STILL ACCEPTING TEMPLATES!
Title is from the Japanese title for 'Whisper of the Heart'. However the RP and the movie aren't linked in any manner.
The roleplay is a collab between myself and Suzaku.

Dear Student

Congratulations! We are delighted to inform you that you have been accepted to study at Aijo Kotogakko for the next academic year!

As you are aware, the school is situated on the small island of Natsuyuki, more specifically, on the outskirts of the only town on the island - Kitamachi. For those of you travelling from other parts of Japan, we have some student accommodation available within walking distance of the main school building; for information on this, please contact the school secretary, Kato Ayako, before assembly on the first day.

We would also like to draw your attention to the school’s code of dress. Female students must wear sera-fuku, and male must wear gakuran, however, each grade has a slightly differing uniform to allow staff to identify them quickly. It must also be noted that those students in Grade 12 may wear a shirt, and skirt or trousers rather than uniform. Code of dress is important to the school, and so it is advisable that students attend classes in the following attire:

Grade 10 (15-16): The colour of the uniform is grey. The sera-fuku is mainly this colour, however the neckerchief is navy. The gakuran is also this colour, and the year’s pin colour is yellow.
Grade 11 (16-17): The uniform is entirely black. The smaller details of the sera-fuku are white, and the 11th grade pin is blue.
Grade 12 (17-18): While there is an option of more relaxed black trousers, or skirt, along with a white shirt and a black tie, there is also the optional navy uniform. Sera-fuku is no longer worn with the neckerchief - it is replaced by a small bow, which is also navy. Gakuran remains the simple, plain navy. The coloured pin is red.

The year will commence at 9am on Monday 1st April, beginning with a short welcome assembly for all grades in the main school hall. If you require a map of the school grounds, please let us know so that we may send you one before the start of the year.

All staff are looking forward to the arrival of the new students, and anticipate meeting you on the first day.

Aijo Kotogakko

~*~

SYNOPSIS

Okay, so this is a Romance RP, taking place in a school on the fictional northern Japanese island of Natsujima. Be forewarned of little shades of fantasy coming into play at times. Roleplayers will be students at a high school, Aijo Kotogakko, playing either returning students, or, preferably, new ones. We’ll have some NPC teachers for you to use now and then but you can probably guess - classes won’t be the main focus of the RP! Although, just for moving the narrative, Suzaku and I will be playing the senior staff members - the headmaster, and the school secretary, respectively. (Yes, the idea of a school has been done many times but it’s a fairly easy structure to follow.)
Oh, and once more people join, there will be more details on the island itself and whatnot, just as background info. It’s not on there yet as a wall of text isn’t that attractive xD Trust us, everything has been meticulously planned.

THE ISLAND - NATSUJIMA

There is only one town on the entire island. It maintains a clean atmosphere opposite to that found in some of the more crowded areas in the mainland. The town itself sprawls over a third of the large island, but despite its great size very little side effects like modernization exist. The small specialty restaurants are dominant and the odd culture along with the easy-going nature of the islanders allow many odd stores, such as the talisman maker in the western district and the bookbinder in the southern to thrive. The island is more or less shaped like an animal's paw, three bridges of land extending from the main "pad" like big bear claws. The middle claw is home to the namesake Natsuyuki cliffs. Travel by by tourists and researchers is made difficult by the large mountain splitting the island, and the forests covering almost every inch of the island save for the city and the beaches. The northern district of the town is actually built just above the base of the mountain, however the roads only go so far as that. The forest begins just after and contains an impressive assortment of large animals, further discouraging those not familiar. However, the blue snow of those cliffs are but a drop in the bucket of the magical aura present on this island.
Outside of the city there are several defining marks reachable by foot. Shinsei Temple for one, is located a mere kilometer up the mountain from the end of the northern district. The way is easy enough to recognize- just follow the mossy steps up until the old temple becomes visible just beyond the fifth red arch. It is surprisingly well-kept by the old priest and his young apprentice, despite the obviously gargantuan amount of labor required to do so. For the more adventurous of the travelers a travel down to the west shoreline to visit the hut of the self-sufficient hermit Pang Tan is in order. The majority of the island remains shrouded in mystery, so the discovery of new phenomena would not be entirely surprising. There is a popular beach just a hundred meters away from a western style diner on the edge of the east district. While other beaches scattered around the island would be less crowded, they are also more difficult to reach. However every year there are always students from the academy who make the trek to the vacant beaches for a romantic night under the stars.
Among the other ocurences on the island is the appearance of a snowfield on the opposite slope of the mountain to the town, which for a month in December becomes home to a small population of kitsune fox spirits. There is also an island reachable by a small boat from Natsujima that is dominated by an inactive volcano. This also happens to be the summer training ground for many of the academy's clubs.

