Seems to be a total mess with all "heroes" except Donald holding an idiot ball the size of a pumpkin, huh?

Nomura & co., that's not "dramatic" that is facepalm worthy.

They had to make Aqua petrefied. Otherwise she would've solo'd Terranort (again) on her own while everyone else litterally does nothing.

Just like they had to make her stop effectively using her magic so she wouldn't put Vanitas at death's door like she almost did in BBS.

Yeah, remember when Aqua took down Terranort singlehandedly? Remember how Terranort totally didn't lose because he had to stab himself due to Terra?

Seriously, Aqua didn't beat Terranort at all. She only did so in gameplay. In cutscenes, Terranort was STILL STANDING and only lost because Terra tried to intervene.

also im seriously starting to think Disney had way more involvement than usual considering its only the Disney characters doing literal one-shotting.

and if anyone starts bringing up how Terranort was taking too long with Ven, it's called a slow motion effect.

Opinions thus far...

- They're really pushing Sora/Kairi here now that she can be around more often. I don't mind. But those who wanted Kairi to come into her own by herself before the romance seeped in (which was discussed in a thread in this forum) may be disappointed. Of course, we haven't seen everything.
- The slapstick comedy. The villains being presented as a joke is something that I'm not fond of :/. Disney villains, I understand, but it coming into original villains like The Organization and Vanitas? (as funny as it was) Eh. They should have done so in the first place, instead of changing it around with this game. Now it feels...off. I love Larxene to death, but they've made her more of a caricature this time. I fear for Naminé at this rate.
- The emotional pull between characters. This is the first we've witnessed a reunion scene among many to come I'm sure, and it fell short. "Good morning", pat on the head. That's it? No tears? No hug? It doesn't help that Willa is sounding monotone. If this is an example of what's to come, those who wanted a big, emotional, beautiful gathering of each trio are going to be thrown in for a loop. Then again, the game can't be at fault for how fans' imaginations run wild.

Now onwards to the Keyblade Graveyard.

All of this. They are seriously rushing all the emotional scenes.

Right, because this is suddenly not a game, and the only reliable part of the narrative is the cutscenes. Ok. Except that happened at the end of fight when we visably see that he's been worn down and pushed back. Guess the presentation was just faulty in that case. I mean.. are we really going to pretend Terranort didn't throw everything he had at her and still wasn't able to overcome her whatsoever? Aqua earned that victory. But whatever, I guess not. It's inconsequential either way though since she just stands there doing nothing in the end.

So that means now UX is stealing the show while our actual supposed "heroes" are all down?
For what did Sora & the player do all the efforts to save and gather allies such as Ven and Aqua when they're just cannon fodder?

Ugh.That was so hard to watch. I can see the OG leaker was being truthful now. This is the part that was "meh" and then it redeemed itself later somewhat.

I'm not even mad after seeing all this stuff, I'm just kind of sad-laughing. These cutscenes are poorly thought-out to the point of being a bad comedy.

I guess that's the end of it for me, to regard the KH series as neither bad nor good, just a mass of wasted potential.

Pretty sure there is a gag order (a NDA) till US Release for reviews. Most big titles are like that.

And it's precisely those character to character moments which this game is not sufficiently rewarding, for reasons I've already outlined.

If the best argument you can provide is, "I don't care about the writing and I accept that it sucks," OK. It's your right to approach the game with that expectation in mind, but I'm not going to stop faulting it for failing at its basic purpose, which is to tell an effective story. Again, if you disagree with the specific examples and inferences I've made, I'm happy to entertain a discussion with you about them, but other than that it just seems like you're trying to shut down the conversation because you don't find a value in it. In which case, you have a right not to participate in it and talk about the aspects of the game which do have value to you.

No disrespect Alexis but wouldn't it make more sense to play the game yourself rather then judging it based on what another persons viewpoint is?

And that goes for everyone here as well. KH3 is almost here and for many people the story of KH is just there. What keeps people coming back are the beloved characters, the Disney connection, and the combat system which from the sounds of it is incredibly fun.

The story has never been the strong point for KH series and will never be what it's known for.

This is why I don't watch streams of people playing games or anything. Watching cutscenes is one thing and watching someone play the game is another. It's an entirely different scenario all together playing the game yourself, and watching those cutscenes yourself, and being immersed in the environment.

I'd like to site an incredible game ,The Last of Us. Which the ending to the game is perfect, but it is that way because of the journey the player has been on. Watching cut scenes of the game doesn't garner the emotion, playing the game does it.

I love it so far. It's the kind of pure and absolute absurdity that I have come to expect from this series. Only scene I actually have an issue with is the Terranort scene. Everything else has been great.

This is going to sting, but I think they INTENTIONALLY made everybody stupid in this game. Think about it. Disney has been getting backlash like crazy for Rey in Star Wars being a "Mary-Sue", and they will probably get the same for Captain Marvel. It doesn't matter if those characters actually do have faults or make mistakes, the internet culture hates them. So Disney probably decided, "what if we just made everyone fail repeatedly? Then they can never be considered Mary-Sue." Then Disney sees that everyone payed money to go see Infinity War, and so they assume that's what people want for everything. And thus this happened.

This is a war between the two halves of internet culture in gaming form.

And no I'm not defending these choices. Just trying to figure out why.
