Heyo, all. Second character for me here.
Name: Katsuyama Miyu
Age: Seventeen
Gender: Female
Grade: 12th
Appearance:
This is her usual attire, but she will be dressed in a formal yukata (to her annoyance) for more important family matters, such as matchmaking, or the annual family meeting. She also applies heavy make up on her face to conceal a thin, ropy burn scar that extends from under her left eye all the way to her right, across the bridge of her nose. This greatly attributes to her facade of a strongly independent woman, rather than her reality, a fragile girl with a precarious state of mind. She is thin and of an average height for a Japanese seventeen year old.
Personality
Miyu is a loud and boisterous girl whose self-inflicted insecurity is always showing wherever she goes. This is due to her extreme amount of insecurity and her misgiving towards developing any kind of relationships with anyone her own age. From a distance she comes across as rather haughty and a bit of a spoiled brat. And they would be partly right. She is sarcastic, high-minded, sophisticated in western styles and customs, and thinks of the ancient ways as digressive and as a whole useless. She also has developed a distaste for high-class suitors after a few initial mishaps.
Bio
Miyu was born into the wealthy Katsuyama family, whose connections reach everywhere from wine producing to a rumored connection to the Yakuza. She also happens to be one of the older inhabitants of the island in school, as the Katsuyamas have a summer house in the western district. Her injury to her face occured in that very house. She does not remember the specifics, possibly because of a will not to recall it, but it was obvious that her distaste of cooking skills was a direct result of the accident. It wasn't until middle school, when she began to develop early and gain a new appreciation for males as a whole, that she began wearing makeup over her scar. Mainly because the boy she liked had been repulsed by it, but as a general principle too. This unfortunately lead to rumors that she was selling her body at a young age. How exactly the gossip had been ignited there is no clear answer, otherwise her family would have taken action against the transgressor. This eventually she was simply cast aside as a whore up until highschool when she moved to Natsujima. Not much changed there either. People still ignored her for the same reasons and she gradually became less and less willing to try and change it. That was until she met Haruka. Haruka is the one person that Miyu has called friend in the last five years and is also the only person who might convince her to change her ways.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes: Western foods, Western tea, sit-down restaurants, sun tanning, tennis, and going to spas.
Dislikes: Food stalls, specialty restaurants, surfing, Japanese history, unneeded physical exertion, natural beauty, cooking her won food, and sliding doors.

Okay! Just cover it in your first post. Make some reason up why you weren't there for the start. 
And yes - Suzaku is right, please ask people if you wish your characters to be friends - or otherwise - from the very start. Otherwise, presume your character doesn't know anyone else. Makes for some fun. <3

Appearance: Kanon has a lean, slender body and stands at a height of 5’5. She has fair skin, and evergreen eyes. Her hair is has a light red tint to it, and tied into a high ponytail. However, it sort of seems to fan out in different directions while spreading outward.It almost makes her hair look a little spiky to some…
At school, Kanon wears the sera-fuku, but when hanging around with others, Kanon usually wears this, as her casual wear.
Personality:
Although this girl is very caring and has a big heart, she can sometimes seem a little odd. . . to people who don't know her well, that is. She isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in - no matter how unorthodox it might seem. Kanon is the type of girl who isn't afraid to admit that she's lazy, bossy, or even spunky. In fact, she loves those qualities about herself.
Unfortunately, Kanon has a bad habit of procrastinating. If there's something she doesn't feel like doing at the moment (or at all for that matter), Kanon will usually put it off with a saying that goes along the lines of, "No worries! I'll get it done... soon."
Because of this habit, she's usually the one to study right before test day, ultimately leading her to feel very stressed out during the test. Despite all of this, she still fails to see that the problem is mostly her, and will without a doubt fail to study for the next due test.
To sum it all up, Kanon is a friendly female who, despite her occasional laziness, has a big heart and is willing to be friends with almost anyone.

Born into small and quiet town, Kanon lived with a family of three: her mother, who was a stay-at-home mom, as some would say; her father, who was a cook; and an older sister, Chika, who was five at the time her sister was born. Kanon was a shy girl when she was younger, and was considered antisocial. She often did not speak much to anyone, including her family.
The family wasn't familiar with this kind of behavior - Chika did at times kept to herself, but she was also very talkative when around friends. But to have a daughter who was totally blocked out from society? It was very odd. The parents did all they could to coax Kanon out of her withdrawn state; however, there was not much they could do. Until Kanon realized that she wasn't better off without people there in her life, all help was hopeless. . .
As Kanon aged, she found out that the more she resented others' acceptance, the lonelier she felt. Deep inside, she despised being alone, and she whole-heartedly wanted to have a friend. But, she honestly didn't know what the qualities were for being a friend. She didn't know what to do, or how to act. So who brought her out of her quiet and withdrawn state and taught her the meaning of friends? Her older sister, of course!
It was a steady process, but soon, Kanon's personality drastically changed from a shy, withdrawn little kid, to a lively, outgoing young woman.

When she received the letter from Aijo Kotogakko, Kanon was thrilled to find out that the school was set on Natsujima, the island in which Chika planned to move to for her new job. Hearing this, the two sisters' parents thought it would be best if Kanon stayed with her older sibling during her school days, much to Chika's dismay. Kanon, who was all for a little bonding time with her sister, didn't mind this one bit.

Alright, I have a quick comment....
Do not be scared of Kirin. XD
Don't worry, this hasn't turned into a School Rumble ripoff by any means. He's the only one of the staff characters that is any where near over the top, and none of his later stuff will compare to what he did to open the year. So if you're worried about this turning into a nonsensical roleplay....