Name: (Yeah. Make it Japanese please, that means Surname - First name/s.)
Age: (How old they are - make it match their grade!)
Gender: (Boy or girl…)
Grade: (10, 11 or 12...)

Appearance
(Make it detailed please, unless you’re using a picture. Remember to mention their uniform - see the section we included - as well as what clothes they wear outside of school hours. If you use a picture, write down any changes your character has. :3)

Personality
(The more you write here, the better. Your character can be as simple or as complicated as you like, but don’t make them overly-clichéd. Try to include everything about how they act.)

Bio
(At least two paragraphs I guess - let us know their past. It doesn’t have to be interesting, you could just be an average person with an average life, but please mention things about them. Anything to know about their parents? Are they divorced? Do they have siblings? Anything we should know? A nice touch would be including why they‘ve gone to Aijo Kotogakko - perhaps they‘ve transferred? Moved?)

Likes/Dislikes
(Do these separately if you wish, but they’re just what they say on the tin. Optional!)

Other
(Optional. Anything we should know about you, or look out for?)

Theme Song
(Optional. Link where possible. Sometimes fitting music can help others get a good feel for your character. :3)

While we’re on the subject of characters, please note it’s one per person for now. If only a few people consistently post then more will be allowed. :3

RULES.

1. No Godmodding or Powerplaying. It shouldn’t have to be said seeing as it’s a forum rule, but people seem to power play fairly often. It’s stupid. Just don’t. Don’t do it. For those of you unaware, power playing is making someone’s character do something without the permission of the Rper. If in doubt, don’t mention anything their character does unless the Rper stated it themselves. D: Three strikes and you’re out.

2. This is a Romance RP, but keep it clean, dears.

3. NO MAGIC POWERS. D: Yes, fantasy has been mentioned but PLEASE don’t make your character have any powers. They’ll be rejected if you don’t change them.

4. Literacy would be very much appreciated. The odd slip up will be tolerated, and we will take Rpers with limited skill. Use a spellchecker, and please don’t make posts that are a couple of sentences long. Do it more than once and you will be asked to leave, or write more legibly. (Let’s say posts must be over 2 paragraphs, five lines or so each.)

5. Be consistent. Nothing is more annoying than starting an RP, and it dying due to people losing interest and not letting the others know. If you ARE going to leave, let us know about it. If you’re not going to be online for a while, let us know in advance. If you can’t post a couple of times a week - perhaps 3-4 depending on how quickly it moves - then it’s probably not a good idea to join. And yes, we’ll bug you if you don’t post for a week.

6. Following on from the posting issue - rapid fire posting will be tolerated provided you DO NOT move along the narrative in the process, and you DO NOT ignore another Rper that is involved in a conversation.
For example, if only your character and another are having a one-on-one conversation, it’s fine for the pair of you to have a few posts one after another just chatting. In character of course. Just limit it, and make sure you don‘t spend all your posts talking to one person. We don’t want to have to sift through two pages of one conversation!

7. Have fun, of course. ;D

Um, you need to choose one of those characters. I stated in the template that it's one for now. Just keep the one template here and should we allow more characters per person, you can post the new one when it's needed, okay?

Your first one is good to go if you'd like to use him. :3 Just remember the uniform rules, right? Gakuran - that's this - for your guy. Unless he's being rebellious, which will be picked up by teachers for sure. :D

Okeydokey. Right, I'll post one of the existing characters. :3

Name: Kato Ayako
Age: 35
Gender: Female
Occupation: School Secretary

Appearance: Ayako is, physically, every bit the stereotypical uptight figure of authority. Hair pinned back into the tightest of buns, not a stray ebony hair allowed to casually trespass upon her almost oddly smooth, white skin, she has the appearance of an automaton rather than a human being. Although, this fits her rigid, organised nature, giving one the impression of utmost order upon looking at her form. The prim and proper appearance she gives is furthered by her choice in clothing; typical attire tends towards crisply-ironed shirts, along with fitted black blazers, and pencil skirts. Casual clothing is rarely seen upon her, even in relaxed situations. Due to her height - around six feet tall - she rarely wears heels, opting for flat shoes instead; she quietly feels she looks intimidating enough, and would hate to dwarf others further. Akayo’s figure is quite good for her age, being fairly slim, and her face appears devoid of time’s effect; many are surprised to hear she is a middle-aged woman rather than a young one. However, despite being quite young-looking, she is not the prettiest of women, given her harsh features. Particularly striking are her eyes, their shade being a somewhat reptilian green, reminiscent of some devious animal, such as a crocodile, or snake.

