Terra’s story concludes with Master Xehanort taking over his body, and finishes after becoming a thought-body (armour) and defeating Xehanort.

So Terra is really the MX we know, and the Lingering Spirit is the old MX trapped in Terra's armor? And Aqua has a sequel like ending, with Ven falling into a sleep of sorts. Okay now this is way too convulted

You must be the only one, I wasn't expecting anything of body possession. To be honest, I was expecting something like being exposed to darkness too much and it wiped Terra's memory.

Wait. What I get of it is,
Vanitas is a replica of Ven created out of his darkness.
Master Eraqus dies at Terra's hands.
Ven is the final boss of Aqua's story, but he's possessed by Vanitas.
Vanitas looks like a black-haired, yellow-eyed Sora under his helmet.
The Lingering Sentiment is actually Master Xehanort trapped in Terra's armor.
