I have never played Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, but I was watching a video online, and it seems that the portal to the Keyblade Graveyard (where you fight Terra' Lingering Sentiment/Will) randomly appears in Disney Castle, with no explanation given.

Are there any theories as to why this happens?

Here is the video that fueled my curiosity:

I doubt there is any deeper meaning, as the whole fight, unlike the Lingering Sentiment itself, is non-canon.

However, one possiblility could be that this portal existed because Mickey was periodically going to the KG (without encountering the LS of course) on his quest to determine the fates of Aqua & co.
It's hinted in the Re: Coded secret ending that Mickey devoted some of his time ever since BBS to find out what really happened to Aqua, Terra and Ventus.

I think Hes only looking for Terra and Ven. It seems like recent trailers are hinting that Mickey might have found Aqua in the RoD. who could have informed him of Terra's fate. Because in Re:Coded's ending he only talks about finding Ven and Terra's hearts, impying he already knows Aqua's fate

The fight is canon, actually.

I thought the character and what was said was canon, but Sora actually fighting him was not.

Sora fighting him is canon, considering they provided an explanation for why the battle stopped and all. LS sensed that he was harboring Ven's heart and wasn't a trick sent by Xehanort, so he stopped beating the crap out of SDG.

Honestly, if anything it was a diversion designed by Xemnas. He probably has MX's memory of fighting that sentiment.

Plus, even though darkness can't penetrate Disney Castle, NOTHINGNESS probably can. ;D

This this this.

Also, who started the rumor that LS can actually speak understandable words? Because the moment he says "Aqua...Ven..." Sora goes gun-ho & whips out his Keyblade. And even when LS mentions Xehanort and the other stuff, Sora's expression doesn't change a bit. I just don't see why people think he can actually speak in an understandable manner.

The way he mentions Xehanort at Sora makes me wonder. Could it be possible that MX may target Sora for his own needs. Perhaps, MX take control of Sora.

All theory, and we already saw this happen to Riku. However, it seems Sora might be more of valuable rather than someone MX may want to get out of the way. I speak of MX as a whole of composes Xehanort and himself.

Anyway, nice to know this fight is all canon...aside the cape (unless it grew on him, haha).

When you think about it, SDG's reaction to LS wasn't really that realistic. I mean, I'd at least expect them to say something about him, whether it'd be about who he is, why he's attacking them, etc.

All in all, I wouldn't look into that scene too deeply, because I bet the developers didn't either.

I just don't see why people think he can actually speak in an understandable manner.
Well, considering how Xemnas was an example of a character who was originally portrayed without a voice yet could be understood/had a voice, and how Terra speaks at the end of his story, the idea's not outlandish at all.

The fight is canon. And i thought the portal that leads to KG had something to do with Timeless River, which travel to the past xD

Fixed. Just based on all my experience with KH games, Donald and Goofy constantly get their asses handed to them

It was never confirmed whether or not the battle was canon, only that it was irrelevant, so arguing over it is pretty pointless.

As for why it shows up in Disney Castle, don't over-think it.
It's probably just because they didn't want to make an actual Keyblade Graveyard world on the Gummi Ship map. In that case, they would have had to have given it a name, and I don't think they had one at that point. When hackers did a room mod, they found that the map was labeled "The Gathering Place," not "The Keyblade Graveyard."

Also, who started the rumor that LS can actually speak understandable words? Because the moment he says "Aqua...Ven..." Sora goes gun-ho & whips out his Keyblade. No one? Because it's not a rumor?
The idea that LS isn't speaking in a discernible language is absolute nonsense.

I saw them making LS speak like that because they didn't want to tie a voice actor on his character so soon since that would mean that that VA had to be terra's in BBS.

Yea, but that had Sora have an actual conversation with Xemnas. But with LS he just stayed silent the whole time, which he would probably never do.

I have forget, what LS said after the battle with Sora?

He admitted to be defeated by Sora, yes Sorad did defeated LS cannonically. And for those who say it isnt a cannon fight it is, you have no prove to say its not cannon, the only evicence we have is that the battle DID happened, so as the evidence is on the side of who claim it did happened it is the burden of proof upon those who deny it.

It is actually very funny how people were saying at the enmigmatic man "didnt happened, was just a random fight etc." yet in KH2 it is confirmed to be cannon and that the fight actually happened, and please this isnt the only time we see characters doing illogical things, Sora should have mentioned his previous fight with Xemnas when he encountered him for the second time at the World That Never Was, yet no one spoke about it.

He admitted to be defeated by Sora,
Again, could I get a quote or vid? Not doubting you or anything, I just want clarification.

It could be canon, or not. All Nomura confirmed was that that fight was unimportant.

the only evicence we have is that the battle DID happened, so as the evidence is on the side of who claim it did happened it is the burden of proof upon those who deny it.
Battles can be fought and also not be canon. Case in point, every battle in the Mirage Arena.

It is actually very funny how people were saying at the enmigmatic man "didnt happened, was just a random fight etc." yet in KH2 it is confirmed to be cannon and that the fight actually happened,
I don't remember people saying that, but okay. Either way, though, at least Nomura wasn't being ambiguous with us when asked about Enigmatic Man.
