I come from the web...
Ok, So I don't know about anyone else but I've become fed up with looking for a functional guide for item synthesis. I've found some amazing guides but no one I can find contains the total number of items one would need for every synthesis. I will first provide a list of each item, and how many you will need IN TOTAL to complete kingdom hearts final mix item synthesis, I will then list the synthesis items and what is to synthesize them (not all of this information is mine and at the bottom I'll cite the sources I used).

Too tired right now but I will update with found/reward locations for Dark Matter, Mythril, and Oricalcum as the do not have enemy drops

There are some translation problems with the new items being goo's or stones, if someone knows what it's actually going to translate to plz let me know. Please please please let me know if I made a mistake and I will correct it, as I'd like to see this guide be public and eventually posted on gamfaqs or something prior to the release of 1.5 in North America. With that done, here we go...

*indicates new enemy (final mix enemy) [ total # needed]

Hi! First and foremost I would like to thank you very much for compiling this list. It's really a huge help. I would just like to suggest a few alterations...

Lucid Shard, Mystery Goo, Gale, Mythril Shard, Mythril, and Mythril Goo all require more than the amounts shown because of how many Dark Matters you need to make. Unfortunately, the real amounts are ... Lucid Shard 145, Mystery Goo 37, Gale 18, Mythril Shard 144, Mythril 39, and Mythril Goo 35.

(you need 14 Dark Matters and at Lucid Shard x 9, Gale x 1, and Mythril x 2 that comes out to be 126 Lucid Shards, 14 Gales, and 28 Mythrils JUST for the amount of Dark Matter that you need.. it stinks..)

Then, I just noticed the Mystery Force is counted wrong just from doing the math on the list versus the amounts listed in the recipes. I counted 7 ( x 1 for EXP Earring, x 3 for Ribbon, and x 3 for Ultima Weapon)

And the last thing is .. I was wondering what a Giant Shadow is? At first I thought you meant the Soldier shadows but those are simply called Soldiers lmao. I did some research and the only thing close is a Gigas Shadow, which is basically a Giant Shadow. They only appear in the Bizarre Room after you defeat a few waves of normal little shadows.

I haven't had the chance to cross reference with my own game yet, but otherwise everything looks great! Hopefully all of the info is spot on :p I'm about to go hunting for materials for a few hours!

Thank you again!!!

This still needs work. EXP Earring requires Fury Stone, Power Stone, mythril stone, Serenity Power, and 3 Dark Matters.

Oh nevermind, I found out the items were translated differently. If you could add in the translated items that'd be great

The Goos (しずく shizuku, drop) are translated into Stones in the English localisation. Some of them are:

  • Spirit Goo (闘気のしずく): Fury Stone
  • Power Goo (力のしずく): Power Stone
  • Blaze Goo (燃え上がるしずく): Blazing Stone
  • Frost Goo (凍てつくしずく): Frost Stone
  • Thunder Goo (とどろくしずく): Lightning Stone
  • Shiny Goo (きらめくしずく): Dazzling Stone
  • Mystery Force (満たされるチカラ): Serenity Power
  • Mythril Goo (ミスリルのしずく): Mythril Stone
  • Force Goo (みなぎるしずく): Energy Stone
  • Gale Goo (吹き荒れるしずく): Stormy Stone

You find a bunch of Dark Matters throughout the game. I'm doing extras post end-game right now and I've made a total of 2 Dark Matters - one initially, and one to make an extra Power Up. And all I have left to make is Goofy's Seven Elements shield.

And the last thing is .. I was wondering what a Giant Shadow is? At first I thought you meant the Soldier shadows but those are simply called Soldiers lmao. Final Mix Exclusive Heartless Material Hunting

I know how finding them can be a pain, so here's the spawning locations of the Final Mix exclusive Heartless. It may not be complete, but all these locations are confirmed from personal experience. (I couldn't find a guide for specific locations so I decided I'd make one. :p )

Gigas Shadow - Wonderland (Bizarre Room)
Sniper Wild - Traverse Town (Second District)
Stealth Soldier - Hollow Bastion (Entrance Hall)
Chimaera - Halloween Town (Manor Ruins)
Grand Ghost - Monstro (Stomach)
Black Ballade - Deep Jungle (Bamboo Thicket)
Jet Balloon - Neverland (Ship Deck)
Pink Agaricus - Jeep Jungle (Tree House) / Atlantica (Undersea Cave)
Pot Scorpion - Agrabah (Palace Gates)
NeoShadow - End Of The World (Final Rest)

I know this is a bit unrelated to the actual synthesis process, but I figured that a lot of the people who stumble on here would find it helpful.

Edit: Added links to some VERY helpful strategies.

So that people don't have to scroll up and down when consulting this guide, let me just compile everything based on what we've discussed about the Stones in this one post.

