In the Frozen stage, Larxene manipulated the ice from the wall Elsa made and turned it into a super elaborate prison with secret passage ways and spinning doorways. Plus there was also the stylish embellishment everywhere. This is my first time playing this game and I haven't gotten all the way through it yet. When I saw this my mind was kind of blown that it was Larxene who made this and not Elsa. Any thoughts?

Kingdom Hearts is full of architectural geniuses. Aqua, Xemnas…

Larxene being one is wild, yeah, but also I’m more shocked she could manipulate ice with her lightning powers. Make that make sense.

Yeah, I remember thinking that was odd about Aqua too... Xemnas though I could almost imagine since Xehanort's some kind of a multi-layered genius himself.

Larxene using electricity to move ice made almost no sense (turning potential energy into kinetic energy??). The breaking of normal physical possibitlies is something that's not too hard for me to accept in these games, I was just surprised that the building she created looked soo much like something Elsa would make. It made me wonder if the Elsa's magic remained in the ice and contributed to it's appearance.

I think the mistake is assuming this was just like energy movement, larxene was hijacking the remnants and Elsa's ice magic and mixing it with her own magic so she could control it. The whole place is a fusion of Larxene and Elsa's powers, you can see that in the design. Electrified ice traps and other sadistic machines design to kill you, a castle that pay homage to Castle Oblivion right down to having cheeky chain motifs in it, Larxene's symbol are ALLL over the place like on the walls but the overall giant structure is Elsa's signature snowflake.

Elsa's ice isn't just ice, it's magic in it of itself, it can co-exist without her once made such as Olaf and Marshmallow do, and other magic can interfere with it which is also a major premise of the second Frozen movie. So by leaving behind magical ice energy Larxene was able to hijack it by fusing her own lightning magic into it and thus she could grow and reshape the ice into what she wanted. Trace's of elsa's magic in the form of her signature snowflake is seen, but the whole thing itself is Larxene's designs twisting the magic of Elsa with her own influence.

This ties into another plot point, it's not just random, Larxene let Sora know Elsa's magic is volatile and will become what she believes it to be, it could turn into darkness or light, and that's why she refused to let him interfere. The ice maze is a representation of that, someone from the dark taking and twisting Elsa's volatile ice magic for her own ends, it shows how dangerous it can be depending on what messes with it.

*edit*

In fact I think a nuance that is often underappreciated is how elsa's magic has a distinct architectural look to it, the ice maze looks nothing like what Elsa would make. When Elsa is happy, confident, etc... her magic has a soft, fun, smooth, and rounded aesthetic with a detailed artistic look reflecting her creativity. When elsa is sad, upset, angry, etc.... her magic turns harsh, sharp in a deadly way not an artistic way, rough, and loses its creativity for a chunky bluntness to it. Marshmallow and Olaf are two perfect signs of this. Both are snowman but one is a lot less put together looking because one is made during her high point of let it go and the other is made out agitation and fear.

The ice maze isn't something Elsa could create. It's full of creativity but it's all creativity designed to harm, it's smooth but not rounded, it's harsh but not rough. It's deliberately malicious and purposeful in design, it was created with a clear intent to hurt and keep you lost, to toy with you and trap you. It's not meant to push you away it's meant to swallow you and make you suffer. Elsa is loneliness and distance it's Larxene who is enjoys in your face deeply personal suffering

It's not Elsa, it's Larxene all over.

These are all really good points. I think I'm pretty satisfied with this explanation.

That place. The place with the thing.
Not sure if I've seen their take on this. Where could I see it?

tl;dr version: Nomura originally had very different vision in mind for the game’s take on Frozen, and Disney’s executive meddling forced the developers to change everything and repurpose a bunch of the stuff they’d already made, accounting for the world’s weird pacing and overall shoddy adapting of the story.

But it’s just a theory. A game theory.

I’m still 100% convinced Larxene’s sudden ice power is down to what the guys over at The Game Theorists speculated.
Ah, people still watch that click-baiting bastard? news to me...
Anyways, this looks like a job for a biologist (kind of)
Larxene controlling ice despite being a thunder specialist is actually pretty simple. Everyone knows that ice is essentially frozen water, and inside said ice are water molecules. So despite ice being a poor conductor of electricity, it can be moved around by it which sort of answers her telekinetic abilities.