Personality: The impression most students receive of their school secretary is not particularly warm. Ayako appears fierce, strict, and dull, driven only by an unquenchable desire to organise every aspect of life within the school. This is true, but only to an extent.
As far as Ayako is concerned, she has a duty to carry out her job to the best of her ability - and at work, that is exactly what she does. She does not waste time with the other faculty members, simply resigning herself to her many duties of the day. The woman supposes that there is one aspect of her job that, above all others, makes her seem all the more boring, and a killjoy. The single part of her job that does this? Keeping the headmaster in line. Anyone attending the school would know that the headmaster spends more time messing around - or as he puts it, enjoying himself - than doing his job. Often his crazed ideas and pastimes get him into undesirable situations, or, more often than not, disrupt the school in general. It is Ayako’s duty, she feels, to keep him in line, and to make sure he does not affect the running of their system.
Little is known about her life outside of her work. It is known, however, that she is keen to find someone to be with; she married young, however, was divorced from the man around twelve years ago. She has no children, however, enjoys the company of animals - she keeps a number of pet finches in her office, as well as caring for a cat at home. Perhaps if others knew this, they might understand she is not the slimy, stern creature they assume her to be.

Bio: Born to two fairly academic parents, Ayako seemed bright from the moment of her birth. Oddly for a newborn child, she appeared very calm throughout her birth - something that baffled, and terrified the doctors - not even crying upon her first breath, or presenting any problems to the hospital. Something about the child gave her parents and the medical staff the impression that she had been here before, was well-experienced in the ways of the world. It was for this reason she was given her name, ‘Ayako’, meaning ‘scholarly child’.
The girl lived up to her name throughout her childhood. She was a very early developer in terms of communication skills, and independence. As a result, she caused little fuss with her parents, and required very little teaching in terms of manners, etiquette, and proper behaviour. In school, she prospered, quickly becoming top of the class in most areas. It seemed an unquenchable desire for knowledge lurked within her organised head - she loved to learn, making school easy for her. Although, it tended to somewhat alienate her from her classmates.
During her own years in high school, she tended to restrict herself in terms of academics. Now a self-conscious teenager, desperate - as many teenage girls are - to become popular amongst other students, she deemed it necessary for her social life that she stopped herself from racing ahead of her classmates. For a while, her theory worked. The other girls began to notice her, and spend time with her, and many of the boys her age began to find her very attractive. Ayako loved this attention even more than the attention she got for being so smart; it was one thing to be held in regard by those older and wiser, but another to be accepted and considered a good person by those her own age. Time she used to spend studying and bettering her mind was now spent going out to various social destinations with her new-found friends and boyfriend.
It was deemed a shame that she did so badly in her final exams.
Ayako’s final test results were horrible. The girl once predicted to become a doctor, politician, or scientist was now doomed to a life in what many would consider to be ’normal’ jobs. All of a sudden, the life of social popularity did not seem so attractive - especially not now that her friends had gone their separate ways after high school. Many of them went to college, others went on to well-paid jobs. Ayako was left in her own little town, with no-one beside her but her parents, who merely stated that it was all her own doing.
She knew they were right. She knew it was her own fault. To this day, she regrets putting mindless popularity over academic achievement. The rational part of her wonders why she did not simply balance the two aspects of her life, as most young women did. After a few weeks of moping, she eventually accepted that her parents were right, and that she should have focused upon her studies a bit more. Ayako began to apply for jobs, and her first was found as a librarian. It was not the most stimulating of jobs, but it was in this position that she rediscovered her natural skills in organisation. Everything just seemed so… easy. Filing, paperwork, computing, all of it was done with speed and efficiency, leaving her co-workers in her wake.
It was during her time in this job that she met her soon-to-be husband. Takada Akira. A seemingly kind man, he had merely popped into the library to return a book for his mother. She had not been well, and despite living in the same town as the library, was unable to leave the house to return her borrowed book. Akira took a liking to Ayako almost instantly, and after the dealings with the book were done - including a wavered late fee - he invited her to dinner. It turned out the man was a fairly wealthy businessman, hailing from a large city upon a neighbouring island. The pair spent much time together, before he asked for her hand in marriage. Besotted with the man - despite their young age, a mere twenty - she accepted, and the pair were married in a small ceremony. They then moved in together, into a small apartment in the city. Of course, Takada Ayako had to quit her job, to find another that was closer to her new home. A few days was all it took for her to find a fairly profitable position as a secretary in one of the area’s many prosperous businesses.
For the first year, all was well. Both worked, then came home to spend time with one another. Spare time was spent side by side. However, as the years passed, Akira’s position as a businessman seemed to ascend. He had been successful from a young age - having attended a business school from the age of twelve - however, his prosperity and power began to increase with the passing months. Ayako, being his doting wife, was incredibly happy for him at first. Then he stopped coming home at night. It seemed increased power required increased work, and the man had little time to spend at home any longer. Sleep was done in the office, so that he could work at any time if needs be. Worse still, when he did come home, he was in a foul mood, clearly sleep-deprived, and, worse still, disinterested in Ayako’s efforts to take his mind off his job. In fact, he was disinterested in her entirely. It seemed he didn’t want to take his mind from his job.
Ayako, desperate to keep her husband, resigned herself to knowing that his job was more important to him than her. Any self-respecting woman would leave such a creature, but Ayako, young, idealistic, and, well, in love, remained with him, working through the day, and spending her nights alone. His brief visits home were not much comfort to her. It took quite some time for her to realise that Akira was no longer the man she loved. He was ruthless. Selfish. Irritable. Violent. Now twenty-three, having spent three years in marriage - yet only enjoying one - she made a decision. She had to leave, for both their sakes. Yes, she still loved him, but the fact was, if he loved his job, and money more then he did her, then there would be no getting through to him. She tried to talk to him, tried to work things out, but was met with simple anger time after time.
She left the apartment, left the city, and the island for her home, buying a small house in her hometown. The divorce was worked out, both were given what they deserved, and the two went their separate ways. Obviously being unemployed once more, Ayako soon found an ad for a school secretary. She went for interview, and received the job very quickly. She now lives close to the school grounds, where she can keep an eye upon things. Ayako was always organised and somewhat firm, but she has lost the more outwardly-light hearted part of herself. The woman now keeps thoughts of romance and fun to herself, although secretly longing to relive the days of her youth.

