i bet 1/3 of the people here get it on the 28, 1/3 would get it on the 29, and the last 1/3 get it on the 30.
its going to get crazy next week when people get it before other people on diffrent dates. one would say "ha i got mine the 28th while u had to wait till the 30"
it all depends on the shipping and which stores actually get them on time and decide to stock them.

According to Lightkeeper, the Gamestops are getting the game on the 28th, so how could they all ship there in one day? And like I said, the main website says on sale March 28. If March 28 is the day the game officially goes on sale, then the shipping date is the 27th.

March 28th = The realease date. Not the shipping date, not the Kirby date (I wish it was =D), not the HAHA!!! Papaya!!! date. It's going to be released to the public on that date. not shipped, released to them. >.<

i dunno yo Square's OWN site is conflicted over the release date :/
the front page says ON SALE MARCH 28th in big bold letters but then you go to square's KH2 page and it says shipping to NA retailers on 3/28
so like hell i'll keep with my buddies at gamestop that tell me it'll be there on the 28th...

It's just annoying. I apologize, but you could at least read a few of the pages here before blindly saying "omg itz on teh 28z loserz".

Basically, what KylonCocaliana said. SE's main site says it's on sale the 28th, while the press release says it's shipping the 28th. The two conflict, and since SE's website is more current than the February press release, that's the one I'm going with.

this is what it says on amazon.com "This item will be released on March 29, 2006. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives."

here's what it says on ebgames.com "Ships on 03/28/2006"

Again, just from the February press release. SE's main site says differently. There are two different conflicting points that makes it hard to know which one to side with.

That can be easilty interpreted in several different ways. Units are never first shipped on their original release date. See below.

Again, they basically just copied that press release on to their website.

Yeah, because Amazon really knows what it's talking about. Amazon is extremely inconsistant with dates.

Ah, this again. This has been explained about 3 different times already. When EBGames and Gamestop says that's when the game ships, that's when the game actually ships to you from their warehouse. Consumers are not going to care when the game ships to the warehouses; they want to know when the game is going to be shipped to them. Basically, it's saying that if you pre-ordered the game at ebgames.com or gamestop.com, the 28th is when they're going to ship the game out to you.

Finally, here's a rant made earlier by Kunoke.

I'm tired of all these rumors going around about how KH isn't shipping till the 28th, and will be on shelves later. It's not true. I don't know how it started, but let me fill all of you in.

This is how the game release system works. Shipping is earlier than the release date. You can go ahead and argue against that all you want, I don't care, you're wrong. And I'm not just saying that because I THINK I'm right, it's fact, pure and simple. They ship early to most stores, sometimes even a month in advance. The stores that sell the games all keep a stock pile. That way, when the release date comes and people pile in, they hand the copies to the paying customers, and the customers go home with a big smile on their faces. Mkay?

I've been preordering and picking up games ever since I knew it existed, and I have always gotten my games ON the release date. The 28th is the announced RELEASE DATE. Not the SHIPPING DATE. Two different things. Now, if you're in a special situation where you get your games late, that's different. Because I've heard from certain individuals that they sometimes get their games late. But if you live anywhere near a commercial community, your store already has the games. In fact, I've seen games on the shelves before their release date, but the store isn't allowed to sell them till the release date.

Here's one from Lightkeeper05 that can kind of be interpreted in different ways depending on how fast you think shipping gets done.

OK LISTEN UP!!!!!! Im a manager at one of the Gamestops on the eastern side of the U.S. Now people understand, we are getting the game on the 28th at 5o' clock. Thats does not mean we will be selling them, we are getting them. That goes for all gamestops in ths U.S. We will be selling them the 29th.

Basically, if shipping really does take a full day, then it would be shipping on the 27th. Though if you count "early morning on the 28th" to "5 in the afternoon on the 28th" then yeah, I guess it could ship on the 28th, but either way, it still gets into the store on the 28th.
