Like I said. Compare it to Type-0's blood effects and you'll realize it is a lot more extreme than you think it isn't. And Type-0 is one of FF's bloodiest games yet.

Yeah, Squenix doesn't like bright red blood effects, and tends to use a dark rust red color instead.

This is blood in Type-0:

It's all over the place, mind you, but it's a much different effect than you see in the sorts of games that revel in gore. xD

When you put it on a loop like that, it's easier to see that the dark reddish/purplish stuff fountains out of his eye rather than just trailing behind the ball of darkness Terra shot at him. You can decide for yourself whether it's worse for it to be blood or just smoke from his eye getting burned out. >_>;




Well, the thing is, I'm having trouble seeing Squenix as the type of developer to try to hide things from the ESRB. xD I suppose that's a possibility, though.




It's there, but it's an extremely subtle effect that's probably meant to make the models seem less rigid.

You can see a similar effect with Terra's pecs jiggling here. =3
