One Step at a Time
Car-runitwau Star: Konohagakure Village (As you may guessed, this only applies to Sora……)
Anime System: Royalty’s Castle
The door to the Communications Room opened, and in walked Nikkue and Layleri to Ovohna perched in front of a computer screen.
“Layleri, Nikkue, I want both of you to report to Seritouge and give him our opinions of the Key Fight.”
“Yes, m’am,” they both replied.
“And also, dig around, find out where the former Masters of this system are laying in rest.”
“Huh? But aren’t they buried at Tokieo Town?” asked Layleri.
“That’s what was displayed, but I’ve dug up a report that says otherwise, and as acting Steward, I want the definite truth on what happened to our Masters…..The report discusses that the bodies were never fully recovered.”
“What do you mean they weren’t ‘fully recovered’?” asked Nikkue, “What was recovered?”
Ovohna turned back to the monitor….. “It was closed casket ceremony. That’s all I’ll say of the matter; now on your way.”
“Yes m’am.”
Hollow Castle
“Death Generals, Death Generals…..Hmp, I can’t think up a better name for them, but oh Scythes just have such a wonderful name already,” piped the Lady of Red as she walked down a dark staircase. “Now I’ll have to think up wonderful names for my Death Generals since their title is so plain….Hhm…..I don’t think I can let one loose now, they’re still growing afterall.” She began to walk down a damp, stiff hallway. “Eeee! It’s like naming babies! I have to make it appropriate for each one, each name is special, a name is what helps people who can’t sense entities find the person that they are looking for.”
She came to a plain black door, and opened it. The darkness was so thick, she may well have opened a door to a solid black wall….“Black, not my color.” The Lady put both of her hands to her chest and her “heart” began to pump red light, the room became illuminated, and giant redish-black gooey buds came into view…… “Hello my babies! Momma’s home!”
One of the buds gave a pulse…..and from oh so far away within the Disney System, upon Radiant Garden, Cloud felt his heart stir.
.............................
Cloud was overlooking the town from up top a bridge, and just off in the distance, was the remains of the Castle of Hollow Bastion…Ever since Sora, Riku, and Kairi disappeared from Disney System, strange sounds had began emitting from it…machine-like, moan-like…noises that sent a chill just high enough up your spine to tickle the hairs on the back of your neck. Cloud, Leon, and Cid had checked in and around the Castle, and Merlin even used his magic to sweep it for signs of life, but nothing was found lurking inside; it was empty, and the sounds continued. Now as Cloud stands with his heart giving a sudden stir, a slow low, sharp moan resonated out from the Castle, up from Cloud’s feet and made his senses tingle.
“Cloud?”
He turned around; it was Tifa who had come out from Merlin’s house.
“Oh that Castle is acting up again,” she sighed, “We’ve gotta figure out what’s going on over there, the whole town is disturbed by it.” She caught a quick glimpse of Cloud covertly trying to sift his hand away from his heart, but “What’s wrong? Is it your heart?”
“It’s nothing,” Cloud replied, and turned back to over look Radiant Garden. He heard Tifa sigh from behind him.
“Sora and his friends still haven’t been found yet, but Chip and Dale’s Rescue Rangers aren’t giving up….They also haven’t found the Royalties yet either…”
Something metal and heavy sounded like it was leaning dangerously over its side from the Castle.
Cloud nonchalantly stepped in place…… “They won’t find any of them here. They’re gone.”
……Tifa looked sadly to the ground, “The last place they went to was Disney Castle and since then, with that horrible dark
thing having consumed it entirely, the place has been sealed up by Yen Sid, Merlin, and (Tifa gave a smile) the Fairy Godmother. I know people forget she is a powerful magician too.”
“They know they’re not here anymore. Everyone’s time is being wasted.”
……”I know,” said Tifa keeping her focus down. Tifa’s memory played out the scene when time stopped for the Disney System:
Merlin had walked through the door of his house, holding his wand in both hands, head hung low.
“How’d it go?” asked Yuffie anxiously –
“Did you find them?” asked Leon.
Merlin slowly shook his head.
“What happened?” asked Cid, “It’s not bad is it? I mean, heh, I mean….” But the look on Merlin’s face sank everyone’s hearts.
“Merlin,” said Leon, “What happened? Where are they?”
“My friends,” Merlin said in a broken voice, “I have, horrible…horrible news……” His old hands trembled, and his wise eyes closed with the shinning outline of tears…
Yuffie’s gut wanted to rip itself out from anxiety – “Well, come on
spit it out!” –
“Yuffie,” said Leon harshly.
