Lost Heros, Lost Hearts

Prologue:

The young new keyblader, made his way over to the sharp edifice sticking forth from the ground, the rock seemed special, and it was the only thing left in this baron field. The blader walked up, turned his back toward it and leaned against it, but it was not long before he slouched down. The keyblader wore a big black t- shirt with a dark blue over coat, baggy jeans and bright red shoes. He held what was left of the Ultima key blade.
He mumbled “Could things get any worse?” As the thought crossed his mind, it seemed in reality that wasn’t possible to get worse. The current world was decimated.
“This was Hollow Bastion right? Or…at least…it fits the name again.” He added
It was baron; the rock he leaned against seemed to be the only thing standing up right, but that was not for long. The rock them seemed to suddenly them fall back, taking the blader with it. His already torn and beaten body did not need to smash against the ground again but it did, even worse, he smashed against a rock.
“Argh!” He yelled as he rolled off the rock. He had landed on his side, and regardless he was already on the ground, his body was that badly injured. He was then surrounded by Heartless and instead of being killed he was captured. It seems that the magic of the key blade was tainted by the heartless, the strongest magic, Ultima, has taken form with the taint and has taken a hybrid heartless/human form. It looked horrible, and even worse, Ultima made uproar and is controlling a heartless army that could take a world instantly. There are many baron worlds between Hollow Bastion, and most of the planets were inhabited by hordes of fiends.
Ulitma slowly made his way over to keyblader and demanded “Hand over the key blade, let go of Trinity…” Trinity was the other powerful magic the key blade held, the key blade without its two most powerful magic’s, Ultima and Trinity, it will eventually fade away and never return. Ultima stood tall wielding a giant thick metal sword, his body was like a neo shadows but had a human head that was arched to the side as if it neck hand been broken, he had a disproportional 2nd right arm, Ultima’s body creaked every time it moved, and it was deformed and looked horrible.
The Keyblader never answered; instead he gave in to his despair witch weakened his heart, and with a weak heart he could not hold the key, he then slowly fell to his knees. With a chance to escape the key left, to try and find a heroin worthy to wield it and save the universe. In wild and uncontrolled anger, Ultima disposed of him.
“I’m...sorry…” A distorted voice called out.

Chapter 1: There is mild course langauge in this chapter ( 2 words)

Suspicous

I awoke in a cold sweat, frozen almost. I hated waking up in a sweat because, no matter what, I could never go back to sleep. I awoke an hour early. I guess this gives me time think alone. It was 5:00 am, I’d usually wake up 6:00 am to do what I am doing now, thinking. I had to start trekking to school, at 7:30 am, so really I was 2 hours early.
I thought of what my brother would say in this situation.

“That sucks don’t it?” I mocked. But I must admit, it really did. Especially, since I loved sleeping. Speaking of my brother, that dream I had, the person looked like him. My brother had left a week ago and he left me three things: A thin long sword, gummi ship piloting guide, and a small envelope, that he told me to open and use “When the time was right” What ever that may mean. Considering the following something bad may happen. But considering I’m on a peaceful island, did the people really deserve that? I then looked at the clock.

“Wow, it’s already been two hours? 30 minutes left better get ready for school.” I then replaced my dull blue, pajamas with Blue shorts that stretched slightly below my knees, and a Black and Red jersey, because this island is HOT. “What the heck!? Over 90 degrees again!?” I exclaimed as I checked the weather on my computer. Since I was here alone I could yell like that. Me and my brother lived away from our parents, on this island. He’d never tell me why, but their could be so many reasons why! There’s just so much to think about. What happened to our parents, what happened to my brother, and why did he teach me so many combat skills and magic before he left? It hit 7:30am, and I left out, feeling as if my mind was trapped in a flying cage, with monkey taunting me next to it.

At school it was boring as usual. Lectures, art lessons, gym, literature, etc. What really gets me is how people criticize my age and height. I’m not that much taller than every one else. Being 14 and six feet tall is not strange, but that’s just me.

Today was the last day of school and that would mean three months of, well, um,...enjoying I’m not here,...at school.

