I really dont care how better it could have looked because the original still looks really good to me and Im glad Nomura took the time to draw it. By all means he could have sketched a few characters, but wouldnt have enough time to make the final design so he would have to get one of his co workers to finish it up. Not many people will pay attention to the box art once they have the game in their hands anyway.

I get it though. We just expected the same characters to appear like in the other KH2 box art, but fresh and new. All the keyblades showing up in the sides instead of one place is pretty new too. I still love it!

Unfortunately the special bundles with the PAK are exclusive to Square Enix Japan's e-STORE and Artnia. At the very least, you'll need a contact who lives in Japan in order to obtain it.

It's better then BBSFM artwork, but that's not saying much. I'll give them props for putting effort into this. The BBSFM box art was just lazy.

Like any of you guys in here, I had no idea what nomura was going to draw that cover while in the business, so I have little to no exceptions of it.

I have nothing against that cover or any of Nomura's artworks, however it was feeling like it's not right about the cover, it's like missing a crown in the cover that isn't like in KH1.5's cover with a crowned sora.

I didn't really except anyone aside BBS crew and a few of Sora & his gang and data crew in the cover, until I read some of the complaints in here, so I can see what's missing in the cover.

there's one thing I wonder what'll he say about any of his earlier Box art/cover artworks just like the one of your news where Nomura commented about his creations in KH seriesin KH. Character reports 1&2.

Same here! I'm utterly baffled by it. Usually everyone gets over issues they're dissatisfied with fairly quickly, but this has been going on for 2 days already. Pretty intense!

I am curious though: what exactly was everyone expecting the boxart to look like? I don't think anyone could have predicted this would be the outcome.

My expectations were extremely low and the only thing I wanted out of it was for BBS to be featured properly instead of being relegated into a corner with KH2 front and center, as was the case with 1.5. Lo and behold, that's exactly what we got! TAV are smack dab in the center (and the queen in the middle of everything as she deserves) so I'm pretty satisfied.

I like it, actually. That is, if I turn off my "graphic design student-button". But part of me needs to be critical for stuff like this and that's where the flaws become very obvious. Still, it's not like it's the worst cover ever made. Most people won't even look at this cover art and think about how much better this could've been. They'll just say "cool" and insert the game. No biggie.

Why would he be on the cover? He wasn't a major antagonist at any point in the games. Certainly an important character and the result of BBS & catalyst of the events that happened ten years before KH1.

It isn't like all of the important characters ended up on the cover. Axel, who played an immensely huge role in KH2 is not shown, nor Riku, DiZ/AtW, Kairi, and Namine. Not even Jiminy. So if those characters didn't make it, what makes you think that Apprentice Xehanort would even make it.

I've seen some people state they want to only see the english box art, which is weird because it will look the same. It should drop between a few hours from now and a few months so keep doing what you've been doing so far with presenting sacrifices.

Looking at Xehanort again, his face reminds me a little of Nosferatu.

I actually like the Keyblades surrounding the characters. There are a lot of good ones and it goes with the idea of the Keyblade War in BBS.

Aha it was Vexen! I knew I had seen another KH character artwork that had MX's crazy eye from the 2.5 box art.

I don't know about you guys, but I love that artwork. I feel like the 1.5 artwork has a more overall tightness to the composition. However, I like the look of this one better. And yeah, Xehanort's eye is anatomically wrong. The fact that it's a complete circle would mean it's completely popping out of it's socket. Hence why it looks so messed up. However, I like it. Really gives him that "mad scientist" look and it fits with his creepy, wacko personality.

All in all, totally making this a poster and putting it on my wall. Did the same with 1.5's cover too

Interesting cover! I actually don't mind Xehanort's creepy look, it helps implant the fact that he's an incredibly devious and evil villain. But I do agree that the character stances are unbalanced. Rik should definitely be by Roxas, or Namine by him and KH2 Riku by Mickey. Either way, that side is empty. On another hand, what if that was done on purpose? So that characters would be covered up by different regions' ratings boxes. Hmm...

I still love that second edited cover the most, the one that added the crown for Sora along with inserting Kairi and Namine etc, and making everything feel a bit more centered.

Someone should go to San Diego Comic con and see if they can't slip that art to Nomura personally
