I can't get sine/cosine/tangent shit. It's weird. Why the fuck do you always need a graphing calculator to solve it? O__o They give you the formula and then have you use a calculator on some problems for no fucking reason, it's ridiculous

All i can reccomend is practice. If you use those functions enough, it'll become like second nature. There's not really something i can help you with other then giving this advice.

Geometry Project Help Needed. Does Anybody know of any jobs that use geometry?

Ok, I already have a few, but I would like to get at least 3 more.
I need jobs that use geometry on a daily basis, and what types of geometry they use.
i already have architects, pilots, clothing designers, and doctors. if anyone can give me some ideas that i can use, i would really appreciate it, and i'll give you rep points for them.

Geometry is extensively used in all kinds of
design and construction activities.

Examples are architecture, interior design, furniture.
Engineers/technicians working in almost all types
of technologies use geometry.
Physicist, Astronomers need to know geometry.

Plumbing & cabling is done using geometry.
All kinds of lighting & accoustic arrangements
involve application of geometry.

Planning & construction of roads is done by
using knowledge of geometry.
Maps are drawn using geometrical knowledge.

All kinds of navigational systems including
satellite based GPS(Global positioning system)
involve geometrical calculations.

Computer aided designing programs use geometry.

Even clothes are stitched using geometrical
measurements as they have to take a 3 dimensional
shape but are made from flat 2 dimensional cloth.
All kinds of resptacles, bags, packing etc. are
designed using geometrical ideas.

Geometry is also used in gardening -
estimating volumes of pits, making circular
or elliptical flower beds etc.

Even most of the computer games are written using
geometry extensively!

yes, i googled it, for TWO HOURS i was looking at stuff on google. i needed some more specific answers than what i was finding, because i have to explain what type of geometry each job uses.

That's a stupid project for Geometry. Shouldn't they be teaching you how to do it?

A artist? With angles of their pictures.

umm...flashcards?
lol.
or you could use pneumonic devices, where the letter it starts with or something it sounds like reminds you of the meaning or effect.

It depends on the type of learner you are.

I'm visual, so I usually use flash cards and reading to learn it. If you're the type to not take notes, but are an audio learner, it might be a good idea to take a recorder to your lectures and then study from them that way later.

Also, I find it best to study a little bit a day. There's only so much the brain can take of something before it decides to not work as well.

After that, all you're doing is letting it go in one way and out the other. It won't stay. I suggest studying a little bit each day, and study something new every day. Then, later that day, study what you had studied the night before.

That way, you learn somethnig new, and you keep what you already studied fresh in your mind.

we're taking a "break from work" for the next few weeks, so we don't get ahead of her other classes, so she decided to give us a project. idk, it's weird, but i don't mind it, so long as it doesn't involve doing any real work.

Aren't flashcards good for tactile/kinesthetic learners too?

I'm just wondering if I did this one correctly.

The questions asks to express the function as a simplified fraction in the form

f(x + h) - f(x)
h

For this one, f(x) =
1 - x
x

So, in order to put it into that form, I replace any x with (x + h) to make the equation:

1 - (x + h) - 1 - x
x + h x (-These are two separate denominators, x and x + h. I didn't find the CD yet at this point.)
h

Next, I turned it into:

x(1 - x - h) - (x + h)(1 - x)
x(x + h)
h

I canceled out the x's and the (x + h)'s to make:

(1 - x - h) - (1 - x)
1
h

Next, I multiplied by the reciprocal of h to get:

(1 - x - h)(x - 1)
h

This one is a bit of a doozy. I really appreciate anyone that checks it over.