“Hey, Range!” Someone called out to me. Range was my nickname.

“Huh, what?” I called back

They then walked up to me, I knew him. It was Wanson; he was famous for being nosy.

“I have a question that craves an answer!!” He yelled to grab attention, it did. Especially since it was the 2nd half of lunch. In high school there were lots of other things to talk about, that exclamation he made, interrupted every one, including gossipers. Gossipers speared every rumor or event that happened through the island. The destiny islands may be small but the part we were on was packed. Me and my brothers business didn’t need to be known. He the asked: “Why are you always acting so suspicious?” That was a good question. I guest I made it to obvious that I was afraid of something.

“None of your damn business.” I finally replied

Wanson walked up then pushed me and re-asked “Why?

“Like I said none of your damn business” I said then pushed back. Five of his friends stood at that moment. All attention was now on us. The other students circled us, ready to see a fight, even the teachers were in the crowd. Is it that exciting? Thirsty teachers. Well I guess I’m not getting out of here without doing some thing suspicious.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Please comment.
THANKS FOR THE GOOD COMMENTS!!
Side note: on the "14 and 6ft tall" comment has conections withs with reality because I'm 13 and 6ft tall, really.

Chapter 2:

Conspicuous

I had been acting ever so slightly paranoid the last few days I admit, but I had hoped no one would notice. Maybe it would be better of to go on and tell them what I think, but there’s not reason to build tension, and worry if nothing ever happened. Plus, I feel serious guilt over things that have any thing to do with me. I’d feel seriously awful if I made people worry over nothing. So what if it selfish, I’m not telling, but I’ll guess be alone if something did happen, many people would die and I’ll have to bear immeasurable guilt. But now I have to worry about this. Wanson and his friends. Wanson was a short boy, with scruffy short blonde hair, and he always, not matter what, whore baggy blue jeans, and a red shirt, alternating colors every day. How he never fainted was a good question. Wanson and his friend shared one thing: they loved exploiting secrets. Sometimes it was a good thing they did, but not now. Their like detectives, but they ruin lives, but like I said, sometimes it’s a good thing, but someone would always get the worst of it. But now there going too far, I wonder what was wrong with them….could it be connected to those creatures, and my worries? I hate to say this but…quite possibly. But now I had to worry about, them. Most of his friends were juniors (11th grade) or seniors (12th grade) and were just as tall as me. It was 3 juniors, 2 seniors, and one freshman (9th grade), against one tall freshman. Oddly enough, I’d say that were pretty evenly matched.
They then started towards me. Wanson was holding a sly smirk, that looked like someone else’s. Something was not right, it was now clear, they were being controlled. Ahh well, might as well make this quick. I am very efficient in magic, and now about to use it. Wanson leaped toward me, in rage. But by the time he got the attack off, I was gone. I had then reappeared behind him and I smashed my elbow into the back of his head, instantly knocking him unconscious. I never really disappeared but I used stop. Stop, literally stops time. I loved using it; it made things a lot easier. His friends ran towards me in fury, and when one launched an attack, I used stop again and moved one of the other ones that was running toward me and put him right in front of the one that tried to attack, and when stop ended, he ran right into it, knocking him unconscious. For their size they aren’t very tough, at all. Four left. One was clumsy and while he was running toward me he tripped and slid across the floor. He kept sliding and slid right out of the fray, and crashed into a wall. Two fled battle and that was just pitiful. And their was just one left. This time I ran up and with unmatched speed I jump up and round house kicked him in the face, it sent him back, but he ran back toward me, but I shifted out of the way, and put my foot out right were his leg was and tripped him. He quickly got back up, unabashed, and leaped into the air and tried to use a jump kick, I dodged again and unleashed and back-fisted attack into his stomach. Then I pushed him aside and at that minute the bell rung and I walked to my next class. Everyone who saw it was in awe, but it didn’t bother me. I when through the rest of day like normal. I was so happy when the school year had ended that day; I passed my first year of high school, and got to enjoy Three months of no school, and since it was the last day of school there was nothing they could do to me. What could be better? I hope they can’t do anything to me.

