Hey so if anyone in the next couple months even in the next year has a meeting, interview or just email one of the creating forces of Kingdom Hearts, can they do the world a favor and ask if they could make the difficulty harder then kh2? KH1's difficulty was very good very challenging and worked and like everyone else i bet the difficulties on KH2 all were easy and if KH3 had the same problem as 2 I would be very dissapointed. See if u can ask if they can do like beginner, proud, critical, and like super critical or something where the bosses and worlds and stuff are all like nearly impossible to beat the 1st time around lol.

i've thought about KH3's difficulty a bit before and i agree, it should be the hardest of the series IMO to reflect how its the hardest trial that Sora and co. will probably ever face. paticularly with the final boss, (who i assume will be Xehanort but of course there's no way to tell.) the final boss should be the longest and most difficult boss fight in the series if you ask me.

Just as long as all the difficulty modes are available from the start (unlike 3D. Why can't I do critical from the beginning?!?! >.<), I'll be happy. Although, all of the difficulty modes can be challenging if you try to stay underleveled (or do a lv1 run).

KH1's difficulty was very good very challenging and worked and like everyone else i bet the difficulties on KH2 all were easy and if KH3 had the same problem as 2 I would be very dissapointed.

Most of the time, I didn't really see a big difference in difficulty between KH1 and KH2, although it may be easier since more of KH2's gameplay was automatic.

See if u can ask if they can do like beginner, proud, critical, and like super critical
I love how you jump from beginner to proud.

or something where the bosses and worlds and stuff are all like nearly impossible to beat the 1st time around lol.

Can you please explain what you mean about "the 1st time around"? Do mean retaining levels and whatnot from one playthrough to another?

The Roleplay Section. I seldom venture out.
I agree. Kingdom Hearts 1 was difficult but it wasn't unplayable. Kingdom Hearts 2 was piss easy, and I agree with what losthearts said, it seemed more automatic in terms of attacks and damage and stuff.

It should be harder though, that's for sure.

They can do a KH3D: make the majority of the game medium-hard and the final battles and post-game hard and harder.

I absolutely agree that KH3 should be alot harder. Look at BBS, the game was pretty easy. Recently I decided to play BBS and keep my levels lower than what I normally do in the game. I fought Experiment 221 with Terra at Level 14 (Normally I have him Level 20-21 when I fight Sparky) and the Fairy Star keyblade equiped. At first I tried using his default Keyblade and I thought to myself, "If they had made Sparky's HP like 900, make you destroy the blasters to draw him out, and allow Terra to do the amount of damage I am with the default keyblade instead of the damage the one you get from Olympus Coliseum does, and allow Sparky to cause the type of damage he's doing right now, then this battle would be perfect.

I found the battle frustrating, long, and satisfying, just how I like my bosses to be. My heart was beating, I felt like crying after a few losses, and when I beat him it felt like an accomplisment.

I want to see the same done in KH3.\

KH3D came really close to how I want boss fights to be (Especially the second to last final boss) but I still need a little bit more of a challenge than that in KH3.

agreeable... I'd like to see the initial difficulty I saw in KH1... but I'd like to see the more complexity of actions seen in KH2, with the variety of methods of attack in BBS and DDD

If they make it as hard as KH 3D they need to make it a lot more fair because that really turned me of on that game.
the first comment doesn't sound like he have played any game outside of KH I and II. I hope KH III is a bit like BBS but harder.
Re Coded would probably have been a good comparison if enemies didn't appear inside you = instant death or if they didn't replenish full health when they flee because you hunt them to far away from their spawning point.

Do I detect a note of elitism?

Uggh! That drove me crazy in Days >.<

To be honest, I don't think difficulty shouldn't be based on how many times you die (not that anyone mentioned that, just my input). Anyway, difficulty varies person to person. I'll admit, I found KH3D to be somewhat difficult, but I was merely playing Standard mode.

I do agree that they should include Critical from the get-go.

The first Kingdom Hearts game had the perfect difficulty level. 3D was relatively close but fell a bit behind (The Red Eyed Nightmare was the only boss that reminded me of KH1 difficulty.

