After the Battle
Universal World: I’ll give ya three guesses but you’ll only need one
"Take the picture - take the picture - take - take -
take the picture!" - Garfield "A Tale of Two Kitties"
What was that little comment Vincent made? *I need to get stronger...?*
"Well if there's one good thing a mortal barrier does, it keeps the fight nice and concentrated so that no damage is done, at least to the surroundings," said Goku looking down about what still remained intact of the square; he looked to the boy atop the green dragon “You doin’ okay Ash?” Ash huffed shaking off the adrenaline built up in his system,
"If Serena's hadn’t developed her Barrier Bond* so well, we wouldn't have been able to make it through to yall to help. Heh, I didn’t believe it at first, but even Yugi” – *As if I’m so much of a fighter myself* – was fighting, and then a mortal barrier pops up? Bulma knew then it was bad.” Ash touched his neck, when that monster grabbed Rayquaza, he felt the same crushing grip around his neck…That was really scary; something with such intent to kill– “I wonder why Vincent waited so long to make a move though, I think he was watching the Keyblade Master." Rayquaza, the green dragon, cocked its head at the Master. “But that Master would have protected us right? If, if it got serious…?”
…..When was it not serious?
Goku easily read the expression, and being an experience combatant replied, “Sora cannot be in two places at once.”
Sure, a grip around the neck isn’t serious, or daggers being thrown at you, or nearly having your spleen torn out, or almost getting burned and crushed into, ash.
“But that’s what team mates are for right?” Goku added, “Yall did really well.” *No one died.*
“Adrenaline helps,” Ash muttered shivering the last of it off; Rayquaza did the same, and Pikachu shook with them for fun.
Ash wasn’t the only one who felt the pricklies of realizing what the hell he had just did: Spike was checking his gun and rocking on his heels, Jet and Faye were pretty composed as settling nerves allowed, and Yugi was snapped back into reality as Pharaoh slid out and smiled at him, seeing that he was physically perfectly okay. A little mental jarring every now and then was healthy…
"Is everyone okay?" Sora asked; he was answered with some groaning and waving of the hand – which also can be used as the expert’s “Yeah I’m good as far as near-death experiences go” cover-up. Ed replied by latching onto him,
"Sora's okay?" she asked nose to nose.
"I'm okay," said Sora and Ed released.
"Ugh," sighed Sailor Moon sitting up, “I haven't used the Silver Crystal in while."
Yugi stepped over and pulled her up, "Here,” he said and used Cura*: little green flurries danced around everyone’s injuries.
Spike observed his arm as a gash he received disappeared….*That’s handy.*
"Those things mean business now,” said Sailor Mars (Raye), “The Emotionless never dared to set foot within the city limits of Tumble-Stop before, plus sending monster heartless and nobody mix? We’ve never ever seen that before, or at least something so weird, since…”
“Yeah, and guess who just arrived,” said Sailor Venus (Mina) quietly, looking at Sora.
Goku flew down to the ground as Rayquaza lowered its body. Ash, wearing a cap, jeans, a black under-shirt, and a blue-white short jacket, steadied a little yellow creature-mouse with long black tipped ears on his shoulder. He sized up the jump and leapt down from the dragon's head, a split second before however, the dragon raised its head, making too high a jump–("Aahhhh!")–and he smashed down on the ground (miraculously on his feet), falling like a stone on his face, the little yellow electric mouse following suite.
"Sora, this is Ash," said Sailor Moon pointing to the mound,
Ash picked his arm up stiffly, "Hello,” body still face down. Rayquaza above growled a laugh.
"And this
adorable little thing is
Pikachu," piped Sailor Moon picking up the electric mouse, tucking under its wittle zig-zaggy tail, and cradled the boo-boo on its forehead.
"Return* you stupid lizard!" yelled Ash snapping up with a red and white ball in his hand that shot out a red light, engulfing the dragon (as it stuck out its tongue at Ash), and sucked it inside the ball. *I miss my pokemon,* muttered Ash internally looking at the sole pokeball he had.
“Pika-pika,” Pikachu cooed.