Likes: Ayako’s likes include animals, fine dining, music - particularly dance music, which some find hard to believe - and the film industry. She loves movies of all types, and is one to take particularly close attention to actors, directors and whatnot. Those few people that actually sit and watch the credits after a movie? Ayako is among them. Food is something she loves - despite her skinny frame - and it is easy to win her over with fine food; or rather, good desserts. Despite this she is poor at cooking herself and so makes do with cheap, microwave-ready meals. Birds and cats are her favourite animals, she keeps a cat at home, and a cage of finches in her office. Her cat is known as Itazura. She finds the company of animals very therapeutic.

Dislikes: Ayako hates dogs, plain and simple. As a child, she was constantly pestered by her neighbour’s boisterous golden retrievers, and so she grew up with a dislike for the creatures. She understands now that they were simply friendly - after all, the breed is not known for vicious behaviour - but it has still left her shaky with canines of all shapes and sizes. Barking sets her on edge. Her other dislikes include people with a silly sense of humour - she finds slapstick comedy pathetic - and people who are incredibly opinionated. While loving to talk with those who are passionate about a chosen subject, she hates those that attempt to force their opinions on others. Ayako is terrified of small insects and is sent into a panic by things such as ants, moths, or spiders. Even butterflies frighten her.

Umm....
Name: Sakura Tanaka
Age: 16
Gender: Girl
Grade: 11th

Appearance: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/xjen16xx/normal.jpg
Entire uniform is black with a blue pin

http://lh4.ggpht.com/elaing.zhang/RzKJE33O4cI/AAAAAAAAGLE/7NWO9nwyHIA/s800/001.jpg
A dancer outfit when outside of school, except the shirt is blue instead of green.

Personality: Sakura is a very shy and quiet girl. Often times when she meets new people, she won't really talk much, but once she gets to know them, she'll start to open up little by little. She is the kind of person that enjoys helping people in their times of needs and tries to be there for her friend as much as she can. Sakura is very trustworthy, honest, and loyal towards everyone. She is also the kind of person that is responsible of herself and in everything she does. She tries to finish all the works that she started, but mostly, she tries to be responsible for her actions and for the words that she says

Bio: Sakura has a normal life of a regular teenager. She attended a regular high school, had friends to hang out with, and lived with her parents. Although she doesn't have any siblings, she never really felt alone because of the school activities she was involved in school. She was part of a dance team at her school, had tutor sessions for other students, and sometimes just hung around after school to hang out with her friends. Sakura was satisfied with the life she had now, until recently she received a letter from the Aijo Kotogakko academy. At first, she was shocked by receiving a letter from that academy but afterwards was happy about it. After talking it over with her parents, they agreed to let her attend there, thinking that it might be a good experience for her before she goes to college.

Of course, the thought of moving to Japan scared her at first and it also made her wonder about the choice she had made. Going to her school for one last time, Sakura was going to miss all the excitement she had at this school from being involved in many things. Thinking about those times made her not want to go even more, but she knew that it was good for her future. On the last night she had with her parents, they told her the place she would be living, which was not too far away from the school, and just information they heard about the school. Hearing the good reputation the school had, Sakura was excited to leave and start her new life in Japan.