  • Fury Stone is obtainable from Gigas Shadow in Wonderland (normal Bizarre Room).
  • Power Stone is obtainable from Sniperwild in Traverse Town (Second District).
  • Energy Stone is obtainable from Stealth Soldier in Hollow Bastion (Entrance Hall and Grand Hall) - they spawn alongside normal Heartless, and be aware that there can be two of them at the same time!
  • Blazing Stone is obtainable from Chimera in Halloween Town (Manor Ruins).
  • Frost Stone is obtainable from Grand Ghost in Monstro (Stomach).
  • Lightning Stone is obtainable from Black Ballade in Deep Jungle (Bamboo Thicket).
  • Dazzling Stone is obtainable from Jet Balloon in Neverland (Ship Deck).
  • Serenity Power is obtainable from Pink Agaricus in Deep Jungle (Tree House) or Atlantica (Undersea Cave).
  • Mythril Stone is obtainable from Pot Scorpion in Agrabah (Palace Gates).
  • Stormy Stone is obtainable from Neoshadow in End of the World (Linked Worlds).

The Heartless won't simply fork out the Stones. All of them, save Neoshadow, require specific strategies, and for those, you can refer to the links that tiamod has kindly provided for each Heartless entry.

The Stones' drop rate isn't 100%, but meeting certain conditions, some of them are sure-drops. They are:

  • Fury Stone - vanquish all 7 Gigas Shadows without taking damage. This will net you two Stones.
  • Power Stone - vanquish a set of 6 Sniperwilds without being spotted.
  • Frost Stone - use Elixir on Grand Ghost to cause it to drop one. Using two will kill it and net you two additional Stones.
  • Lightning Stone - hit the true Black Ballade four times.
  • Serenity Power - land 100 hits on the Pink Agaricus while it is Stopped. This will also net you a Prime Cap.

Happy hunting!

Awesome guide! now i can see exactly what each thing drops. Very convenient.

i have almost synthesized the ultima weapon i just need some orichalcums for one more item before. 3 of them to be exact. I know they are dropped by behemoths but is there an unlimited amount? i know there is one in the 40th seed of hades cup but it obviously cant drop anything. An ideas people?

EDIT: All good item shop in traverse town sell em for 5000 munny (also an orichalcum if you take pegasus cup solo)

You're very welcome! I'm just compiling information for easier reference though... the TC and the FAQ writer have done a way greater job than me to help us.

Glad to be of some help, anyway. And congratulations for finally netting that trophy! I can vouch for the fact that it's not easy. :D

Right, it'd be cool if we could get it all compiled and up on the website or something for everyone to use as a reference (with credit to all the authors of course).

And yes, it was definitely time consuming, but it was good cuz it got my Sora from mid 40's to level 70. Will make the level 99 trophy much easier.

Problem is, now I'm struggling with the last Gummi Ship trophy. T_T

Fantastic guide! I copied/pasted it on my iPad notes and I just deleted when I reached the required amount.

A tip for everyone who is hunting Pink Agaricuses.

Deep Jungle is way too tedious and the respawn probability is pretty bad. Goofy and Donald also get in the way when you use Ragnarok.

I suggest you go to Atlantica.

Abilities recommended/needed: Lucky Strike (Sora + Donald + Goofy), Encounter Plus
Set Donald and Goofy to manual and all their actions to "use occasionally" so they don't interfere at all.

Descent in the Throne Room and go to the Undersea Cave. There is always a Pink Agaricus there. You should follow the standard technique (cast Aerora/Aeroga + Stop/Stopra/Stopga). You can't get as many hit as you would in Deep Jungle with the help of Ragnarok but you can get up to 60 hits. There is a high probability that within these 60 hits, the Agaricus will give you 2 Serenity Powers (it did twice for me).

To make it respawn move 2 areas, from the Undersea Cave to the Tranquil Grotto and then to the Undersea Valley and then back in the Undersea Cave. They always respawned that way for me.

You'll have the required synthesis materials in 10 minutes and you won't waste the huge amount of time I did hunting in Deep Jungle.

^I'm amazed you got anything out of if in Atlantica, D&G kept ruining it in that location for me.

I actually disagree with this as I've found a much easier way to take care of a Pink Agaricus in Deep Jungle.

Here's what you'll need to have:
Abilities:
-Lucky Strike(all members)
-Ragnarok
-Air Combo Plus(as much as you can)
-MP Rage/Haste
-Cheer
Keyblade:
-Diamond Dust ~gives +3 MP~(must defeat Ice Titan)
Summon:
-Bambi(complete a # of torn pages for 100 acre wood)
Magic:
-Stopga(natural game progression/defeat the Phantom in Neverland)
-Aeroga(natural game progression/get all 99 dalmations)

Strategy:
-Head to the Tree House in Deep Jungle until you see a White Mushroom spawn in the area.
-Cast Stopga on all 3 Mushrooms.(Pink Agaricus will spawn)
-Once spawned, target the head so that Ragnarok shows up under the Triangle command.
-Summon Bambi at this point.
-Cast Aeroga on yourself.
-Wait until your MP is full from Bambi MP hording.
-Cast Stopga on the Pink Agaricus.
-Unleash Ragnarok multiple times including a few Air Combos if you can and don't stop attacking until you see Tech Points.
-For this to work the best, you'll need to maximize your MP which basically means leveling up until your MP can reach the max.
-With bambi spawned, Donald and Goofy will disappear, and Bambi won't attack.

If I missed something, or something is unclear to you, I would be happy to post video footage of what I'm talking about.

Can you perform Ragnarok when you summon Bambi?

The problem with Deep Jungle is that I couldn't get it to respawn. I moved between areas, I went back to the Gummi ship... it was pretty random. In Atlantica it's very easy to make it respawn. I collected everything in half the time I needed in DJ just to find one.
