And his exact words in regards of LS being Terra were "it doesn't matter if you think they are the same person."

And...? That doesn't mean "LS isn't important." He's just saying it doesn't matter if the players think LS is Terra or not because in the end we all know that technically LS isn't Terra. It's called being vague so he doesn't accidentally give away spoilers.