Likes: Sakura loves dancing. Dancing is her passion and will be that way until she stops dancing. She also loves singing, especially with her guitar. Being the artistic person that she is, she enjoys drawing, pottery, origami, writing stories and many more, but the one thing she enjoys the most is making movies. Aside from dancing being her passion, making movies and such would be her second passion.

Dislikes: Sakura was never really fond of any types of insects. She also dislikes people who "show-off" too much or those who are full of themselves.

Name: Akimaru, Roji
Age: 17
Gender: Boy
Grade: 12

Appearance
Orphen image by bloomenchantix on Photobucket

Personality
He often tends to a man of voiced oppinion, letting others know what he thinks of them. Although thats not all thats to him. He tends to be quick witted and a bit of a free thinker. It is impossible to put this guy under pressure. As he tends to put it back on the person three fold.

Bio:
"What is it now?" yelled Roji from his room, where he spent many of his days thanks to previous pricipals. "Your going to this school and thats it Roji!" yelled his mother from the door. as he had locked the door. She slipped the letter underneath the door. He picked it up and skimmed over the letter with his eyes. An Island? he thought to himself quickly. This could be fun. It was obvious that he would have to stay in the student accomadation there. He sighed and put the letter on his unused desk before laying down his head and putting his headphones on. allowing himself to drift off slowly to sleep.

He was woken rudely by his mother who had already packed his clothes and uniforms. It was obvious she was anixous to get rid of him. He lifted his briefcase bag over his shoulder and walked out the door of his room towards the car. He was going to this new school and there was nothing he could do about. Well for now there wasn't.

Waiting on you, dear.
Here's mine, I'm still working on it, but I'm almost done. ^^
---------------------------------------

Name: Fukui Yuuna

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Grade: 11

Appearance:
Casual: During the hours when Yuuna is not at school, she usually likes to be comfortable. Anything soft and loose-fitting will do. She loves wearing cozy sweaters.

Personality: Yuuna is a reserved, artistic sort of girl. She has a hard time showing her feelings and will only open up to someone once she feels genuine sincerity. Once Yuuna considers someone a friend, she is extremely loyal.

Bio: Yuuna was born in Hokkaido, so she grew up used to cool weather. Her father is an architect for a major design firm and her mother is a stay at home mom. Her childhood was rather uneventful and she spent her days either in the park befriending stray animals, or playing videogames in her room. On her 15th birthday, Yuuna’a parents announced to her that they were getting a divorce. When she asked the reason, she was informed that it wasn’t for her to know. It was a nasty divorce and when it was over, she went to live with her father in the outskirts of Tokyo. Since then she has visited her mother in Hokkaido the first weekend of every month, and now that she is getting older, she wants to live closer to her mother so she passed the exams and will be attending Aijo Kotogakko SR. High as a junior.

Likes: Drawing/reading manga, watching anime, any type of food, curling up by the fire with a good book, music, playing guitar, video games

Dislikes: Narcissistic people, bugs, shots

Other: Yuuna enjoys all sorts of odd food combinations, and often cooks her recipes for her friends, who have yet to reject her food.

Finding peace in a twisted world.
Nice picture Shattered. I'm actually a huge fan of the series. <;3

Aaaaaand here is your venerable and respected headmaster!!!

Name: Sanjuro Kirin
Age: Unknown.... anywhere from twenty-two to forty eight.
Gender: He claims to be male, but there have been rumors that he's actually an asexual alien.
Grade: Mentally he's a third-grader. In reality.... Well, he's the headmaster.

Appearance
Headmaster.jpg

This is everything Kirin wears. The sake bottle is actually filled with molasses and the little puppy with the swirly hair is named Sanjuro, after the character from Yojimbo. His eyes are very rarely seen as they are curtained off by his mussed hair. His face is usually set in either a sardonic smirk, a disinterested line, or in the case of accidentally walking in on either Ayako or Haruka taking a shower, one of sheer terror.

Personality
Kirin is a moron within a moron. Completely random and ridiculous, he always manages to get
himself into situations formerly thought either impossible or just incredibly improbable. He's also something of a peeping tom, the only difference being that one can never tell whether he's looking at you or not. He has most recently become infatuated with Zen gardens and as such had his office transformed into one, much to the dismay of his secretary. He also has a few out of the ordinary hobbies which include fishing on the roof of the school. (For stray schoolgirl swimsuits.)