Merlin raised himself to the height allowed by the weight of his broken heart, “Our, dear,
dear friends….”
And Tifa cut the memory off.
“The people of this system don’t know they’re gone, just missing. I suppose that pain doesn’t hurt as much since it’s not the nail in the coffin, er, pardon the pun eh……I guess Yen Sid has his point in not informing everyone, even though we are now all united, the Ways Sora had opened around here, brought everyone together, especially with the merges, this system is as unified as it has ever been before….. But even so, it’s not like we can do much; we’re stuck here. Cid has been trying for ages to get in contact with Vincent since Yen Sid made his deduction of Sora, Riku, and Kairi still being alive and taken to the Anime System, but the loophole of the Protection* has shut our Way off completely now. We are absolutely cut off from the outside systems.”
“To what they know,” said Cloud in a dry tone, “Didn’t you say, we, weren’t giving up?”
Tifa gave a smile.
“Whatever is causing this crisis, Sora and his friends are not a match for it if it took out this system’s Royalty so easily.” Cloud turned to face Tifa. “No matter how we do it, if we have to break every Law there is, we’ve got to get back to the Anime System – “
A sharp pang came from the Castle causing Tifa to halfway jump into her fighting stance – likewise Cloud had his hand on his blade.
“Ugh, that damn Castle,” Tifa cursed, “We really gotta figure out what’s going on over there .”
Tee hee.

Masaki Household
*“You know Sora is totally helpless without us, come on Riku!”*
Helpless. Stamp that on her forehead, please. Hopeless too.
*It’s all dark, as if from the shade of my heart…What happened before, when I left the Masaki Household, like a patch perfectly cut from my mind and locked away. It’s like I feel I don’t want to remember. But the last thing I do remember, is, I
had made it to another world. Somehow I, just turned into a realm of darkness, then with the help of a shadowy person, I crossed over….Then things got bad, really bad, I don’t remember exactly what happened, but that I just couldn’t handle the situation, I couldn’t help who was there next to me, and then voice from the shadowy person that guided me there took over; and my memory stops there….But I know there’s more, it’s just, in a place I can’t reach right now. However it all seems irrelevant anyway, I’m back, I’m back at the Masaki Household and totally fine. Whatever happened, that shadowy person must’ve taken care of it….Too bad I didn’t get to thank him though…I hope everyone that was there made it out okay….I….wish I could have done more, like all my training with Tenchi and the girls, didn’t really help much…Or I’m just that bad as a Master….If Sora and Riku had been there, they would have –*
“Kairi,” came Tenchi’s voice, “It’s time. It’s all set.”
Kairi snapped back to reality, and looked up above the Masaki household. There gleaming with the night sky as its back ground, was the world’s Keyhole.
“It should come to you naturally, what you should do next Kairi,” said Washuu, “A true Keyblade Master’s duty resonates throughout their being.”
This was true. And just when Kairi was about to dismiss herself as being worthy of a Master, her heart was tickled, and a strange sensation took over her body. A knowing instinct of actions done for the first time – she looked to the Keyhole, and felt it resonate within her, calling
her heart….
Keyblade Master…Kairi’s eyes opened wide….
Please do the honors…..It was Tenchi’s world that spoke to
her.
….Both of Kairi’s hands trembled slightly as she gripped Chigiri* in front of her and closed her eyes….Her body felt tense and at ease all at the same time, acting, and not acting on its own. It was like an old memory happening for the first time.
She took a deep breath, and felt a cool breeze sweep her hair, a happiness began to bounce inside her stomach, her heart was opening, swelling….*I can feel it, I can feel this world’s heart pumping through me…* Kairi smiled, *It’s so bright, and, strong!*
You’re a Master aren’t you? Why wouldn’t you feel me? Silly child, where’s your confidence?
“Look,” said Ryoko, “We know that stance huh Tenchi?”
Tenchi nodded. “She’s got it.”
*So, this is what it feels like to have the strength of a Keyblade Master, to have your heart merged fully with your power,* Kairi’s happiness leaked a little giggle, *It feels incredible! Like I’m flying!* Kairi opened her eyes, her target in sight – *I wish you guys could see this, Sora, Riku, like y’all, I
will become a strong Master too!* Kairi raised Chigiri*, the Keyblade responding to her heart – and winds of ethereal beauty swirled around her!
“So pretty,” cooed Mihoshi as she and the other ladies along with Tenchi watched on.
