The main theme of the Final Fantasy Series is clearly unforgettable. All of the small tunes in KH, like the world themes (especially Traverse Town), are all amazing and catchy. For me, its gotta be the KH series with the better music. Anyways, Simple and Clean is amazing too.

The whopping 3 tracks you mentioned are all from FFX, that's only scratching the surface of FF's soundtrack, one game out of billions more. FF has KH absolutely beat in terms of the number of good tracks. A main thing in Final Fantasy games is that every game has an absolutely different story, setting, and gameplay, but what you can always depend on a new FF game is the music, it's consistant, it's become a rule in their franchise. Even FFXIV that was considered unfinished had an amazing soundtrack.

So as a fan of FF, I'm going to have to say FF has KH beat, not just in quantity but the sheer consistancy that they release an amazing soundtrack for every game, no matter if it's a spinoff or even a movie, you can always look forward to the music if not anything else.

That said, KH has an amazing soundtrack, Yoko Shimomura is my absolute favorite composer and the charm she puts in classic Disney tunes is amazing. I could really go on all day about KH and FF music, they're both great and is really up there above most other franchises.

I would say KH because it was so good that I would have the official soundtrack of the first KH game right now and plays it constantly.

I'm gonna go with kh. What FF music I've heard is good but kh is more memorable. The only memorable ff music that ever comes to mind is 'One Winged Angel'.
However I haven't played many ff games so I have little knowledge of ff music.

I'd rather not pit the two against each other, because FF had a such a solid identity when Nobuo Uematsu spoiled me was "head honcho", even when spanning all types of influences and genres.

Every Kingdom Hearts soundtrack has made an impression on me, some more than others, but I'm generally pleased with a majority of the work. I haven't heard too much of Final Fantasy XI or XII's soundtrack, so it's been a good decade since I've enjoyed a Final Fantasy OST, because XIII's did not impress me. Sadly, there were probably only a handful of tracks I could listen to over and over again.

Composers obviously play a large part in the consistency of the music, and Yoko Shimomura has done a good job structuring the KH universe. I've not been let down yet.

Comparing the two isn't really a wise thing to do mainly because Final Fantasy has the advantage in sheer numbers and until FF IX (the last one he fully participated in) the music of FF was made by Master composer Nobuo Uematsu.

While "One-Winged-Angel" is certainly one of the most known pieces, it is only one on a whole flood of good music pieces.
Theathrym FF definitely shows off all the variety.

Even newer FF's like 13 have still the high quality music of epic proportions, like Barthandelus' "Fighting Fate" and calm pieces like the Sunleth Waterscape.

All in all, I'd say that they're in most cases evenly matched with FF probably having the advantage of less remixes while KH has overall the better character themes.
In the end, it also comes down to personal tastes since music is normally nothing that can be argued about.

It is impossible for me to decide which franchise has better music. Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts (as well as Zelda imo) all have great music, FF has the advantage in sheer number, but as Sephiroth put it, KH has better character themes. (Zelda in that retrospect has great area and game themes- Ballad of the Goddess for instance) So, I guess I'll say that they share the 1st place pedestal.

I agree with what others have expressed, if you compare each game versus each game it is more fair but comparing the whole FF series to the KH series is an unfair battle where FF will clearly will because it has something for everyone. However, in terms of memorable tracks, I think KH could nearly win with Simple and Clean alone. I mean, anyone who knows what KH is (even a casual fan) knows Simple and Clean, so catchy!!!