Bio
Despite his affinity for poorly orchestrated slapstick comedy, Kirin remains something of an enigma to the people of Natsujima. He arrived roughly twenty years ago by drifting ashore after his small rowboat had wrecked on the deadly reefs just off the coast. His first words after waking up on the island were, " Why is it that heaven is always on an island?" He spent a good ten years annoying the towns people with all sorts of pranks and good-natured fun. It wasn't until he had accumulated two million yen in skipped bills, had thirty two accounts of voyeurism, and had managed to burn down the shrine to the sea god on the Natsuyuki cliffs that the townspeople decided they had put up with his antics long enough. As punishment he was forced to head the newly erected school and serve as its headmaster for fifty years. Now what exactly the poor sap who had conjured up that idea was thinking remains to be seen, as the ludicrous nature of the self-proclaimed "Man of Natsujima" would most certainly infect the minds of their impressionable youth. Perhaps this was his devious plan all along?

Likes/Dislikes:
The flamboyant young(?) headmaster has an oddly sweet tooth when it comes to food. Taiyaki is definitely his favorite and he has been known to put sweet bean paste in his ramen. Also likes curry and sake, but can't keep either of them from respectively burning his mouth to the point where he collapses or becoming hopelessly drunk. His type is the foxy kind. No really. He likes mystical fox girls.

Other
Flying headmasters should be avoided at all costs to prevent temporary damage to the cranium or just general annoyance.

Theme Song
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, naturally.

up it goes! some parts still need to be edited, which i will do so soon

Name: Shizumaki, Midori
Age: 16
Gender: girl
Grade: 11

Appearance:
school.jpg

Casual: For her casual dress, she normally wears what is in her picture, but with a simpler bow that is green in color.

Personality:
Her personality is somewhat of an enigma, she has many sides to her that mature throughout the story. She is normally a withdrawn person until she gets to know somebody, never letting her true shyness melt away until she knows she has a friend. She is a bit akward in crowds of strangers, but will completely open up among friends. As much as depends on others for her security, she likes to be alone. It gives her time to think and reflect.

When surrounded by people, she can become outoing and spontaneous. In fact, she loves to preform for others, but usually only if its people she is comfortable around. She is intellectual and likes to think through decisions before making them, but she can also make rash actions. She can also have a big mouth, but she is trustworthy and honest for the most part. She may seem innocent on the outside, but on the inside, a rebellious and care free girl longs to break away.

Bio:
Midori's great grandmother was one of Japans most popular geisha. She was a great entertainer, and became extremely welathy. This wealth, talent, and beauty, was passed down the generations to Midori. She had lived most of her life in the Gion district, where her great grandmothers okiya had been, but they recently moved from the area and are now currently living by her new school. She has an older brother named Kaede, who is 18. He ran away from home at the young age of 13, and his whereabouts are unknown to his family.

Her family is very traditional in Japanese culture, so they are somewhat strict. She lives a sort of "double life", one in which she is her parents treasured and cultured, innocent daughter, the other where she is care free and disregarding to authority and rules. She has always been a bright pupil, and studied hard in her schooling. Her parents want her to become a successful doctor, but she would rather be a preformer.

Likes/Dislikes:
Likes: watching anime, reading manga, breaking rules, singing, dancing, swimming, music, getting high marks, shopping, rain BOYS! =D

Dislikes: Smelly people, long beards and curly mustaches, spiders, snakes, tuna, people who never stop talking, losing things, anything "country"

Other:
SHE IZ A MAGIK WITCH FROM ANUTHR PLANIT!!!
lulz, jk, nothing else really

Finding peace in a twisted world.
Nicely done Sorox, but just one thing.

Some of the more private japanese schools don't allow part-time jobs after school. You can either have Misaki just work on weekends or you can come up with one inventive ways for her to escape the teacher's notice. ;D

Of course that doesn't matter if "work kimono" doesn't mean what I think it does. XD (This is just an FYI in case someone wants to have a part-time job, for the rest of you too.)

Here's another character... my main one. Sorry this is so hideously long. D: If you can't bear to read just let me know and I'll write out a summary. n_n;

Name: Kobayashi Yoichi
Age: 15 - turns 16 on the first day of school
Grade: 10
Gender: Male