Chigiri* glowed at its point and Kairi swung her blade elegantly around her, then straight at the Keyhole – the Lock* beam burst from her blade
–!– but the Lock* beam ricocheted off the corner of the Keyhole – !
“EEK!” –
“WATCHOUT!” –
But the beam merely dissipated from a faded thread of light as it rebounded off in a horizontal distance….Tenchi took a few side steps to Kairi and gently raised Chigiri* up and over a few degrees….“Let’s try one more time shall we?” he smiled nervously.
Kairi gave a shaken up nod, “Yeah, one more try!”
Kairi tried again, and before the moment was over, she realized she had just locked* her very first world as a thick QUA-CHUCK resonated briefly through the night.
“It wasn’t all that spectacular because this was just a freeze of state lock* Kairi,” said Washuu, “For the other worlds you’ll visit, you’ll have to do the same to get this system back on its feet.”
“This, this is what Sora and Riku are doing too right?” asked Kairi trying to contain her excitement – she locked* her first world!
“Yes, you’re a true Keyblade Master now Kairi,” smiled Aeka.
“She was always a Master,” said Washuu proudly, “You know the Keyblade chooses it’s wielder, but your blade Kairi, how to put this right, was sealed within you when you were very young to protect you.”……
Kairi blinked, “Really…? I, don’t remember much when I was young…But, this was sealed within me to protect me?”
“Yeah,” said Washuu, “According to what Aurocile has written me. Unfortunately that’s all I do know of your past; I’m assuming Aurocile must know the whole story if you’re unsure about anything.”
Kairi looked down, and let her reflection roll over her blade…..*Inside to protect me…? From what…?*
“Just keep this in mind Kairi, whatever happens as you go about this system, your Keyblade will have the strength to defeat anything that comes your way; its up to you to unlock its power.”
Chigiri* gave a sheen. Kairi gripped her blade and gave a big smile and a nod to match, she swung her blade up, “Yeah, I’m ready to be a Keyblade Master!”
“Then you better get going,” said Washuu, “Time is of the essence for our system, and we might not have much left if we keep you here any longer, there’s many, many other people to help.”
Kairi swallowed, “Yeah….It’s, part of the duty of a Keyblade Master right?”
“That is correct,” said Aeka, “And remember to be polite and to walk with the grace as a Lady of the Light – “
“Don’t exhert your magic” –
“Watch your swing strokes” –
“The pointy end goes into the bad guy” –
“I think she knows that Ryoko” –
“Don’t speak to strangers” –
“Isn’t that everyone Mishoshi?” asked Sasami.
“We’re not strangers, we’re practically family!”
*You guys* – Kairi couldn’t speak as no one objected –
“Be sure to ram the Keyblade straight through the heartless’ hearts!” growled Mihoshi –
“They don’t have hearts” -
“But most importantly Kairi,” said Tenchi stepping up, “Never be afraid to step into whatever challenges lie ahead” –
“But do remember to pick your battles,” said Kiyone, “We want to see you again in one piece.”
Sasami with Ruo-Oki on her head walked up to Kairi and gave her a package wrapped in silk, “This is from all of us Kairi, we hope you like it.” Ryo-Oki squeaked.
Kairi eyes had become blurry, and she quickly blinked them clear, “T-thank-you Sasami.” Kairi took the gift and began to unwrap it –
“Wait! You can’t open it here!” yelled Sasami, and Kairi was stopped with the package half-way uncovered. “It has to be opened in a special place!” Tenchi’s group nodded, some with a hidden glance –
Kairi could kinda feel what it was – Sasami snatched it back up, wrapped it, or rather sealed it [shut] and handed it back to Kairi. “Keep it safe, and open it only, ONLY when you know you should open it.”
“Know?” Kairi asked blankly –
“Alright!” clapped Washuu, “We’ve wasted enough time, it’s time for you to go Kairi, look.”
Kairi turned around, and there suddenly behind her, were golden –
“Train tracks?”
“This is a special train that Aurocile has especially activated for you,” said Washuu, “It will take you automatically where you need to go, also, here” – Washuu handed Kairi a letter, this should help you on your way too.”
Kairi took it; her hands began to slightly tremble as her heart began to pound sullen beats, “Thank-you guys so much,” she said. There was a mixture of sad and happy faces in the Masaki group…..and a wave of guilt rose and rose within Kairi…..What was this guilt? *Oh right…..I had wanted…..to abandon them…and I almost got my wish…..*
“Now, now dear, there’s no need to get upset, we’ll meet again real soon,” said Aeka.
“Yeah. (Sniff).”
