. He turned on the television to check the news. What he then saw on that screen was even more horrifying than what he had seen previous day. On that screen, he saw images of his father and mother, below the photo read, "Billionaire Philanthropists Marcus Wallace III and wife Lillian Wallace dead." Only seconds later a remote protruded from that very same screen. Marcus went into a rage, breaking through countertops, flipping his bed. Then he took hold of a chair, which unbeknownst to him was now charged with kinetic energy, and hurled it through the window. The all too familiar sound of glass breaking was followed by a bright violet flash. That chair exploded, hurling Marcus across the room and into the wall. Completely ignoring what he had done to that hospital room and the fact that he just turned a chair into a brick of C4, Marcus simply sat in that same spot and wept. That was the first occurrence of his powers, as time progressed Marcus had gone trough counseling to help him get over the event of what is now known as "E-Day". One thing that he found to be very relaxing for him has been both his athletic, and martial arts training. He has also gained a fair amount of control over his powers in the passing months.