Appearance: Yoichi is fairly unremarkable in terms of looks. The eldest of his year - he turns 16 on the first day of term - he does not appear much older than his classmates. If anything, he appears younger! He is around 5’8 in height, and his build is average, verging upon skinny. The boy often has a sickly, pasty look, however, this is down to various ailments, not to mention the amount of medicine thrust into his system upon a daily basis. Having a fairly round facial shape - due to bone structure rather than plain chubbiness - he does not appear thin upon first glance, given that his clothes hide his slightly bony frame. Although being quite fretful when it comes to his appearance, taking good care of himself, he has horribly dry hair. His black locks hang about his face to his shoulders - although being tied into a much neater ponytail during school hours - and it is fairly obvious that it is in quite bad condition. It appears straw-like, and dull even in bright light. Despite his eyes being very vivid upon his birth, they appear just as muted in their colour as his hair. His eyes should be a smoky blue however they appear to be light in their hues - almost light enough to suggest albinism were it not for his black hair, and particularly long, dark eyelashes. Yoichi wears his grade’s grey gakuran at school, and outside of school he tends to wear much more casual attire. Cargo pants are usually the option - the thinner kind, not the type made of bulky fabric - if he is not wearing jeans, along with fitted t-shirts. Shoes range from trainers to boots, slippers to the plain ole soles of his feet. If it is cold - which it is quite often - he can usually be seen in a black, hooded duffle coat, along with a navy hat - complete with ear-flaps - and a matching scarf.

Personality: While it could never be said that Yoichi is antisocial, it is clear he is unsure of himself around other people his own age. The boy is lacking in some social skills - this ranges from his own inability to understand, to simply not understanding the meaning of his classmates’ words and actions. This is down to his extensive treatments as a growing child. It is known that the majority of a child’s development is done before the age of five - in both terms of intelligence and social skills - and while it can easily be said Yoichi is exceptional in the former, he is less successful in terms of the latter. Being isolated from other children at such a young age has left him awkward and to some extent, socially inept. He tended to be very quiet around other children during short times around them, or would panic at seeing them, unsure of how to cope with someone that was not an adult - after all, he had seen no person but an adult since a very young age.
Upon reaching thirteen, and being allowed to rejoin classmates, it was clear he did not fit in. Although he thought himself to be doing well to blend in at first, the other teenagers knew he was incredibly naïve. Most understanding his situation would offer sympathy, however, it was not long before Yoichi was entirely ignored by his class. It seemed he had gone from one state of isolation to another. It was not that they did not want to get to know him, or understand him - it was simply that he was too awkward for them to feel like they were making any sense to him. He would make comments unrelated to conversation, or simply not respond at all. Due to such symptoms, doctors worried he had a form of autism. Some claimed him to be an autistic savant; despite being incredibly poor when it came to talking of emotion, and discussing daily matters, he was quick when it came to factual information and schoolwork.
It was then that he became conscious of himself. Yoichi was very perceptive, and had noticed his own behaviour to be very different to others. From then on, he found himself consumed with worry, spending most of his time working out ways that he could be like the others. He became quite absorbed with the way he looked at first. One assuming him vain would be very wrong; Yoichi simply wanted to make sure he did not stand out in a physical way. It was hard given his various scars, his generally sickly looks, and his paleness. Through copying the other students and the way they acted and spoke with one another, he gradually learned methods of communication that others would understand and would not find odd. Unfortunately this did not work well at first, and he did not manage proper conversational skills until reaching 9th Grade.
Now, Yoichi is able to communicate fairly easily with those his age, although he sometimes has difficulty with complicated emotion, or ambiguous statements. His past has left him quite introverted as well as reluctant to socialise - simply because he worries that he won’t be accepted. However, those not knowing his past would never suspect anything given the way he is now - he acts like a regular high-school student. He tends to slip up from time to time, which is probably why he worries; these days, his mistakes tend to be letting slip things that should really be kept a secret, or reacting adversely to emotional situations - for example, he tends to laugh at things that are in no way amusing, things that are in fact tragic. It is not down to cruelty, it is simply that he is unsure of how he should react. Thankfully this sort of thing is rare now, with the only remnants of his lacking social skills being his severely introverted nature.
In short, Yoichi is a quiet, reserved boy. He is polite, kind, and caring to family and friends provided they show him the same. He excels at school, but finds social interaction with others quite daunting. He does enjoy talking to others and in fact would love nothing more than to have his own friends, but his fear of rejection tends to hold him back. The boy is somewhat of a dreamer, and there is a side to him that craves romantic attachment; he would love to find someone that would adore him for what he is, and would tolerate his little ‘quirks’, as he calls them.