“No we really will,” said Tenchi, “We’re going to meet up with the rest of the world coalition that protects the Masters in Tokieo Town. Once you get there, come by and give us a shout, one of us should be at the Lunar Café, or the Spot Tower.”
“Judging by the contents of the letter, you should be going to at least three worlds before you reach Tokieo Town,” said Washuu, “But who knows. You’ll be taken to where you are needed.”
There came the faint whistle of a train.
“We’ll see you real soon Kairi!” piped Mihoshi.
The whistle became louder, the chuga-chuga of its powerful mechanics began to ensnare the grip of everyone, the smoke oddly smelled sweet, and the trug of the engine moderately shook the ground. A magnificent silver train built of an after-era roared through the world, and left it with a sole passenger waving back to a happy, beaming group of friends; closely bonded friends.
Keyblade Masters are known for their friendship and kindness. Everyone they meet, their lives are touched and changed forever. Though their memory may ultimately fade in time, but they have changed the very paths of the people they meet into a direction they would never dream of seeking before.
But in the long run, it is only detour…and then fate will claim its delayed prize.
………………
Tokeio Town
Layleri twitched.
“What’s wrong?” asked Nikkue, but then she felt it too, her powerful sense* ability picking up across plains a happy jingle mixed in with the thunder of a strong passenger train –
“Wow!” piped Layleri, “The personal train of the Sovereign Royalties is out and about!”
“A Spirit must’ve released it,” said Nikkue, “I wonder who’s uu-
UUUUUUUU –!” Layleri grabbed Nikkue’s arm and twirled her around –
“Tee heh! Let’s go ride the train!” –
“Wait! We’ve got stuff to do – !” but Nikkue’s voice faded away from the front of the Spot Tower – “Layleri
we haven’t even gone inside the tower yet! AHH –!” CRASH!
The sound of scattering metal broke the air –
“Alphonse!”

Car-runitwau Star: ??????
Riku was following Isetzue through sandy dunes with large protruding rocks, the wind was light, the sun was bright, and there was a calm ambiance of sand shifting under their steps.
“So what is this world?” asked Riku.
“A relatively stable one, it could use a freeze-of-state lock,” replied Isetzue, “After what you and your friends went through, I think you’ll find it a rather easy place to get your work done.” Isetzue turned to face Riku, “Now, you know if you’re found out, I’ll have to drag you back to safety, so try to accomplish a lot, try to lock this world in three days.”
“Three days? Heh, I wonder if I should simultaneously eat and sleep.”
“The Lady’s subjects are on the move Riku. They’re building up the Death Generals.”
“Death Generals?”
“The Lady’s latest experiment. I’m not sure how she’s making them, but to say the least, they’re gonna be a big problem in the future if my brothers and I don’t find a way to destroy them before they’re complete.”
Riku stopped walking. “Isetzue, I’m not one to assume the darkness of anybody, you and your brothers have been, outstandingly helpful in your assistance to us, but…..” Riku remembered when he stumbled onto Isetzue feverishly trying to wipe blood off the dolls of his friends, and not to mention she was practically drenched in it……” Just what exactly have you and your brothers been doing?”
Isetzue gave a tiny smile, “Just trying to settle the score. See ya later Riku; take care of yourself – and remember, three days okay? Just wait here, the people should come to you, they should be able to at least point you in the right direction,” and Isetzue slipped through her portal and was gone.
“Three days,” Riku sighed looking around the desert landscape. “More like three weeks, I wouldn’t expect nothing or anybody here.” Riku’s hand went to his pocket, and felt a bulge. “Oh, Morrow’s present…That’s activated by dousing it in water…..and I’m in a desert, great.” What would people want to do out here in such a desolate land?
This world seemed to be a stark contrast to the Ancient Forest…..Not a tree in sight. Dry…..
Did Isetzue really expect him to just sit out here and wait? Riku observed the landscape again, “Well it’s not total desert, I mean there’s some rocks. Big rocks. At least the sky is blue. Okay! Which way shall I go? North has a rock, West has sand, East has sand, and South has –” TOOM! Riku was chucked over like a bouncy ball and slammed hard into north large rock – landing partially on his bum and back – as quick as his shocked self could, he composed himself and looked up…. “Has, a – a giant white mechanical monster.”
