Don't really see why you should care but I might b
At first I thought the dude with the messed up face was Big Boss and it was going to turn out that he was still alive. Anyway the game looks beautiful, I was afraid the stealth gameplay was going to be scrapped in this game but I can tell that won't be happening. I'm glad I decided to get into this series when I did.

They look VERY alike. Unless he's a new character, they'd need to explain how his face turned into... That. When you mix him with Vulgan, the Sorrow was responsible for a massive electrical discharge over him, so he's entire body was burned (the Shagohod also exploded on him, so the more reason to think Fish-Face is Vulgan).

But if Vulgan and Paz are in it, two antagonistic individuals that meddled with Big Boss, could this be a sort of closure to the BB saga?

I don't think it's Volgin, but rather it might be Coldman. However, there is nothing from Peace Walker that would explain why he was have such a deformed and disarranged face, so it really could be anyone. Perhaps maybe it's a new antagonist.

It's a very loose term of open world, if you're taking it how I think you are. You're sort of given the option to explore the tanker in 2, but it's hardly 'open'. You get to choose what areas you want to go to and all, but usually when people mean open world they're referring to the kind of open like Infamous or Prototype has.

Honestly, you all should assume it's a new character over an old one. I don't even know why people are assuming it's Volgin or Zadornov or anyone else that has appeared before.

We're assuming he's an old character because it doesn't hurt to discuss whether or not he's an old one. We were wrong? Pity, let's go on.

On some related news, Kojima affirms that Snake doesn't look older, it's just the lighting.

Yup. He posted a picture showing Snake without the goggles today, and it's definitely brown. The lighting made it look white. Odd coincidence.

That's not the point. I was simply stating my confusion. Speculating is all fine, but there was hardly any sound reasoning why people believed it was someone we already knew.

On some related news, Kojima affirms that Snake doesn't look older, it's just the lighting.

That's not the only thing that made him look older. He just doesn't look as old.

So I caved in and bought the HD collection. I have already played MGS2 (not the re-release, but whatever), and I have a copy of snake eater, but i'd much rather play it in HD with better camera controls. I have also never played Peace Walker so that's a welcome bonus.

I've been wanting to replay them on HD and with trophies, but don't have the "cashola".

but i'd much rather play it in HD with better camera controls.
What's with Snake Eater and people complaining about the camera? I never had any problems.

Everything is a bit straightforward until you get to post-game, where you'll need to farm for better soldiers to max Mother Base. x)

I honestly only suggest going for the second ending to know things and to be up to date for when GZ comes out. The last chapter isn't worth it in the sense that it's good writing, but only because it has valuable information.

By that I mean that it doesn't make the game better, but it does remind me of something. I'm confused as to why they're still calling him Snake (in the game and in the posters) despite the fact that he told Kaz to call him "Big Boss".

I really hope they don't keep calling him Snake, it undermines his character development in PW; even Boss is just fine. At least he doesn't have the bandanna anymore.

What's with Snake Eater and people complaining about the camera? I never had any problems.

That doesn't make it any less of an issue to those people. Admittedly the camera doesn't make the game unplayable, but it is a legitimately bad choice for an open environment.