Bio: Yoichi’s parents were a pair of office workers. Not rich, but not poor either, the two lived in the outskirts of Tokyo, commuting to the city itself daily to work. Although having been in a relationship for ten years, the two had not married, but lived together. When his mother announced her pregnancy, his father was overjoyed, and they immediately began to make preparations for their new child. Selling their small apartment, they put a payment down upon a house in the same area, quickly adapting themselves for life with a baby. Supplies were bought as the months went on, both becoming more and more excited as the due date grew closer. Unfortunately, Yoichi’s mother, Chiyoko, had been fairly ill during her pregnancy, seemingly struck down by one illness after another. Doctors assured her and her husband many times that both Chiyoko and her baby would be fine, so the two did their best not to fret.
Chiyoko went into labour around three weeks early, and Yoichi was born merely hours after the first signs of labour appeared to his mother. Other than being a bit small, he seemed perfectly fine, and so was taken home when he was a few days old. However, he was back in hospital as quickly as he left. Doctors assumed that this might have been a case of the child failing to thrive, but the repeated illnesses seemed incredibly odd to his parents - especially as he seemed able to continue to eat and grow. It eventually got to the point where Yoichi would become ill on the way home from hospital stays, only getting better once he returned to the place to be treated. Doctors decided it best that Yoichi spent some time living in the hospital while they monitored him, attempting to find the source of his sickliness. Hoping their son would be alright, his parents agreed, leaving him under constant care from the doctors. Of course, they were there as often as possible to raise their child.
After months of care, monitoring, and testing, it was deemed that Yoichi’s immune system was incredibly weak. He was susceptible to most illnesses, and did not seem to become resilient the way other babies did as they grew. Until something could be found to cure his system, strengthen it, or at least medicate it, it seemed Yoichi had to stay in his sterile environment alone. It was heartbreaking for his parents, who could spend minimal time with him - only after being entirely cleaned, and changed into sterile clothing - and simply had to watch as he grew up alone. Their only comfort was knowing his education would not suffer. They read to him very often through a speaker, as well as teaching him to read and write when they could get into his room. They taught him to speak, too - something he was capable of, but did very little. His education was taken over by computers and television screens once he reached school age, accompanied by a tutor who taught him for a total of three hours a day. The boy was found to be very intelligent, but did not grasp proper human communication. He could speak, and understand, but found it hard to use the mechanics of conversation. He made irrelevant points, brought up unrelated subjects, ignored plain conversation not relating to fact, and rarely replied to questions regarding himself or his emotions - the only feelings he mentioned were physical ones.
Eventually a cocktail of drugs was put together that allowed Yoichi immunity to the most common of illnesses. His daily dose of medication would be huge, but it would allow him to be able to live a relatively normal life. Sadly, it had taken until the boy was twelve for this to happen, and it was quickly apparent that his years of isolation had somewhat stunted his social growth. The children of Tokyo did not seem to understand him well, despite his best efforts. Although he did well in learning from them, it seemed they had distanced themselves from him so much that he could not begin to befriend them. It was then that Yoichi’s parents decided they should move to somewhere quieter - Natsujima, a little island to the far north of Japan. His father’s parents lived there themselves, in a small town named Kitamachi. Aijo Kotogakko was Yoichi’s assigned school once they had moved, and he is due to begin his first year there - tenth grade - soon. He hopes to fit in amongst his new classmates.

Likes: Yoichi is at his happiest when he is outside. Being cooped up for so long gave him a craving to see the natural world in all of its splendour, and to spend as much time outside as he can. He does this by jogging regularly - usually every morning, or in the evening - and going on long walks. A related like of his is dogs. His earliest memory other than being in hospital is being with his father’s loyal dog, Oji, a mongrel the man had taken home after finding him in a back alley. When Yoichi was born, Oji followed the boy wherever he went. When Yoichi was put to bed, Oji settled himself to sleep beneath the cot. Wherever the baby went, the dog went, following along to make sure he was safe. Oddly, although having adverse reactions to most new things, the boy showed no allergy or reaction towards his canine companion. As far as the boy is concerned, no dog will take Oji’s place, but he continues to have them as pets. Currently his family has a pair of mongrels named Ringo and Anzu.
Another love of Yoichi’s is technology. It fascinates him. Knowing that it kept him alive during his weakest moments, he has a certain affinity with it. He spends his time indoors on his beloved computer, or tinkering with electronics; slowly he has learned to fix most things - usually through dismantling them for fun - and so is handy around the house. He also loves the snow, and fruit.

Dislikes: Naturally, Yoichi hates to spend a long time indoors. He tries to get outside at least once a day. He also has a deep fear of darkness. It is embarrassing for a boy his age to admit but he is terrified of the dark; to this day, Yoichi sleeps with a bedside lamp on. Thunderstorms worry him deeply and he insists upon lighting candles during them in case the electricity is cut off. Yoichi hates to be alone for too long. He dislikes swimming a lot, and uses any excuse to get out of it - he dislikes most sport other than running or jogging, but hates swimming and such most of all.

Other: Yoichi and his family live in the town, next door to his grandparents. He lives with his mother, Chiyoko, father, Kenichi, and little sister, Yoko. His grandfather owns a small café in the centre of Kitamachi, and Yoichi often spends time helping out there during school holidays. As mentioned, Yoichi takes lots of medication, including around ten tablets every morning, three at night, and three shots to be taken periodically during the day.