The ground shook in thunderous beats – like something enormous was running towards the giant four legged white machine that had crash landed over Riku – the white machine looked somewhat like a armored big cat with slight canine features such as a narrow snout; it threw its head back and roared like a lion/tiger, a
liger – and spreads its legs wide (Riku now between the front two) as if to brace for impact – the ground’s intense shaking reached the point of Riku being jiggled around in a bowl, he managed a glace up before a black shadow encompassed him! – BOOSCH! – Crashing through rock formations was another giant mecha, this one looking like a triceratops!
*I’m going to get squashed!* -
The white liger mecha stood up on its hind legs, towering over Riku (as he scrambled to get away from the fight ) – the triceratops mecha had leapt forward in its charge, horns down, physically leaving the ground from the power of the jump, and Riku heard the crunch and grind of metal on metal as the liger mecha fell to the side, just in the nick of time, out of the way of the horns at least, catching itself with a stiff leg, then bashing the airborne mecha side on side, Riku looked back – “AHHHH!” BOOOAM – Riku was tossed up from the impact as if he was an ant on a bed, and a large person had plopped down next to him. The hit was just enough to make the immense body of the triceratops topple over, and with the sheer size of these machines, it looked like Riku had made little ground to get away. As the dust settled, Riku coughed and saw he was in the shadow of the triceratops, his foot barely touching its metal hide, “Th-that, was too close!”
The Triceratops mecha moved to get back up,
and rolled over Riku! The momentum of its weight, gave its stiff body the force to get back on its stubby legs, and Riku, just so happened to be in that magic spot where there a nice niche in the triceratops’s armor. Before he could comprehend what had just happened, the liger was once again over him as it rushed the triceratops with a magnificent leap – slicing off its horn to the left and all down its side with glowing yellow claws. The triceratops mecha fell to the right of Riku and the liger mecha landed to Riku’s far forward left and gave a triumphant roar.
A buzzer of some kind sounded, followed by a robotic voice over a loud intercom from somewhere nearby, “Battle over, the winner is, the Blitz team!”
Riku fell on his back. “Well, (*swallow*) at least I didn’t have to wait too long.”
Riku felt a light touch on his shoulder, *Yeah she probably should have told ya, you were in a Zoid Battle Zone.* Riku focused his eyes further above him, and there was the transparency of Dendjue with his kitten smile *But that’s Izzy for ya.*
…………………………………………………………………………
En Route
Kairi settled back on the train, thinking of all the room she had to herself; really, an entire train just for her? And it was all totally decked out – *This train is like for the use of really,
really rich people,* Kairi thought watching the stars glide idly by as the train chugged on its golden railroad through space. She looked at her letter and gift……*I’ll open the letter later* She played with the letter in her hands then set both letter and gift to her side and looked around the train car she was in. Such Royal seating, such pretty frames, surely this one car could be a room in a Royalty’s most prized chambers, but….It was kinda quiet. Oh no, she could get up and watch a movie, there was a theater car, but…and if she was hungry, there was more than enough food in the dining car, enough food to feed at least 5 families for months, but…And the view outside was so beautiful, she wished, they could see this…But….
It was a bit lonely.
“….Is this how I’m going to be traveling?....Alone….?”
And of course there was no reply but the sole beats of her heart, the sound of the moving train, and the gliding stars.
Kairi walked to the Sleep Car, pulled the heavy blanket back on an emperor sized bed, and snuggled right in….Well almost, the bed was so big, Kairi pulled in all the blankets and pillows together and made a kind of “nest” if you will. There, much better, much more, I guess comforting……
Then just as Kairi fell asleep, off to the left of her, a form began to wrinkle into view, and Ragiel’s transparency faded in. He walked over to the sleeping Kairi all cuddled up. *Mh, snug as a bug in a rug, *he said lightly, and a warm smile was drawn over his face. *I remember now, why I just had to help you. It’s funny how death can kinda detach ya a bit from reality. It doesn’t exactly apply to me anymore.* Ragiel took a seat next to Kairi and brushed her almost weightless red hair back; her hair about the exact same shade as his. *Our eyes could have been the same shade I bet, but I just had to have that tinge of green in them……* Ragiel moved to pick the heavy covers over her more, but they only just slightly moved as his ghostly hand slipped through them. *Heh, I can’t do it anymore…. It’s been so long since I last tucked you in at night.*
………………………………….
In-Betwixt Realm
Avera slowly opened his eyes, and there sitting next to the bed looking over him, was Sephiroth. Avera pulled up the blankets more and gave a cute blush, “Have you been watching over me?”
“Sora and Riku are both showing stronger aura’s resembling yours now, they were even able to muster up Holy Elemental* magic in the time of crisis.”
“Goodness.”