Although, I feel like Kingdom Hearts 1 was as difficult as it was because back then there were only two difficulty settings: Normal and Expert. Nowadays we have like 5.

I think I'll try to play the next main game on the difficulty above normal (Proud or whatever they decide to call it. medium-well done). I tried that with Re:Coded and had a lot of fun with the game.

They can try to balance things out with only three difficulties (Beginner, Standard and Proud).

Do I detect a note of elitism?

is that when someone think that he/she is better then someone else? haven't heard the word before, probably because I'm Swedish.
if so then no. I was just thinking about how much the series have evolved after the second game and that it was a stupid (in lack of a nicer word. irrelevant?) comparison and I was thinking about all the people who skip "those unimportant handheld sidegames" and will understand nothing in KH III (not saying he thinks so, maybe he just can't afford it but still)

I thought KH3D's Critical mode was spot on for difficulty. I had problems with normal Dream Eaters and had to grind like crazy to stand a chance against bosses

Yes, and it includes making assumptions about other people when one has no real way of knowing about those other people (think of a snob). In the realm of KH fans, elitists can include those who play every game and look down upon those who only played the home console games.

if so then no. I was just thinking about how much the series have evolved after the second game and that it was a stupid (in lack of a nicer word. irrelevant?) comparison and I was thinking about all the people who skip "those unimportant handheld sidegames" and will understand nothing in KH III (not saying he thinks so, maybe he just can't afford it but still)
Each KH game has been a part of the evolution of Kingdom Hearts, including KH2. And if that person is most comfortable talking about KH1 and KH2, then they have choice to talk about those items exclusively. Plus, one could make the argument that KH3 will be more similar to the PS2 games than the handheld games (and yes, I know arguments against that argument, so don't start with me here.)

But really, in a few phrases, this:
the first comment doesn't sound like he have played any game outside of KH I and II.

was rather:
it was a stupid (in lack of a nicer word. irrelevant?)

point

Basically, you sounded like a dick, and I was trying to point that out subtly since you seem like a nice guy.

I'm really unsure on how difficult I want KH3 to be. 3D was very difficult for me on Standard, it was probably the only KH game where it took me three hours to kill one boss. Maybe it was because I was on a handheld, I always find that I'm better on consoles...

But on the other hand, if it's difficult, it's more fun.

I'd like to see the initial difficulty I saw in KH1...
I'd say keep it at that difficulty, I didn't really find that game difficult in comparison to 3D.

I think the fact that I've played this series too much made me get used to it, its basically like Sword Training, you eventually get better and stuff that used to be hard are a lot easier now compared to before. Frankly, I found KH2 harder than KH1 but that was probably because I played KH2 first and by the time I played KH1 I already had a lot of experience in KH2.

Regardless, I do agree we need a harder difficulty, I admit that out of all the games, I believe in my personal opinion that KH:3D was a good range of difficulty, enough to be challenging, and the gameplay (getting commands and stuff) was completely different and a very huge factor in how hard the game would be.

That being said, I'd love to see some addition to gameplay that GREATLY changes how difficult the game can be.
I've played all the games in max difficulty I could find, and made it even harder for myself. But a harder (Darkness Difficulty?) would be nice.

Anyway to those who want a challenge, here's a list of stuff you can do to make the game harder.

LVL 1 Run.
Default Keyblade throughout the adventure. (Kingdom Key)
Don't use (Turn off) skills, like Once more, Second Chance, etc. etc.
Using ONLY the DEFAULT Command Deck (except maybe get cure)

Point taken. I'll try to word myself better next time, sense I didn't mean anything bad :)

speaking of difficulty though, next time I replay KH 3D I probably gonna play on Normal for the first time since my first time playing KH II. I hate it when I die because the game cheats me and I have to replay so much because the rooms are so big now. Who knows though, after my critical playthrough I might have gotten so much better that it's just boring (I farmed more then I ever have then though)

KH3D seemed like a step in the right direction. On proud, the normal enemies were OK, and the end-game bosses were pretty hard. Like someone else said, KH3 should be the hardest game in the series be4cause it will be by far the toughest trial for Sora and Co.