"(*Sigh*) I wish you could have met us under kinder terms,” said Sailor Moon as Pikachu leapt from her arms to Ash's shoulder, “but anyways, it's great to have you here Sora, we really need the Keyblade Masters to help us out against the darkness more than ever."
"I'm your guy,” said Sora swinging his blade over his shoulder; Ed nodded.
"Shouldn't there be other masters with you?," asked Sailor Jupiter (Lita)–
"We’ll ask our questions later," said Sailor Mercury (Amy),"Euphoria is waiting on the line back at the Lookout Tower."
"Call out a pokemon Ash; it's faster if we fly,” said Sailor Venus (Mina).
Ash crossed his arms and played," But it thought you
hated–"
"Just do it," Sailor Venus snapped. Ash threw his red and white ball up in the air and out burst from the white light, was a large silver-white bird that looked as smooth as the water on a lake. It had some simple characteristics of a dragon, a long tail that ended with two purple spikes, strange purple feathers in two rows that stuck out on it's back, and purple streaks on it's sharp eyes. It had a long limber neck that was connected to a stout body, and a short curved mouth with the back of its head going into a spike: the pokemon landed by it's summoner and ruffled its wings.
"Lugia? We'll fit better on Rayquaza," said Sailor Venus in an annoyed tone.
"Rayquaza needs a rest, so it's Lugia, or bust," said Ash, and Sailor Venus boarded with a huff. Everyone crammed onto the back of the eighteen foot high legend with Sora up front by Ash just where the neck connected to the body. Goku offered to carry two people to which Faye happily leapt in his arms; Sailor Venus taking up on his offer as well.
Lugia rose up as smoothly as a summer's breeze, almost floating, and flew to the Lookout Tower. High in the sky, Sora observed all around him that was Tumble-Stop: the sight giving Sora a strong nostalgic feeling of Destiny Islands; perhaps because it had such a wonderful tie to the ocean.
A beautiful orange and red sunset, spotted with pink and blue clouds decorated the sky; it was as if Tumble-Stop was trying to reward those who defended it. The sun was partially covered by the sea, its shimmering shadow sparkling across the ocean and beyond the port city, contrasting with pieces of broken physical shadows created from the many structures that blanketed the land below: In the relaxed tone of things, the Sailor Scouts’ fighting attire faded into thier daily clothes.
"This is a really beautiful place,” said Sora; Ed was leaning on his shoulder studying Yugi who was looking at the sunset too.
"Yeah," said Goku flying by, "it's beautiful to alot of people."
"But Tokieo Town is our home away from home,” said Serena, “Tumble-Stop is more of a check-in point since our system is so big."
"So why are yall here at Tumble-Stop?" asked Sora.
"Helping Hands, we've hade quite a few new residents check in, especially with all the recent merges," said Lita, "those who didn’t want to leave this system during the merges came here through a Design of Euphoria's, 'those binds that seek the former ties are bound forever by the home they reside’, uh in, or basically ‘those unwilling to leave their home, may stay'."
Yugi and Ash perked up–*What?*
"What's a Design?"
"Um, it's kinda hard to say, help us out Amy."
"A Design is like a guide, created from the Will of one of the Spirits. Most of these Designs were created at the dawn of time, stated with each Spirit that presides over the individual aspect of existence they watch over. Take Euphoria for example, she is the Spirit of Life, and her Designs deal with life and however you want to live it, but with life comes death, Older Sister's Design, which states death is to come when the life of an individual ends.”
*Older Sister? Oh, that lady on the stained glass!*
“The Design of each spirit intertwines with one another's setting, creating simple guidelines for a universe unrestricted in its freedom of choices offered by the Designs," Amy stated.
"Oh."
"But Designs are just the tip of the iceberg, 'cause then, you have all the Laws to deal with," moaned Serena.
"Yeah, what are they again? Natural Laws, By-Laws, those are the big ones, and then you have the Laws of each system, then the individual Laws of each world, uh, that's all of them right?,” asked Raye.
"I think so,” said Amy, “Euphoria can explain them all to you when we get to the Lookout Tower."
"Hey Sora," said Ash, “What’s our sister system like?"