“They were lucky they weren’t killed; magic that powerful at the level they’re at is almost suicide to attempt, I doubt they even knew what happened; except that it came about the heat of the moment.”
“They were probably protected by the will of the Deities,” Avera grunted as he pushed himself up, “I’ll be darned if they let another Master get killed if they have the chance to prevent it” – Avera flinched violently and grabbed his chest –
“You doubt their luck? It may as well have been Yahena.”
Avera nearly froze in place…then his body gave subtle movements with his head still down…. “So it really is going through with it then.”
“For them both, you know that, don’t act like your ignorant.”
“I was just hoping….” Avera looked up and smiled, “That our friends feel like they’re ready for what’s asked of them.”
“They didn’t stand a chance during the Key Brawl, Yahena is going to speed up their progress, and that holds a tremendous risk of them turning into Scythes.”
“If Yahena is willing to take that chance, it must have a secret plan right? It won’t spoil such efforts like that.” Avera’s aching body settled with heavy controlled breaths. “I realize it now….with me opening up a Way to the Other Side….I was just a pawn in getting ‘shields’ for Sora, Riku, and Kairi.”
”The Anime Masters,” said Sephiroth, “I’m sure they didn’t appreciate what happened, but you know, it is fair game that Yahena can manipulate situations just as easily as the Chrost-Weik can.”
Avera gave a smile, not a happy or cute smile, but one of more cunning and sneaky, almost dark. “Well Sephiroth, we can manipulate situations too.”
“You are no where near the condition it is required to perform that magic right now” –
“If you’re worried about me dying, don’t. My will to live has never been stronger; I know the risk,” Avera slowly sat himself further up wincing, but Sephiroth stopped Avera by placing his hand on his chest; supporting his weight.
“It’s not your will Avera, it’s your heart. As long as your heart is in this state, you can have all the will power in the world, but it won’t matter if you suffer from a Heart Attack*. Your heart had a movement when you were trying to help Tumble-Stop.”
“Just a little one” –
“A movement none-the-less,” Sephiroth’s voice dropped to a threatening note, and he pushed Avera pack down; Sephiroth turned to leave in his portal.
“Then, then you’re going to do this for me?” Avera asked cutely snuggling under the blankets.
“It won’t make any difference to the Natural Order of Death if their souls disappear.”
“They won’t disappear,” said Avera quietly, “Remember? They never left this system’s side.”
Sephiroth exited through his portal.
Avera sighed on the bed and closed his eyes, *He didn’t rub any one’s death in my face, so they’re all safe. Good.* Avera gave a long inhale and exhale. *I hope you’ll forgive me Sora that I can’t be by your side right now, I know you need some answers….*
Avera was about to drift off to sleep when his sense* burned him awake –
“Oh just one! I’ll let just one go out and play!”
Weeeeeeeeeee!

Car-runitwau Star:………
Sora tied his forehead protector around his head; the metal center plate had the same emblem as the stylization of the three pointed crown he wore around his neck.
“Remember,” said Genkai tying the same emblem forehead protector around her head, “We’re from the Village Hidden in the Stars.”
“Gotcha,” said Sora.
“The Village Hidden in the Stars,” repeated Kakashi, “You should fit right in.”
“Just as long as we don’t disturb the World Order too much,” said Genkai, “At least we should fit in demographically somewhere.”
“And with our outfits too,” said Sora looking at himself, his clothes still kept a black theme with his very, very plain flak jacket (it could have been passed off as just a heavy armless sweater), underneath was a light turtle necked long sleeved shirt, and below was loosely fitting pants with many pockets and zippers. He slipped on his fingerless gloves with metal plates on the back.
Genkai was more closely dressed to Kakashi’s style (at least with the style of his flak jacket), she had on a light red flak jacket with her poofy pants stopping just above her ankles, fingerless red gloves with metal plates on the back, and her hair was pulled back with a band.
Sora corrected his headband, “You know, I always thought ninja’s, er Shinobi, always dressed in black no matter what to help hide themselves, and they always stayed within the shadows.”
“If you’re a good enough Shinobi, that shouldn’t even matter right?” said Kakashi. “Let’s get going.”
Walking towards the main deck, Sora saw Kakashi tuck the extremely compress Light Cloak deeper in one of his pouch pockets.
“Kakashi, how did you get the Light Cloak?” asked Sora.
“It was entrusted to our whole world to keep safe by Lorenia shortly before she died, and the Hokage in particular entrusted it to me.”