I used the raft too go to the main island, it was main because in was in the middle, but that did not matter. Though I lived on the other island, this one was quieter, much quieter. No worries, nothing big. I sat, lost in thought, almost like a corpse, I had no movement, but I don’t smell like a dead fiend. I sat on the shore, the sun set, and the sky was bright orange, and the sea rippled colors of red and blue. I heard yelling in the back round, it wasn’t clear but, then my set of thought was lost and it all came back. I turned around and saw one of my best friends, running toward me, Lilla Fralin. She ran with her hands in the air as if she was the most positively, happiest, optimistic person in the world, but she didn’t come to talk about happy things.
“Hey! Range, What is your problem!?” Fralin tossed

“What!? Why, do you always bother me when I’m relaxed!?” I tossed back, but that was pretty much true she always bothered me when I’m in thought, except when she’s sleep. Lilla Fralin was a very athletic girl, she tries to stay in perfect shape, and she does lots of sports and a lot of activities that take muscle to do. She wore very short gym shorts that very short and only stretched about 4.5 inches down, and she had wore a very baggy and big long sleeve sweater that was noticeably thin She also had big baggy, fluffy orange hair. She seemed confused at what I was doing here. I got up in slight fury.

“Because all you always, say you’re going to do something then never do it!” Fralin yelled
“What do you mean!? I always don’t do something when I say I am!?”
“You were supposed to meet me at 4:30, at now its five!”

“You know what, forget you! But, anyway, how did you know I was here?”

“I know you, you like quiet places, I know you” Fralin finished. I was around her a lot and I she was almost like a sister.

“What did you want any way? It seemed really important.” I asked

“Well haven’t people been acting weird, lately? And now Wanson? He’s about as nice as people get.” She then walked up to me and started to cringe “What do you think going on?”

“Well I-“Then I was suddenly interrupted. When me and Fralin turned to see who it was there was nothing there and the sand was aroused. We turned back the way we were, there stood Wanson. Wanson had pushed us back, hard. We landed in the sand, paranoid; we barely had known what hit us. We looked up and we saw Wanson, his face showed rage and his eyes showed fury.

He stood there for a minute then he finally blurted out “You love birds are so conspicuous.”

“What, love birds!? What do you mean!?” I asked. Fralin sat there blushing. “Hey!! What’s your problem?”

Fralin slowly looked over at me, her face slightly red she asked “What’s wrong with being a love bird?”

“Okay, lets just about the main problem” I said while I looked over at Wanson again, he just stood there mad.

Then he started “When a key blade is tainted the taint can take over the user and there allied forces, there was nothing we could do nothing about our actions. You knew well about this, Range.”

“Then who has the key blade?” Fralin asked

“I do.” Wanson ended. Then extended his arm and then bright waves appeared and a blade formed at the ends, when it finally was fully formed, I saw it was the key.

“So, my worst nightmares have come true, my brother, really is dead.” I finished.

Chapter 3:
Restoration

I felt empty, my heart was destroyed. My brother had known he should not have went, his body was already in bad shape, he had severely torn muscles, weak bones, and he was not even half rested enough to function properly. Wanson seemed to know about more about this, I started to ask him.

“Do have any idea what going on here or at least what….happened to…” I started to ask, I sounded desperate, I didn’t know what to do.

“No, but listen, I know you don’t know what was happening, so I’ll tell you, or at least what I know, something bad is happening tonight, or early tomorrow. I don’t exactly what, or who, but I know something’s happening, I can feel it, it’s unbearable!” Wanson stated. He then tossed at sword in a smooth wooden cover at Fralin. “I know you don’t have any thing to fend of fiends with, here, keep it, I know hag around Range a lot, and you wouldn’t just leave him, so here”

“Thanks, Roas!” Fralin replied. John was his first name, Roas Wanson. He then tossed a sword at me, it was the sword my brother left me, in its holder and all, it was a thin, not very wide sword, it was a kitana, which is sword that bends up at its tip. It is very long. About 6ft long. It was made for quick kills.

