i was a lil confused as to why these things were never touched on? but since the heartless were created its a common idea that it was formed inside of a laboratory. and ansem made them. so what are the guards guarding (dilan and um... ok lexaus) i think is the lab and xigbar works there and i dont neccesarily know his story yet but i think that once the heartless were created one left and killed sum ppl forming more heartless and then took the hearts of the org13 we know today and took over radiant gaden. this is one theory. the second is that in the lab there was a giant dark explosion turning everyone in town into heartless and nobodies and decimating radiant garden. sum1 just randomly named it hollow bastion. wha do u think?

What's "it"? And Ansem didn't make Heartless, Xehanort did.

1 - 6 in the Org. lost their hearts willingly, they dove into the darkness, I don't think it was the Heartless who took their hearts. And also once one Heartless exists I'm pretty sure they'll begin to multiply and attack people and what-not. Some probably did escape, or some may have even been born outside of the lab. And also, Maleficent took over RG, not the Heartless. The Heartless just ran everyone out of the world/turned them into Heartless.
I doubt it. Leon & the gang weren't turned into Heartless, and they lived there. It was just the Heartless attacking people that caused more and more Heartless. And also, Maleficent probably named it HB.
It's Aeleus and they are guarding what appears to be Ansem's castle.
Trying reading the Xehanort's ARs in KH1 and Ansem's SARs in KH2...
Xehanort and the other apprentice walked through the door to the world's heart, causing them to loose their hearts. Again, it's all explained in the ARs and the SARs.

Maleficent took over Radiant Garden because their ruler (Ansem the Wise) fled after his apprentices betrayed him and darkness/heartless conquered, and simply renamed it "Hollow Bastion".
Ansem did not flee Radiant Garden, Xemnas banished him from there to the Realm of Nothingness.
wait they created artificial heartless (the ones with emblems) in the labratory but i dont think that they created the purebloods in the lab, emblems where created from data gathered off purebloods but didnt ATW stop experimenting because it was dangerous, so he could of actually ment that by opening the DTD heartless would have poured into the world thus they must have already existed
They did.
AR2 covers the creation of the first Heartless.
Ansem wasn't directly involved with the Heartless, his apprentices were the ones who carried on his research and created the Heartless.
The only door Ansem spoke of, at least at that time, was the one to RG's heart.