“Oh,” said Sora with an extra amount of gloom in his voice. They walked by the hallway with Ash’s room and Team Rocket was still outside his door…..
“It’s too late to apologize – oh it’s too laaaaaaate, I said it’s too late to apologiiiiiize….to you!” Team Rocket sang, their voices almost totally horse from the constant singing –
“Go AWAY,” Ash replied through the door. Sora stopped, as did Kakashi and Genkai,
“You three,” said Sora; Team Rocket looked in attention. “Ash obviously doesn’t want to talk to you guys yet, maybe he needs to blow off some steam or something; we did just have a pretty rough ride. Did y’all eat?”
“Rough ride, we just want to tell him we’re sorry face to face, but he won’t even open the door a crack,” whined James with big shiny teary eyes. “We’re really, really sorry.”
“For what?” asked Sora.
“For…For –” but Genkai stepped in before Team Rocket were shooting waterfalls from their eyes –
“It’s their personal history with Ash,” said Genkai, “Leave them to it.”
Sora turned back towards Team Rocket, “Well, y’all sound sincere enough, just give him time okay?” And they walked on with Team Rocket starting to sing back up again….
“I’m a bit concerned about those three,” said Kakashi.
“Ninja’s intuition?” asked Sora brightly.
“You could call it that.”
“Oh don’t flatter yourself,” said Genkai flatly. “My sense* has been acting up a bit around them too. By the way Sora, how is your sense* developing?”
“Um, I’m not sure.”
Sora blinked and a kunai was in his face – he stopped just a step short, and his nose poked it.
“Looks like it’s developing well,” said Kakashi, “But a push or two wouldn’t hurt.”
Sora touched his nose to make sure it wasn’t bleeding and stumbled back forward.
“There, there isn’t a better way to test it?” Sora’s voice shook (he still touched his nose).
“Your sense* ability is the strongest when danger is approaching, something with the intent to hurt you, or kill you,” said Kakashi, “It is least effective when you’re looking for something benign like a lost pair of socks. When you sharpen it more, you’ll be able to pick up on people intentions, and their rough locations.”
“Oh, cool.”
They made it up into the main deck where almost everyone had assembled (those that didn’t bury themselves in their rooms with grief were still in their respected places
*cough* like Yugi and Ash
*cough*) - Ed quickly zipped over and glomped Sora,
“How handsome looking,” smiled Chi-Chi at the group.
“Hey Sora,” and Shonen Bat slipping out from the shadows, “Ready are you?”
“Yeah, let’s get going!”
“I’ve got this thing all set,” said Bulma, “Your landing point will be right in front of the Leaf Village’s gates; don’t wanna leave any outside chance something might jump y’all before you even get there.”
“Perfect,” said Kakashi.
“Are you sure landing directly in front of the Village is fine Kakashi?” asked Genkai, “We won’t be attacked by guards?”
“Yes, the Hokage knows were coming and what company I am with. Shonen, please stay as a shadow.”
“Fine.”
“For now, we’ll only go in small groups until we get clearance from the Hokage for everyone else to come along,” said Kakashi.
“I want one of those head bands,” said Abigale; her puppy sighed.
“Me too,” said Goku.
“Okay guys!” smiled Bulma brightly, “See ya later and stay safe!”
Sora felt his insides go tickely and everything burst white.
…..
.......
The Land of Wind; The Land of Rain; The Land of Sound; The Land of Snow; The Land of Waves; The Land of Earth; The Land of Lightning; The Land of Water; The Land of Fire.
There are many nations upon me, as humans tend to form. I feel my people in their separate countries – some strong, some weak…. Yet they are proud of whom they are regardless of how they’re defined in strength; this is especially true to those that call themselves, “Shinobi.”
Ah, welcome young Master. It’s been awhile since your kind has been on me.
....Sora's mouth gaped just a tiny bit...He would never forget the first thing he saw as he entered through the gates of Konohagakure Village, just above the roof and tree-top line of the village, he could see an almost flat mountain range with four great heads carved out of them –
“That is Hokage Mountain,” said Kakashi, “It’s to honor our past and present village leaders.”
The Village Hidden Among Tree Leaves
“I don’t know why,” said Shonen Bat, “but I so want to go paint on those giant fa” – STOMP.
“Please don’t show disrespect to our past and present Hokages,” said Kakashi with his foot on an odd shadow next to Sora.
“That didn’t hurt”……..*Ow.*
Sora excitedly looked all around at all the bustling people of the village and of its unique sturdy structures colored in the soft pallet of a diverse, yet unified town. Under the shade of many, many trees – Sora was just hoping to catch sight of a slick ninja shifting through the shadows, but for the most part, all the people here looked pretty normal in the attire of the world.
