So I cant buy a 3DS so my father and sister cant play as well as I. I know the story and everything from the internet, but my father and sister who also play kingdom hearts, dont know anything about KH3D. They are going to play the KH2.5 remix when it comes out so they'll know everything for KH3 except for its lead up dream drop distance, and i was wondering if you think that will be ok? When my family first bought KH2 we never played chain of memories and we understood the story really well without in in KH2 since the characters explained it. DO u think that will be the case for Kingdom Hearts 3, they'll explain to people who didnt play 3D what happend so my father and sister dont have to worry?

They will most likely explain some of the 3D events at some in III, but yeah like Reagan Rayden Said you can always watch the cutscenes on youtube.

DDD is definitely a pre-requisite if one wants to take on KH3. Many things are going to make no sense if you jump into KH3 without at least knowing the concepts and who's who, seeing as there's one major character introduced (and past characters reintroduced) during the events of DDD. It would probably going to be somewhat like not knowing what had happened to the other Organization members in KH2 if you hadn't played CoM, but to a much greater degree.
All those things might need some heavy-duty explaining, but you can always guide your father and sister with the help of the Internet to make things easier on your side.

My suggestion is to cop a 3DS off someone to play it, you know, get a feel for the mechanics since they apparently will be similar to KH3.
But if you don't feel like investing in a 3DS for whatever reason, yeah... youtube bro.
And if worst comes to worse, I think the beginning of KH3 will do a good job at letting the player know where they left off in the story.

I had watched the cutscenes a while before actually playing the game. I will say this: watching the cutscenes is completely different that actually playing the game, which I highly recommend you do

Well, it's true, but if he isn't able to buy a 3DS then it can't be helped. In the case that he wants to watch the gameplay and fights as well, he can easily find LPs of the game on YouTube, which is probably as close as he could get to playing the game himself.

Yea im hoping KH3 will be able to get the main details down as well. I'll watch the cutscenes, inform my family on the important stuff but it'll b easier if KH3 can provide a quick recap for people who even r just starting the series on that game, then that will work. I think Nomura will do that, he did it in his own way for KH2 and if he can do a recap better for KH3 for newcomers, people who didnt play ddd, and everyone that we should be fine.
