When I meet some friends, they say "What's up". Should I say "what's up" too or "Good"(as the answer for "how r u")? What is a proper answer for it?

And in the phonecall, the one who answers the phone often says:What's up. Can the one who calls also say that?

I dunno, cuz I think it means 'Hi' or 'How are you doin',' but I dunno, I don't wanna answer two questions at once there.

If someone says that, I usually just give a concise idea of how I am or what I'm doing, and then ask something like 'What about you?'

That works out pretty well.

You could be facetious and list all the things above our heads, among them being the sky, clouds, space debris, satelites, the solar system, interstellar space, the stars, the milky way, etc.

I don't talk to people that say what's up unless it's a textual conversation. Then I just say something like the sky because it's better than not much. If you ask me people should just stop saying it, a good amount of the time nothing is ever up.

Indoors, I say ceiling.

Outdoors, I say sky.

"What's up?" annoys me, so I almost always use the aforementioned.
