I'm glad I didn't purchase this straight away. I knew there would be a small amount of story content, no longer than 3 hours at most, but I didn't expect so much of it to be such a brazen rehash. It's pretty bizarre and unflattering comparisons will be made weeks, months and years down the line.
On the other hand, the Guardians team up fight and Mickey's set piece (which was sorely needed as this character had been progressively decaying as a badass since 2006) are easily my favourite moments in the entire series.
Within the context of Remind itself, the story flows relatively well, however its really weird to see new and old cutscenes side by side as the old ones just look and feel so stilted.
One part (and the only part) of remind I actively disliked was how Lingering Will just broke apart. Sora really had no right to be there let alone fight, they had already made one off playable sections for everyone else, this filler would have been so much more palatable if we had been fighting as Lingering Will, just the sheer emotional impact of that would be far better than what we got. But I digress, I felt like it was a cheap way for such a legendary character to go.
The FF characters immediately brightened up the scene they were in. Yuffie and Cid alone have vastly superior VA and animations than any other character in the whole game bar perhaps Demyx and MoM, maybe Larxene too. Super fun and super refreshing, they themselves make the case for why they should have been in the base version.
It's amazing how well Nomura is able to write a character that's already fully formed rather than ones that are still getting there.
I (obviously) haven't played the data battles and even if I did have the dlc it would be unlikely for me to do so as that's not really my type of thing. However from the snippets I've seen a lot of work was done for them and they seem to surpass KH2, which should always have been the aim for KH3 in all aspects.
If you enjoy boss fights this dlc is your money's worth. If you're playing for literally anything else I'd advise youtube is your better friend this time around.
One thing I still get a little lost thinking about it:
Spoiler Showhow exactly is Armored Xehanort in the end against Kairi and Sora? Shouldn't he be dead from SDG inside Scala ad Caelum? Is it really him, or only his armor like the replica clones? I don't think I understand the last bit regarding Xehanort
Spoiler ShowI think it's just darkness leaking out from the battle inside KH/Scala and taking form.
You know, I'm starting to see the argument about heteronormativity.

It isn't yet clear how exactly things work out and if this "Dark Inferno X" and Vanitas are two different entities or one and the same.
The only "facts" we have so far from dialogue (and the Xehanort Report from BBS) is that Ven's heart gets described as "too pure" multiple times by now and that some dark entity seems to be either hiding inside Ven or is sealed there.
What is Ven's own darkness and what not isn't clear. If all the Darkness inside him is from a different entity that's just hiding/sealed within him it would mean he really hasn't any and is fully pure like the Princesses.

1. I feel even more that the Master of Masters is going to turn out to be Kingdom Hearts version of the Joker, in terms of causing chaos only for chaos sake.
2. Probably won't happen, but anybody else more interested in the ending where Sora loses becoming canon instead of ending where Sora wins? I think it would be really interesting for the story to have to deal with Sora being crystalized and Yozora having gone through the Inception levels to reach some semblance of the real world (that is assuming I guess that either ending actually happened and not just a dream).
Welcome in the KH saga.
I'm really, really sorry for being the salty gay dude, but this is 2020 for God's sake and I can't stand this thing anymore.
Before I say anything on the subject, I'm honestly really curious what you personally hope the answer is going to be (and conversely, which one you'd find the most undesirable). You're easily one of the most hardcore Ventus fans I know, so I'm sure you're full thoughts would be particularly interesting.Spoiler Show

Spoiler ShowIf Ventus was a pure light all this time then he’s the first prince of light omg. Let it be canon, I always dreamt of it. Especially the Snow White parallel with him in 0.2. Sure it’s a retcon but Prince Ventus is what I want.
Spoiler ShowFirst of all I have to say, and I don't mean this in a mean way at all, that the enjoyment of some of the posters would benefit from taking things less seriously and treating this videogame series as what it is - just a bunch of videogames, entertainment.
That being said:
- Re:Mind: just like anyone else, I was annoyed by the old cutscenes and a part of Re:Mind felt like a chore because of this. Playable characters were also hit or miss. I played on critical mode and using Riku and Aqua was a pain, I had to give up and use Sora. Roxas was easier (and fun) to play, still hard (especially when you fight Xemnas) but manageable. Kairi was even more OP than Roxas but her fight was considerably longer and more difficult, I managed to reach the final phase of the fight and I had to switch back to Sora after way too many tries. Everything after that was awesome, though. The quicktime event, Mickey's segment, Sora and Kairi and the final fight. A lot of these scenes instantly became some of my favourite in the series.
- Limit Cut: it was nice to see a canon explanation for data fights and it was nice to see FF characters again (especially the one you see on the left). The data fights are awesome and I struggled even at proud level 99 with Ultima. They all feel very fair and rewarding and they personally put the ones in KH2FM to shame. I love KH2FM's datas but man, Limit Cut has a better arena, 13 awesome remixes and new fights instead of simple powered up versions. Awesome. I really really like the new music and it's nice to have some unofficial themes for some characters (Luxord's remix is particularly awesome). I'm not really a Xion fan (I don't like Days in general) but her fight was the best one, it gave me goosebumps. The music, her voice lines, her attack... Such a majestic fight. In a way less poetic way, her fight felt like Roxas in KH2FM if Roxas decided to do drugs.
Fairy Godmother was also a nice addition, even though hyping DDD 2 is a bit scary because I really dislike DDD.
- Secret episode: pretty cool cutscene. I didn't like KH3's secret ending because Yozora felt like a joke character but... Man this new secret ending reminded me of KH2/2FM's secret ending. I really don't care if this is only salt from nomura because of Versus, but I'm here of it. The fight is also crazy and the music!!! So awesome... Even though I get to listen to it for around 30 seconds each time, before Yozora utterly disintegrate me.
Also, as a Luxord fan (he has always been my favourite Org member) I was pretty happy to see that Re:Mind (the whole package) started and ended with him. My boy is going to get a bigger role and I can't wait!
I wanted to say something about the price. First of all, KH's additional content has always been mainly about gameplay (I guess only few people bought KH2FM just for 30 minutes of new cutscene?) so if you are not really interested in bosses and replayability, this package is not for you just like the other Final Mixes.
It's also pretty shallow to treat the sheer gameplay time as the only factor that decides whether or not something is worth a certain price. This logic leads to some weird and dumb outcomes: The last of us took me maybe 15 hours to finish, while Persona 5 took me 90 hours. This logic would force me to say that either The last of us should have costed 10$ or Persona 5 could have gotten away with a 360$ price tag. Both conclusions are obviuosly dumb.
Personally, it took me around 12 hours to beat re:mind and limit cut (on proud). Now I have to beat them on critical and then beat the secret boss (on proud first, which is harder than it sounds lmao). Then I'll probably take a break from KH as a did a level 1 in both KH1 and KH2 in preparation for re:mind and I'm kinda burnt out. Then I'll finally try the premium menu (which brought back the objectives from 0.2 in a way, but no one talks about it). I like to replay KH games so KH3 having so much replayability is a big plus for me. All things considered, this was worth the money because I was interesting in most of the things it offered. It doesn't have to be the same for everyone, but let's not act as if a) we didn't know what we were getting b) the value we give to things wasn't mostly personal.