“How did you get this out of my house?” I said lifelessly

“Well, uhh, ya know, um….HEY it’s not like I stole from you, or left the door open!!” Wanson replied. Its not I would of cared if he stole from me at this point. I just didn’t care any more. I didn’t know what else to believe in now. I still could not get over it, no heart heals fast.

“Now for pay back from that fight earlier!” Wanson yelled. I didn’t move a muscle.

Fralin got up, looked over at me, with sad look then, turned back at Wanson. “I guess I’ll go against then. Wanson nodded, and then leaped over at Fralin. I didn’t like being comforted, I prefer being alone She took to sword from the cover with the quickness, she blocked the attack. Fralin was unexpectedly good with a sword. Fralin and Wason were dueling while I watched, with no interest. Fralin tied up with Wanson. At the next showdown (place and/or when swords meet) Fralin knocked the key blade out of Wanson’s hand. It flew off and away when she ran up again, the key reappeared in his hand and unexpectedly, he smashed the key into her side, in her ribs. Fralin fell to a knee, with a destroyed look but, quickly recovered, with ease. The key looks diluted, there were small chips all over it, and it seemed as if it was being destroyed, gradually dieing a little at a time. It seemed in pain. I’m not tired, but suddenly I felt the need for sleep. I laid over in the sand and fell directly to sleep.

I seemed to awake, feeling as if I lost my body and was just a heart. I looked down, and from the looks of it, I’m standing on a stain glass floor. I looked on to see that this whole area is a compilation of stain glass pillars connected by stain glass bridges. The rest was darkness, pure darkness. I voice called out:

“This is the station of sanctuary, you are one our last hopes, restore your heart.” The voice commanded.

I was confused I didn’t know what to do I yelled: “What do you mean our!? What do I do!?” I felt lost; I didn’t know what to do.

“Advance forward” It ended. I walked forward; I didn’t have the energy to run. “Destroy the darkness in your heart, those monsters, heartless” It commanded once more. My sword appeared in my right hand, and I effortlessly killed the heartless with it. When I reached the top, I saw a boy with spiky brown hair, wearing a unique mostly black out fit. It’s much to complex to explain, he had a red and blue hoodie, and a small black jacket, but that’s much out of detail, just the basics. He also had bright blue eyes. He looked familiar. “This man embodies your darkness, restore your heart and do the impossible.” The boy then extended his arm, pointing his arm directly at me, then in an instant, and after a flash, there was the key, in all its majesty. He then slowly at first then leaped at me. “Defeat…” It ended. I quickly blocked, but I just could bring myself do a counter attack, so I leaped back. He ran up, so I launched an attack, but he blocked, I kept lashing out attacks, but now matter how fast, he blocked. I eventually lost hope and leaped away. But then I thought, “This isn’t what my brother would have wanted, and who knows he may be alive.” I suddenly felt alive again, and it appears, he was waiting there ready, I felt invincible. I ran up, jumped, and landed down with an attack, he parried the attack, but I recovered out of the air, and attacked, it knocked him back a bit, so I kept attacking while he was slightly off his guard. I kept pushing until he, finally recovered and parried, then used an ice magic on the ground, and knocked me into the sky. He then jumped up and throw his blade at me, but then he suddenly leaped at me in the sky, and when his blade got close, he called it back to his hand, and while I was ready to block his direct attack, he, bashed me with an unexpected attack. He knocked me away, but I landed on my feet, then when he started towards me I slashed with unmatched speed, and hit him directly. He then finally stopped, and dropped his key.

“Good but its not that easy from now on.” He said while fading away. EASY!? That was him holding back!? I don’t want to try him at his best. I thought. Then I seemed to really awaking where I was on the beach, but before I could open my eyes….

“Have a nice nap?” Fralin asked, standing over me. I opened my eyes, and said “Yes” Then Fralin added, but she whispered “That was just what you needed, huh? Can we talk later?” She asked.
“Yea, sure” I answered
She then had a big grin “Well aren’t you happy?” She finished then sat down beside me. I looked at the sky, all was well, until the sky seemed like it exploded, and I quickly turned to shore in response. A destroyed gummi ship, crashed into the ocean causing a giant wave that almost hit us. Wanson ran up and said “What is this!?” Then a black wave appeared. It was a collection of heartless.