“Hey Kakashi, where are all the ninjas?” asked Sora.
Kakashi blinked, he could have easily said that most were identified when wearing their village’s forehead protector, but he merely pointed to his heart, and Sora grew even more excited (Genkai rolled her eyes).
“Wow!” said Sora up on his toes all bright eyed and bushy-tailed, “So this is a real ninja village!” –
“Alert the Hokage!”
“Clear everyone out of the area at once!”
“Huh?!” Sora, Kakashi, Genkai, and Shonen Bat – along with a very alerted crowd of people turned towards the gate of the village where the alarmed voices sounded off – a stationed guard ran towards the public –
“EVERYONE CLEAR OUT – “ BOOSH! The gates of Konohagakure burst open, blowing the guard and a number of poor passersby people away in an icy, unforgiving wind –
SKEENE! Shonen Bat in that split second materialized and blocked for Sora with his bat a large needle aimed for Sora’s throat – and Kakashi blocked a second needle still aimed for Sora’s neck with his kunai – Sora promptly called out his Keyblade, the four in their fighting stances; Sora’s patience of sharp things flying at his head run dry. A mortal barrier sprung up and around the entrance area of the village – luckily no citizens were caught in it, but Sora and his group was along with their enemy –
Kakashi with his kunai in one hand single handedly with the other quickly un-wrapped the Light Cloak and whipped it on Sora’s shoulders –
“Huh?” Wha” – but Sora’s glimpse at Kakashi, Shonen Bat, and Genkai’s fighting stance spoke the thick volume of “this is ******* serious;” Sora shifted the cloak to a more comfortable posture, even though he had no desire whatsoever to abandon the impending fight.
As people ran for their safety from the area, Sora thought he heard someone screaming for Kakashi from outside the barrier, ah, *I guess sound would be muffled,* thought Sora…
“The wind, though a brass attack to the front of the Village, was only a feint,” said Kakashi, “Those needles were the real problem – a test attack, to see who would react the fastest."
Shonen Bat gripped his bat hard, “We’re obviously its target then huh? I wonder if it was a coincidence it practiced on Sora….Maybe it was testing
our reaction times right? Not Sora's.”
“Maybe,” said Genkai, “If it’s thinking Sora is irrelevant, it’s sorely mistaken.”
Sora felt that was a compliment.
All around the group, an icy wind cut their faces carrying shards of snow flurries and a thick heavy mist – Kakashi’s sense* burned him and his eye grew wide –
“This is –?!”
The mist wrapped itself into an opaque fog, then slowly dispersed as snow in the form of a young person, perhaps around Sora’s age; the light sound of chimes played with Sora’s hearing….Most noticeable was the mask the young person wore, smooth, fitting over his face just right with horizontal slits for eyes, four slightly curved lines position in box corners were on the forehead, and two partial swirls came in from the left under both eyes, but also added to the mask, were red splotches, and two red tear marks down from the eye slits. Black long silky hair was parted to both sides and tied at the ends, the rest was tied up elegantly behind. The person wore vertical lined turtle neck like sweater of some sort underneath a short robe lined with off-white that partially covered oversized wide vertical lined poofy crop pants (if you will); around his waist was tied a thick sash with loose threads at the end; and he/she wore vinyl geta sandals. His skin was a pale, pale ghastly tone, the color of the drained. But to top off his appearance, was a strange gaping mark in the center of his chest.
“Is this guy, a ninja?” asked Sora with tingles in his fingers – the fast attack reminded him of the Rider’s speed to kill……
“Yes,” said Kakashi gravely…. “In every sense of the word, he
was a ninja” –
“Tsk,” Shonen Bat spat.
“Woah, wait a second!,” Sora gasped, “Then – he’s a zombie?! A
zombie ninja?!”
“That Lady’s aura is all over him,” said Genkai with her fists clenching, “I’m not even sure as to what he is exactly, an Emotionless for sure, but...."
The head tilted down and a red drop collecting under and eye slit dropped off.
Shonen Bat deepened his stance as the fallen Shinobi raised a single hand up to his mask with the index and middle finger pointed straight up, the other digits clenched. The temperature within the mortal barrier began to drop rapidly, and the wind became brisk and sharp circulating around the room inside the barrier. “There’s no doubt,” said Shonen Bat, his breath visible in the dropping temperature, “It’s a Death General.”
You’ll never catch a break will you?