"It's a really nice place; there are lots of really kind people there, and all sorts of worlds that are more different than the next."
"There's not anything bad going on is there?” Ash asked with a slight waiver in his voice.
"No," Mina sighed, “systems can't merge as many worlds as ours did if the sister system was in a time of disturbance, as we've all said many times before."
"I would like to hear
Sora say that please."
"Since my friends and I were brought here, that’s reason enough that the problem is here instead of there," said Sora.
Lugia shifted its eyes back to its summoner, it felt it's master's chest become heavy.
"Hey Raye, what was that job you talked about earlier?" asked Sora.
"Oh, forget about that, you’re gonna have more important responsibilities," said Raye.
"Well what was it anyways?"
"A Searcher, you know someone who looks for survivors on worlds that have been attacked by the darkness, and, also finding those who escaped merges," said Raye.
"You know on my journey I could do that too, I mean if we bump into anybody that needs to get rescued, I'm not gonna say 'sorry, but I have other things to do,’ " said Sora.
"Welp, we'll see what Euphoria wants you to do.”

YouTube - Phil Collins - Another day in paradise
A cloud of fire began to wrap itself around a world, it’s icon becoming fuzzy on a displayed world map. Nefero set the projected world map to expand the entire dark wall and turned up the volume on a little make-shift radio, getting into a solemn groove, and sang along with the song it caught:
“She calls out to the man on the street, ‘sir can you help me?
It’s cold and I’ve no where to sleep, is there somewhere you can tell me?’
He walks on, doesn’t look back, he pretends he can’t hear her,
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street, seems embarrassed to be there,
“Oh,
think twice; ‘cause it’s another day for you and me in paradise,
oh,
think twice; ‘cause it’s another day for you, you and me in pa – ra – adise,” As Nefero sang with the song he watched the Riders through an Show Me Orb sentence world after world of the Fuukridge System into submission and destruction, each one twisting, bending intwixt themselves, imploding: the world map responding with icons disappearing one after another…:
“She calls out to the man on the street, he can see she’s been crying,
She’s got blisters on the soles of her feet…she can’t walk but she’s trying,”
“Oh,
think twice; ‘cause it’s another day for you and me in paradise,
oh,
think twice; it’s just another day for you, you and me in pa – ra – adise,” –
The Fuukridge System was collapsing; it couldn’t sustain its heart anymore, and billions of screams echoed in the darkness, lost in the coming endless night. Nefero dug in his groove, and prepared for the next verse with passion:
“Oh lord, is there anything more anybody, can do?
Oh-whoa-oha – oh lord, there must be something you can SAY?!” – the radio was turned down.
“Beautiful Nefero,” mocked South Light stepping in, “At least they’re not taking their anger out on the Anime System, I like that one. Come on, let’s get going, I wanna eat.”
………………
Avera subtly grasped his chest, his head, and closed his eyes.
“Can you hear them?” asked Sephiroth.
“Hear what?” asked Little Slugger.
Avera, slightly trembling, nodded, and a tear slipped down his face.
“I wonder how that could have been prevented. Let’s go,” said Sephiroth to Little Slugger, and they left Avera alone in the Alley Way of Tumble-Stop.
Avera waited, making sure Sephiroth had retrieved ‘her’; then, walked through his portal of light to Riku and Kairi, those he must not protect anymore.
You can tell from the lines on her face, you can she that she’s been there,
Probably been moved on from every place, ‘cause she didn’t fit in there,
Oh,
think twice; ‘cause it’s another day for you and me in paradise,
oh,
think twice; it’s just another day for you, you and me in pa – ra – adise.
Think about it.
…”Are you going to report this to the new Master, Sora?”
“No, it was not his fault. These things, happen,” replied a short old woman with pink wavy hair; she walked off.
“Unfortunately.” Vincent picked up the charred body of a little girl and her puppy. They were the only two who didn’t clear out of the square in time, since, the little girl could not pull away her puppy, who wanted to help the strange boy with the golden upside down triangle.
It’s just another day in paradise.
(*Sigh*) This is the puppy who would not stop barking at Pharaoh in Ch. 6-2, along with it’s owner, the little girl.