“Will this day, ever end?” I ended

Chapter 4:

Twilight thunder

The hordes of heartless streamed out of the decimated gummi ship. The sky seamed destroyed, and the sky turned to twilight. The heartless stormed the island. We are lucky no ones been living on this island for a while, now and not many would come here; it seemed like a vacation spot, but barely any civilization. The heartless were small, and some were muscular, and bigger than the others. And by “some” I mean thousands. But it’s better than millions. We were still screwed, in all honesty, but it’s not like all hope is lost. The moon lit most of the island. The heartless started advancing toward us faster and I jumped into the twilight, Fralin and Wanson following behind me. The heartless were easy and painless, but millions kept streaming out, it began to get tiring, the heartless were like shadows, shifted around and sometimes shifted, into the ground. They are tiring but at least they don’t cause us trouble, but then suddenly several of the big ones leaped at me. I jumped strait up and then mimicked some black magic the guy in the sanctuary of calling used against me. I looked strait down and used it, it probably wasn’t as affective but it did destroy them. I was better at green magic, I used haste on myself, I can’t find Fralin and Wanson. I moved extremely fast at that moment, I when I swung my blade all you could see was the silhouette, I swung directly toward the gummi ship, where the most heartless appeared it seemed hopeless the heartless were still streaming out and wouldn’t slow down. I fought my way to the ship, it got worse and worse and the heartless continuously keep coming. Haste wore off and it was harder to fight back with no energy, I felt horrible and so tired, so tired. I felt lost, I couldn’t take it any more. I finally passed out.

Lilla Fralin looked over to see Range pass out. “Oh, no! No! No!” she cried. Many thoughts crossed Fralin’s mind.

Why? Why you!? Everything always happens to you. Can’t life be nice to you? I’m fighting though hordes of heartless. I finally found Range, picked him up, and leaped off. Got on the boat, and quickly got over too the other island, Wanson saw me and stayed to do what he can, to slow them. When we got to the other island, I stumbled with him in my arms, to his house, it instantly started to shower, when I got on porch I helped him stand but he was still unconscious, I hurriedly got the keys out of his pocket, and opened his door, and then rushed him to his bed, making sure I closed the door behind me. He was damp, and I reluctantly changed his clothes, to my own will. He now wore: Dark blue baggy jeans, a white long sleeve tee, with a red short sleeve over shirt. I started to cry over his body as he started to wake up, I felt relief, and I started to blush. But now I didn’t know what to do now, stay with my half conscious friend to protect him, or go help my friend in need. Range started to move, I then kneeled down next to his, bed, and he curled a part of my hair with his finger and faintly said “Put on some of my dry clothes and go help Wanson, Fralin.” I did need dry clothes and going to my house would take to long, so I had to put on some of his clothes. He was so much taller than me, I’m like 5’5, and he’s 6’0, so when I got something of his on I felt out of place, it is a black and white hoodie, and black jeans, but it is better than getting sick.

“Fralin go to the gummi ship, and destroy what’s in it, I think its making the heartless.” Range instructed me, I nodded hoping wasn’t too late, ran out and locked the door behind me.

Wanson had started to run, he was very energetic, but was running out of energy. While the heartless chased him I ran up with my sword that I had kept in the cover at my side, and leaped at the gummi ship, I landed near what appeared to be the back, it was busted wide open. I looked in and saw a gigantic machine with heartless steaming endlessly out. It looks like that the thing Range said might be causing them, obviously. I leaped at it, but I was caught! “Let go!” I yelled but the heart didn’t listen and throw me in. Inside is a colorful, but slightly dark place, then it seemed like my shadow was in front of me? I waved at it, it waved back, then it hopped back, then it ran, I chased it. “Hey! I have to sow you back on!” I said thinking of peter pan, I didn’t have a shadow and that one was literally mine. It finally stopped, but now it’s growing! It finally ends having long curly hair, with an empty hole in the middle of it in the shape of a heart. “Waah!! My shadow doesn’t love me!” I cried. It ignored me and tried to smash me with its gigantic hand, I was afraid; I wish my friends were here. So out of reaction I held my blade strait up. As if to stop it, but it didn’t and kept going until it smashed its hand on my blade. It pulled its arm back and then exploded with a flash, and when I could see again, my shadow was back normal. “I guess the shadows really can care.” I finished.