My main issue with that video (and that man as a whole) is that he took a series that has a lot of lore to it with numerous theories for various things, and he chose the dumbest possible thing to overanalyze and beat a dead horse. Plus he starts it off with "KH is complicated, oh nooooo" joke that I'm just so sick of seeing nowadays. But then again, if he's going to overanalyze a series to death, he should just stick with FnaF.

I don't really have an opinion on Game Theory. I think I've watched some of their videos before. Before Five Nights at Freddy's blew up. I didn't really stick around because well, often the theories were too out there for me. Or for some reason, he'd be on the right track and then swerve into a bizarre direction that didn't really make sense to me. But that was kinda the point, or at least I thought. Game theories that no one else came up with, even if that made the theory too out there.

To be honest, the super negative opinion of him is kinda odd. Didn't used to be that way. But I guess when you spend years on FNAF content, people opinions turn sour overtime.

Wouldn't electricity being able to move the ice be giving the ice too much energy and thus melting the thing as it was made? Or explode because too much heat was generated so the ice rapidly shifts from a solid to gas? I looked it up just a bit ago electrifying ice causes it to melt, or explode if done too fast.. Besides the fact magic and science aren't always the best of friends.

Anyway the theory of Disney meddling isn't bad, it is consistent with some of their previous decisions with other media as well, and I wouldn't say MP made that theory really even I posted my thoughts on what happened several times over the course of being on this site, which is mostly from a "Disney was much more demanding this game" interpretation. That's just me though.

That's the thing, he's not one to take criticism well. I watch a guy by the name of TheGamerFromMars and he once pointed out some of the "flaws" in Game Theory, such as the excessive amount of Fnaf content that he says "isn't much of his content" and that not many kids watch his videos because of Fnaf (Which is a lie, because the age demographics on YouTube are very spotty). It's just frustrating to watch him get bigger and bigger because of his undying loyalty to that damn game franchise, to the point where he was able to meet the pope, and of all the gifts he could have feasibly gotten him, he gave him Undertale when his holiness doesn't know how to use a computer.

Electromagnetism man, that's primarily how it works. Also the heat of the thunder magic seems to vary in the KH series, as it doesn't appear to have the scorching properties that we'd associate with lightning in our world. Given that she's experienced in her element, I believe she could have altered the amount of joules (the measurement for heat in an electric current) in the thunder to move the ice through a form of kinesis.

Oh yeah, I heard about that Undertale thing. Honestly I don't know why people blew up about that. I'm not a religious person so it doesn't matter to me what he gave the Pope. Would nice flowers have been better?

But yeah. The FNAF error was a bit much. I don't really hate that game serious either, the first one had an interesting setting and mechanics. But oof the amount of diehard fans it obtained is kinda weird. A lot of indie horror games have been like that lately?? It's odd.

People often give gifts to the pope as a form of cultural or diplomatic symbolism. It's often seen as an olive branch of sorts and also helps bolster unity, seeing as he's largely representing the Catholic faith. So gifting him flowers is something people do, but it's often the type of flowers that is given that's most important. Barack Obama gifted the pope a box containing wood fragments from the Baltimore basilica and a few fruit and vegetable seeds from the White Hosue garden. Other gifts include a gift basket of numerous foodstuffs from Queen Elizabeth, a soccer ball from a goalkeeper on a famous Italian team, and Gaucho figurines from Uruguay.

In my eyes, it's grown too much clout for what I personally think is a dumb premise to base several games on and rarely innovate. Just my opinion, but I imagine others share the same sentiment.
Wait what?
MatPatt was chosen to represent YouTube for America in an interview with Pope Francis, with numerous other people of note including George Clooney (famous American actor). He did a video explaining his reasoning that TOTALLY doesn't seem like a massive stroking of his ego given the jokey claims he made in it. Here's an article.
Though I reiterate what the above article states, how can you actually gift Undertale when no physical copies exist? maybe a steam code? either way I can guarantee all of you that gift went to waste, the pope can barely use the computer as is, you think he's honestly going to be able to figure out how to download a damn game?
