Information

Kingdom Hearts II's OST is to be composed by Yoko Shimomura. As the theme song is now Passion by Utada Hikaru. She also released two versions of Passion on a single album. Passion ~Single Version~ and Passion ~After the Battle~. Only Passion ~After the Battle~ is going to be used in Kingdom Hearts II, as a mix version of Passion ~ Single Version~ is to be used in Kingdom Hearts II. Which could be heard in the latest Promotional Trailer. The mixed version is also up for downloads, which is in the OST section.

The download versions may differ later on to the final version in Kingdom Hearts II, however due to demo reports, they have all remained the same. There will be a huge update once the game is released, and an even bigger update once the Soundtrack is released.

Thanks to burningkeyblade the english version of Passion has been confirmed, although there is no musical release yet of it, I'll update it once it comes out.


Thanks to Kingblade a blog that Yoko-san owns, stated that the Kingdom Hearts songs will have a slight twist since she enjoys making new music, meaning the old ones, that are up for download, will be just a little preview of the real thing to come.

Who says they wont totally redo the Hollow Bastion song and Olympus Colloseum especially, not to forget Agrabah and Atlantis. Especially Atlantis!! Atlantis has now a total different way of music, Colloseum mainly is in the Underworld, HB looks extremely differnet now, Agrabah as well...

I'm not convinced...

Well, he's checking up on the latest news and keeping us updated. It was me who found out that "Passion" would have an English version. They had Simple and Clean in English, so they couldn't refuse now, could they? How can we understand Japanese?

We will probably find out more when KH2 is released in Japan. When is it again?

I think there's only 3 versions of Passion. We currently have the Single Version and the After The Battle Version (from Utada Hikaru's single cd). The one featured in the recent trailer is probably the opening KH2 version, which we'll have completely once the soundtrack is leaked/released. I doubt they'll make a mix of it like Simple and Clean, but it'd be interesting. If they did, it should've been shown on the soundtrack.