By the time I got out of the place, it was early morning. The sun had reappeared; I didn’t find Wanson on the beach, so I hurriedly when to Ranges house, as I looked at the beach it seemed destroyed, it had seemed so much better before, but at least the heartless monsters were gone. When I got there Wanson and Range were sitting down on a couch in his living room. “Range you were right!” I applauded

“What happened to you? Why were gone so long.?” Range asked

“I wasn’t gone long.” I replied

“Yes you were.” Wanson added in. “For hours”

“I didn’t seem that long to me.”

“Well, something strange is happening; you to should go, your parents are probably worried” Range suggested

“My parents don’t care how long I’m out, during summer.” I said, knowing he knew this

“Well, mine don’t ether; they believe a bad thing could ever happen.” Wanson added

“I guess it’s a good time to look in this envelope, my said open it when the time is right.”

Range pulled out the small envelope, and opened it. I walked up to him and looked at what was in it. “A will to a new Gummi ship?”

“I guess now we own a gummi ship, that previously was owned by my brother.”

Wanson knew where the place was that it was. “That’s in the island right next to the one we just got off.”

We traveled to the island. It was an air port, but it could hold air ships a gummi alike. We walked down the strip; it was vivid place full of new tourist. We walked in the building, noticing it was tuning to mid morning. We asked the lady at the first counter we saw were the ship the will mentioned. After showing us the will…
“This is a very special ship.” She said leading us to it

“How special?” Range asked

“Best weave ever seen-“She cut off as she opened the door to the dome were the ship was held. “You’re very lucky.”

Wanson then asked “But, it looks like the old Highwind.”

“But, it’s new and upgraded.” The lady replied.

“Well I guess were in for something big.” Range finished

I thought the story was great but I think that when you have finished writing the story go back through the story to make sure everything is edited because there are still grammar errors here and there, can't wait until the story continues!

Chapter 5: Its a short chapter, but it will matter later.

Unexplained

The dark clothed man walked over and sat down on the top stairs in the ragged, dusty house. The stairs towered over the living room. There was a cough next to the bottom of the stair of the staircase. On the cough is a slouched over young woman, with crimson red hair, and a raven style cut, wearing dark black jeans and a big baggy jacket, and an overly tall man with short silver hair, he whore a white ragged dress shirt with blue jeans, sitting beside her.

“Hey, you! On the stairs. I’d suggest you stop wearing that or someone might mistake you for a organization member.”

Before he could speak, the silver headed man added to her statement. “She’s right, besides the baggy black jeans, and the black and white shoes, you’d look exactly like one.” The man was right, the man on the stairs, whore a organization jacket, but it had zipper that even when up to the top of the hood. He had it zipped all the way up, and to represent a face, he had a chalky smiley face over the front of the hood. The hood was skin tight.

At that moment a lanky, spikey haired man intruded the scene breaking most of the mood, spiting out. “Anybody, with a brain can see he’s not a member. Even THEIR smart enough to know not to zip a hood all the way up, so they can’t see.”

Finally, the man on stairs had endured enough and finally spoke out. “I can still see, idiot. But, can you see this!?” He waved his arm. At first and spiky haired man was confused, but then he fell back, hard, smashing against the wall, his body fatigued and he had no idea what had happened.

“Hey!....What…did…you….do?” He said to weak to yell.
“Something,…just know, you’re not going to be moving for while, but hey, you should of saw it, it was in your face.” The man on the stairs happily replied.

The girl on the couch snickered and blurted out “Finally! A way to tame him, how convenient.” She said almost crying because she held in so much laughter.

“You…always…wanted…this…didn’t…you?” He said getting weaker and weaker, until he fainted.

The other man on the couch finally tossed out “Some group we are, we don’t need enemies the take care of us."

The girl replied “What do you expect? We don’t have hearts.”
